Meine zwei Hübschen – The Wild Hare Kits

Hello everyone and welcome to my first The Wild Hare Kits September Petite Kit project share! This month I received a Petite Kit from The Wild Hare Kits to design with and it had 2 sheets of Pink Fresh Studio´s „Just A Little Lovely“ collection papers in it and I just ADORE them – especially the B-Sides!!! <3

I started September off by creating a layout based on this months sketch. Have you played with the Wild Hare Kits monthly sketches yet? I find them very inspiring and always have a great time playing with them!

Here are the steps I did to create the layout:

  1. Take pink, green and blue spray inks and mix them with a little bit of water to create a lighter tone and a more liquid watercolour look. Now grab a paint brush and apply the deluted ink onto the page copying the watercolour look of the paper, but only apply the paint onto the areas according the September sketch.
  2. After the first layer is dry, apply some ink droplets randomly onto the background for additional detail. Use the same colours.
  3.  Next place a stencil – I used my Carta Bella Garden Geometric Stencil which came with the kit for this purpose – onto  the Just A Little Lovely paper on top of the previously painted area and apply Nuvo Mother of Pearl Embellishment Mousse with a palette knife onto the background for interest and texture. Let dry properly before moving to the next step.
  4. Now take the Sparkle City Speech Bubble paper and fussy cut the speech pubble with scissors. Arrange onto the page, but don´t adhere it on place yet.
  5. Next take the Shimelle Sparkle City sticker sheet and add the green toned border sticker (cut in smaller pieces) next to the speech pubble paper and underneath it, so that is shows only partially.
  6. Keep adding more decorational elements from the Sparkle City collection papers and sticker sheet until you are happy with the result. Then arrange the photos in place and adhere everything on their places. Add additional decoration using sentiment and/or word stamps next to the photos.
  7. Finish the page off by outlining it with a black pen, then attach the glitter alphas on place to build a layout title.
  8. You can also add journaling, but I chose not to, as I find that the title tells it all.

I´ve again recorded a video for you to watch. I hope it inspires you and gives you a better idea on each an every step!

Also, we always love to see you take your twist on our monthly sketch!! So if you do, be sure to tag the Wild Hare Kits on social media and/or use #thewildharekits, so we can come and leave some love!! We´d love to see what you make!

Happy scrapping and see you again on the 22nd with another TWHK project share!!!

20th Anniversary – The Wild Hare Kits

Hello everyone, today I´m sharing my first The Wild Hare Kits layout with the August Deluxe kit. For this layout I chose to use the monthly sketch as my starting point.

I really like this sketch very much! It has all the elements that make me swoon.

This is my take on the sketch and here is how I created the page:

I first printed several pieces of the same photo strip (I love the repeated look on a page, it adds texture and interest in my opinion).

Next I used the Echo Epic Triangles stencil with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to add some pattern onto the background. I applied the ink very randomly thru the stencil, but still kept to the basic layout of the sketch and positioned the triangles about there, where the stars are on the sketch.

After that I cut tiny paper strips from three different (see product list in the end of my post) Flower Market papers that came with my August kit and arranged  them onto the page to my liking. The tiny banners and the journaling emphemera piece are from the Flower Market collection also. If you´d like to take a better look on my August kit, you can see the video HERE. I didn´t yet adhere the paper strips on place as I still wanted to add some stamping and details.

On my unboxing video I told how much I liked the stamp set that came with my kit. Here you can see the stamping added is done with the stamps from that stamp set. I love these tiny words and sentiments and they work so well with the layout theme too!!

The tiny stamped hearts had only a black outline on them, so they were screaming for some colour :). I took a peach toned marker and coloured them all in that tone. This adds a nice detail to the layout.

For finishing touches I added the lovely Bramble Fox Petite Perspextives acrylic stars to the page. I really like these stars and they work so well with the rest of the page. Also, the colour scheme of my kit is just perfect!! Exactly what I was looking for to work with.

Here are a few detail photos of the layout:

I had a great time scrapping with this month´s sketch! Be sure to check back on the 19th for another Wild Hare Kits project :).

Happy scrapping,

„Fresh Start“ – The Wild Hare Kits

Hi there everyone, it´s time for another The Wild Hare Kits guest design team project share today. I have prepared a short photo step-by-step instead of a video for you to see, so hop over to The Wild Hare Kits blog and read more about this page there! Here is a photo of the finished layout:

This layout´s focal point is on the cutfile which happens to be the Wild Hare Kits January cutfile. I wanted to add a fun touch to it and placed the sentiment under quotation marks. That way it perfectly fits the layout theme which is „joys of long flights“ :).

Nowadays it is kinda hard getting proper, nice photos of my boys. They are always pulling faces and being silly when you try to get a decent photo. Well, for once, for this layout theme, the faces they made, perfectly matched the long flight theme :)….

Make sure to hop over to the Wild Hare Kits blog to read the full story about creating this layout. Here I am just putting some detail photos up for eye-candy.

I hope to have inspired you to play with your The Wild Hare Kits and scrap a little! Do try their hand-curated kits out – they are something really special! I am so much enjoying my guest design team over there! And do come back for more later this week and next week, I´ve still got quite a few shares up my sleeve :).

Happy scrapping,
xxx, Sanna

H2O – Pipilonias kreative Welt

Hallo there! I don´t usually scrap in pastellic tones (so might as well add this to the list of strange things going on here lately…). Well, this time I did. That is probably because after seeing the new Simple Stories papers, I just had to use them. And the lovely ScrapBerry´s embellishments go perfectly together with the papers.

I also used some Distress Glitter Rock Candy to create some very subtle dots onto the background.  I first covered the area with transparent struckture paste (thru a stencil) and then quickly applied some Distress Glitter over the area, before the paste was dry.

These feathers I fussy cut from a Kaisercraft paper and added some glitter glue and Distress Glitter onto the as additional decoration.

The rhinestone arrows are by ScrapBerry´s and the Enamel Dots by My Mind´s Eye.

So how are you doing with your summer photos? Already scrapped them all?? I must admit that I have piles and piles of them still to scrap :). Makes me consider maybe starting on Project Life – there, I said it… I´ve been avoiding PL products for a while now on purpose, as I know that one I get started I´m hooked. But since this summer I´ve started to consider doing PL…maybe not in a traditional way of doing weekly spreads, but maybe going more into a spread a month direction, or maybe quite freely, like when there is something going on, I´ll create a spread and when not, I´ll just let it be :). You know, getting a more relaxed take on PL and not stressing about it.

Have fun scrapping!!
xoxo, Sanna
