Daily Art Practice – Day 33

Hello and happy Thursday! This is day number 33 of my daily art practice videos for 2022. Again using the Artist Almanac 2022 page as my starting point.

For this particular piece I used all the little scraps I had left over from the month of January. I keep a small glass on my table and collect all the tiny bits there. It is really funny how all those little bits worked so well together with the colors of this almanac page.

Again some Klartext “Denglisch” stamps there with Mod Podge, Scribble Sticks and heavy gesso. On the background again Distress Oxides and a pencil.

I really like how today´ s page turned out. Also sneaked in some more Klartext stamps (all links in the supply list) and dolls by Tim Holtz.

Have a fabulous day!

Daily Art Practice – Day 32

Hello and happy Wednesday! Today´ s daily art practice is live. This time I did a landscape – there is no particular reason, I just wanted to try something different.

I used Distress Oxides, Klartext “Denglisch” stamps, a Floriléges Design stamp, some Gansai Tambi watercolors, Posca markers and Signo white.

It is a non-typical piece for me, but I decided I am going to play and just try things out in this journal. Here are some detail photos:

Wishing you a lovely week!! See you tomorrow,

Xmas Joy 2020 – Studio Tekturek

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! Today it´s again my turn to share my monthly Studio Tekturek desing team project. I scapped our 2020 family Christmas foto for this layout using non- and christmas-themed papers in combination. I love the blue-red-and white combo here.

This is what the finished page looks like. I used the following Studio Tekturek collections to create this page: One Way Ticket, Peachy Christmas and This Summertime. I love the “This Summertime” collection so much! the colours are also perfect for a Christmas theme.

I used a die cut leftover protective sheet from a clear double sided adhesive sheet by Elizabeth Craft Designs as my stencil. It´s a piece leftover from die cutting that particular die cut die with their background die. The leftover sheet works perfectly as a stencil for creating a fun background under the photo. I used Nuvo Embellishment Mousse (Mother of Pearl) with the DIY stencil.

For the rest I mainly did fussy cutting and layered various bits and pieces next to each other and overlappingly along the middle, where the papers change and added various fussy cut labels towards the left top corner.

In addition to the papers and stenciling, I did some stamping with various roller stamps from Studio Calico and Dear Lizzy. The title “2020” is done with Thickers and I actually fussy cut “8´s” to make “2´s”. For finishing touches I also added some enamel dots. That´s pretty much it. The journaling is hidden behind the photo (see the tag peeking out?).

I really love the Studio Tekturek papers so very much! It´s a small family owned company and during these pandemic times, I would like you to consider supporting them and bying their papers, so they can keep on designing and producing the gorgeous collections, like so far! I am not getting payed for advertising them, this is just something that means a lot to me. Thank you!

Wishing you a lovely Christmas holiday time! We had a quiet, lovely Christmas amongst only the closest family (us and the kids). It was perfect! We cooked together, ate good food together and spend a lovely evening with each other! A perfect Christmas eve!

Take care! We are on lockdown number three here in Austria since yesterday…

Hello and happy Thursday! It´s again “Studio Tekturek-day” on my blog today. Have you been following their social media sites recently? If not, there are great news – their STORE IS NOW ONLINE. So if you have been waiting to be able to shop some Studio Tekturek goodness, go to: shop.studiotekturek.com!!

The papers and stickers are all from the Strawberry Shake collection and I love the versatility of this collection so much. It´s so perfect for everyday scrapbooking! The other products I´ve used are either from my own (older) stash (Wycinanka chipboard and Technique Tuesday stamps) or from other manufacturers, like Bramblefox.

I´ve again recorded a start-to-finish video (partly spoken, partly fast-forward). I hope the video inspires you and gets you scrapping yourself!! I´ll be back with another scrapbook layout and video on the 29th of November. See you then again!

Wishing you a fabulous day and happy scrappy moments!

Metallic toned die cut cards – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello everyone and happy Thursday!! Today I´m back at Elizabeth Craft Designs blog with another guest design team member post. This card idea started from idea to use white Soft Finish Cardstock in a different way. Also, due to the pandemic weddings had to be postponed by many people this summer and are now slowly taking place, the need for wedding cards moved to fall. Thus the love theme today.

For this card idea I´ve used only the same dies and yet they all look so different. It´s because I´ve treated them with a metallic media. My starting point by each of these cards was the same; white Soft Finish Cardstock!

All 3 cards still look so different due to the color choices. The dies are the same, only the colours vary. And the background paper I´ve used for matting everything.

I´ve again recorded a step-by-step video for you to watch – hope you like the idea!

Be sure to check out the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog for written steps and more photos of all cards.

I hope you could inspire you today to see the versatility of plain white cardstock. There are so many ways to give it a different look and it´s always a great starting point for many projects.

Also I would like to note that hoarding various media is not a good idea. This happened to me recently when I opened one of my Nuvo Embellishment Mousses. They had ALMOST completely dried up! I was able to save a few, but also had to toss quite a few. So, take my word for it: use the product you buy. Use it before it get´s old! So these cards were also an opportunity to use up some of those mousses. You might be seeing other metallized projects showing up here on my blog – I learned my lesson and am for sure going to use the product now and not be sorry later :).

I´ll be back next month with another Elizabeth Craft Designs guest member project. Hope to see you then!!

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna
