Let´s sail away ATC set

Hello lovelies and happy Monday! School is finally over here in Austria where we live and it´s time for summer! Swimming, relaxing, BBQ, travels, ice cream – just lots of fun things in the sun. I am foremost a summer person and this season brings out the best in me. Winter, not so much. Therefore I created a sunshiny toned artist trading card set for today´s post.

Here it is:

I´ve used up all kinds of bits and bobs that were left over from previous projects. The green painted bits inside the circle, for example, are fussy cut, used baby wipes full of beautiful acrylic paint layers. I just could not put those into trash.

The piece with a circle in the middle, was a leftover piece from this art journal page from a while back. Worked out perfectly for this purpose. It´s a stenciled piece – using Tonic Studios stencil (see material list in the end).

I also fussy cut a helm from Canvas Corp Brands Ship to Shore papers and painted it purple with watercolours. Then I cut the image in half and adhered it on place. The sentiment is hand written on a piece of yellow watercoloured piece of paper and then fussy cut and attached on place.

For decoration I added some outlining with a black pen and some glass dew drops from my very old stash. That´s it for today. Wishing you a lovely start into summer vacation – enjoy it!!!

Happy crafting,
Sanna

STAMPlorations Mixed Media challenge reveal – June

Hello everyone and Happy Sunday!! Today it´s time to share the June STAMPlorations Mixed Media challenge with you. Like always you are asked to create a mixed media project (cards also allowed), that features at least one stencil.

And this is what I made for this challenge reveal: a set of Art themed artist trading cards.

I started by cutting a piece of residue ink colored (from a former project) piece of watercolor paper into the right ATC size. Then I applied three tones of Distress Ink thru the Rag Rug stencil onto the surface very randomly.

After that I took the Blooming Buds clear stamp set and stamped flowers and leaves also very randomly onto the background using grey stamp ink by Nuvo.

For my next step I again took some leftover die cut rectangles which I had gessoed first and then applied Distress Ink on. I took the Life in Full Color stamp set and stamped an art related quote with black stamp ink onto the colorful background. I love how these little pieces turned out!

Now all I needed to do was to cut the above sentiment pieces into a right size and adhere them onto the stenciled background piece.

For finishing touches I added some faux stitching around the edges and some marks here and there, done with a black pen. And for sparckle I added a few silver sequins by Nuvo. Oh, and there is a small strip of washi tape attached to the samped sentiment piece also. Almost forgot to mention that.

That´s it. I love the colors and the look of these ATCs!! Now´s your turn again. Create a stenciled mixed media project of any kind and submit it to the June MM challenge at the STAMPlorations blog. Looking forward to seeing your fun, colorful and artsy projects!!

ps. remember to take advantage of the above Discount Code at the STAMPlorations online store :). Enjoy!

Happy stenciling,

STAMPlorations Clear Stickers Reveal

Hello lovelies and Happy Thursday!! STAMPlorations recently launched a selection of Clear Stickers to their product palette. There are various themes available, like Coffee, Christmas, Mom, Family and all types of General/Inspirational sentiments. This is a great addition to the product palette at STAMPlorations!! So let´s celebrate that abit :)!!

For today´s post I´ve created a set of Coffee themed projects, featuring some of the Clear Stickers from the Coffee Line. There are plenty more available at the store, so be sure to check them ALL out :). I might as well warn you – they are quite addictive!! 🙂

And now to the projects:

I started by stamping a few coffee mugs (stamp also by STAMPlorations) with embossing ink onto white cardstock, then heat embossing with golden embossing powder.

After fussy cutting the images I colored them with Distress Inks and a water thank brush and then went on with creating some cards.

For both of these cards I used some of my own stencil design to create the card background and then adhered the fussy cut coffee mugs with 3D foam onto the cards. I had the „Just Caffeinate“ clear stickers set waiting and attached the stickers onto an inked piece of white cardstock and then fussy cut them into banners.

These stickers are really great for so many types of projects. You can use them for scrapbooking, art journaling, ATC´s, cards, tags and all types of paper crafts that come to your mind. ALSO, they would work great on home decor pieces too, I´m thinking of altered candle holders with sentiments on them, for example! I think I need to make such soon 🙂

But I didin´t want to create only cards as there are so many other possibilities to use these stickers. I did a set of Artist Trading Coins using one of the new Faces stencils (Foxy). That one worked perfectly together with the Caffeine Gueen stickers :)!!!

I die cut the circles, then applied some paper pieces on top and after that gessoed and inked the background with Distress Inks. After everything was dry, I inked the stencil image wth black ink onto the ATCoins and added the „Caffeine Queen“ sticker next to the face.

I love how these coins turned out. This coffee sentiment set I was using has plenty of stickers in it: a total of 128 stickers/16 stickers per sticker sheet and 8 sheets of stickers inside.

Here you can see the full sticker sheet featured – don´t you just love these sentiments?? I do!!

Artist Trading Card set – Zuckersüß

Hello there and happy Thursday!! Today I´m sharing a fun set of artist trading cards. I have been using up residue pieces of paper from my older stash and these 3 ATCs are a result of „destashing“ too. I call this set „sweet as candy“. I am/was a huge Sassafras fan and I have been saving and hoarding their papers for the past years in my stash. I still have quite a few „treasures“ from their paper collections in my stash. There bits are leftover strips from a paper I used ages ago.

I just coudn´t throw these cute ducks and the yummy ice cream cone patterns into trash, so I used them to create some „sweet as candy“ ATCs. Some of the papers are older Webster´s Pages lines and there are also Basic Grey flags and tags here and there.

The stamps are again by „Klartext“ and really go with the papers so very well. These ATCs were so much fun to make and I adore the „oldish look“ of the papers.

That´s my project share for today. Do come back for another project on Saturday. And if there is anyone who would like to swap these, do leave me a comment or pm me via my social media sites.

Wishing you a great day!

Artist Trading Coin Set – Die lieben Kleinen

Hello and happy 1st of May!! I wanted to share something sweet and soft today with you – a set of pink and light blue toned artist trading coins. The secret to these backgrounds is again a piece of residue paper I created by accident when I was creating a tag (that I will be sharing on Friday here on my blog). And the funny thing is I immediately fell in love with the residue paper. I will be reproducing this look again for sure!!! It´s true what they say about the greatest ideas happening by/thru accident(s).

I in face adore the background colors so much that I only wanted to add a few bits and bobs to highlight it, so I dug into my stash of ribbons, tags and washi and fund a lovely light pink washi tape with letters on it. Fits perfectly here!

Also the felt flower ribbon is a very old one from my stash, but here it really works so well. The small tags are actually by Basic Grey – they once came with pins and I haven´t used them until now and am really happy I didn´t  so far. They match the colors and coin feel really well.

Also the brads are very old. The stamped sentiment is by a German stamp line called „Klartext“. Fits here like a glove!!!

The only „new“ product I used are the Nuvo Glitter Drops and the Crystal Glaze I added here and there for texture.

Ah, it felt really good creating this set! I really found my creative flow that particular everning and I love the results!! I hope you come back on Friday to see the tag that resulted these AT-Coin backgrounds. It´s very different to this, but the colors I used are obviously the same :).

See you soon! Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna
