Hello everyone and happy Monday! The design team members are sharing some Halloween goodness over at the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today. I was able to join the fun and am sharing my Halloween style greeting card project and steps with you.
For this card you just need some White Soft Finish Cardstock and inks. That is mainly it. This is the finished card and in the following I´m sharing the steps with photos.
Start by die cutting the pumpkins, the paper bag and the candy from white Soft Finish Cardstock with your die cutting machine. I use the Sizzix Big Shot, but that is just my go-to machine. If you prefer another one, feel free to use that :). Die cut several pumpkings (and trunks), one paper bag and several candy pieces. Back the small pieces with Clear Double Sided Adhesive before die cutting. This will make the adhering process easier!
Next start adding colour to the pieces. I started with Distress Ink tea dye tone for the brown pieces. Apply with an ink blending tool (again, your choice what type of tool you like to use – there are plenty of options in the market at the moment).
Then ink the pumpkins orange – I used Distress Ink wild honey tone here.
Next take the candy and apply picked raspberry Distress Ink tone as the first layer.
The go around the edges with a darker orange tone. I used Distress Ink spiced marmalade tone.
And now create a green background (again using Distress Inks) onto a white card base (or use a green card base). I used twisted citron and cracked pistachio in this order. The stenciling is done with the darker tone on top.
Next add some Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape onto the candies and dip the tape into Silk Microfine Glitter (Brigth Grape tone), brush the residue off and polish the glitter with your finger.
This adds a fun detail to the candy pieces. Now arrange everything onto the card and adhere on place. I added the stamped sentiment last using black stamp ink and a stamp from my own stash.
For additional decor I also stamped with Distress Ink pumice stone some flower buds (using the Spring Fling stamp set) onto the paper bag. This is totally optional, you could also go without!
This is my Halloween card project for today. I hope you get inspired to create some Halloween cards yourself!! You could also stamp another sentiment like “Happy Fall” if you are not much of a Halloween person, that way the card could be a regular fall card.
Have a great start into the new week!!
