Altered Christmas tree bauble – Ornament No.: 3

Hi there! Today is again time to share another altered Christmas tree bauble! This is ornament number three:

Sanna LippertStarting point again the same – first cover the bauble with white gesso and let dry.

Sanna LippertThen take a piece of patterned paper and wrip it into small pieces. I used the Red & White Dot Reverse patterned paper by Canvas Corp for this purpose. It is nice and bright and goes well with the Christmas theme. Now grab the serviette varnish & glue (or matte medium if you prefer that) and add a layer on the top of the gessoed bauble. Then layer pieces of wripped paper onto this area overlappingly. Make sure they stick to the bauble properly and then add another layer over the paper with the paint brush. Repeat until you got all areas covered. Let dry.

Sanna LippertNext add red ribbon across the bauble and tie a knot for hanging on top and add a white button on the bottom for additional detail. Tie a bow over the button. Then add half pearls in a row into the middle. I used a regular paper glue for this purpose.

Sanna LippertNext cover the upper part (spare the ribbon areas) with White Metallic High Impact paint and quickly apply some Multi Crystal Glitter Mix over the wet paint. This way it immediately sticks to the paint layer and you will not need any additional glue. Let dry.

Sanna LippertFinally add smaller half pearls over the red ribbon areas for additional detail. The third ornament is now finished. This one is quite sparkly and shiny, but it will fit perfectly into the Christmas tree decoration we have :).

In two days I will be sharing ornament number 4 – hope you will come back to see how it turned out.

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna
