Top 9 of 2020

Hello and happy Wednesday! Today I´m stopping by to share my Instagram top nine projects with you.

So these were the 9 artworks you like the most. One layout and lots of mixed media projects! It´s been quite a year. It started with me wripping my cruciate on 1st of January 2020. A good start for a year, eh?

Just adding a few of my other artworks from 2020 in between the lines 😉

Then along came Covid-19 and the rest is history. Lockdowns, isolation, washing hands until the first layer of skin wore off. Being worried about getting sick, or even worse, infecting someone else. And this still is going on. As I write this, we have just started our third lockdown here in Austria. We´ve been tested once so far, all negative. And in a few weeks there will be another testing round, otherwise we cannot go shopping, but need to do an extra week of isolation. There´s been so many regulations, changes and adjusting required, that I am slowly loosing the grip of what is ok and what not. Also, I feel really bad for my children, they have lost a whole year of their youth. No friends, no spending time together and almost no school AT SCHOOL. And this year my younger one is supposed to graduate gymnasium. I wonder how that is supposed to work out. Makes me angry that they´ve lost so much, in teaching, in social contacts and in life at an important age.

Well, enough of that. So you seem to like my mixed media. I love it too. But I just cannot deside what is my true passion. Sometimes I do CAS, then another time I go crazy with mixed media, then I do die cutting and just fussy cutting paper. And it all feels good at that particular time. But it seems, that you like to see me do more mixed media? So I´ll try and concentrate on one more direction next year, I guess. Just to develop more in one area, I think.

So have you given any thought to your OLW for 2021 yet? I recently took a fun „survey“ and that gave me 4 words to think about: money, change, health and strenght. I think somewhere there is going to be my new word 2021. This year my word was self-care. How suitable, eh? Or on the other hand, how ironic? Anyhow fits 2020 very well. Little did I know of it´s deeper meaning when I picked it for 2020.

Just one more day and it´s 2021! I really, really hope it will be a better one. I miss my people, and I am not even an extrovert. But isolating oneself for such a long time does no good to ones soul. Here is Austria they started with the vaccination during Christmas holidays. The first handful of people got it. It might take until summer, till we are due for it, but it just might be our only way to a relatively normal life again. And I miss normal life!

I wish you all lots of health and endurance for the next weeks and moths. Here´s to hoping we will soon reach a more normal way of life. This year, since March, has felt like the movie „Goundhog Day“. I cannot wait it to end..

Have a great New Years Eve! I´m spending it with my husband – at home (surprise, surprise?! ;-)… ). Like any other day this year too. But let´s make it a nice one, against all odds. See you on the other side!

Xmas Joy 2020 – Studio Tekturek

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! Today it´s again my turn to share my monthly Studio Tekturek desing team project. I scapped our 2020 family Christmas foto for this layout using non- and christmas-themed papers in combination. I love the blue-red-and white combo here.

This is what the finished page looks like. I used the following Studio Tekturek collections to create this page: One Way Ticket, Peachy Christmas and This Summertime. I love the „This Summertime“ collection so much! the colours are also perfect for a Christmas theme.

I used a die cut leftover protective sheet from a clear double sided adhesive sheet by Elizabeth Craft Designs as my stencil. It´s a piece leftover from die cutting that particular die cut die with their background die. The leftover sheet works perfectly as a stencil for creating a fun background under the photo. I used Nuvo Embellishment Mousse (Mother of Pearl) with the DIY stencil.

For the rest I mainly did fussy cutting and layered various bits and pieces next to each other and overlappingly along the middle, where the papers change and added various fussy cut labels towards the left top corner.

In addition to the papers and stenciling, I did some stamping with various roller stamps from Studio Calico and Dear Lizzy. The title „2020“ is done with Thickers and I actually fussy cut „8´s“ to make „2´s“. For finishing touches I also added some enamel dots. That´s pretty much it. The journaling is hidden behind the photo (see the tag peeking out?).

I really love the Studio Tekturek papers so very much! It´s a small family owned company and during these pandemic times, I would like you to consider supporting them and bying their papers, so they can keep on designing and producing the gorgeous collections, like so far! I am not getting payed for advertising them, this is just something that means a lot to me. Thank you!

Wishing you a lovely Christmas holiday time! We had a quiet, lovely Christmas amongst only the closest family (us and the kids). It was perfect! We cooked together, ate good food together and spend a lovely evening with each other! A perfect Christmas eve!

Take care! We are on lockdown number three here in Austria since yesterday…

´tis the season

Hello and happy Monday!! Let me share one last stash busting card with you, created with a ton of older product.

For this one I took an older polka dotted patterned paper on which I had applied adhesive in big dots and then poured some Distress Glitter on top. I think is goes back to this Distress Glitter video back from the day.

On top of that Distress Glitter layer I placed my Holly stencil and applied texture paste thru it onto the background. I love turquoise and white together. For decor I took some really old Prima Marketing paper flowers, two brads (also very, very old ones) and attached them onto the card. The sentiment is by STAMPlorations and was stamped with black ink onto a leftover piece of white cardstock.

I am still stash busting and going to continue next year. Because a) I have too much old product, b) it is a lot of fun. Wishing you a good start into your new week, whatever you are doing. I am still on Christmas holiday and we are also in on our 3rd lockdown. Hoping your week will be a nice one!

Happy crafting,

Most wonderful time

Hello and happy Sunday! How are your holidays going? I hope you had a lovely Christmas and got to spend some time with your (closest) family members. At least that was the situation here in Austria. Some did a test to be able to meet grandparents and some just continued with distancing like on any other day.

Here is one more card I forgot to share with you. It´s also a Christmas card. Done using one of my new stencils, called Winter Flowers. I´ve first inked the background light green, then added red Distress Ink thru the stencil onto the background and mounted it on a piece of darker green cardstock.

For decor, there are just small dots of Nuvo Glitter Drops. And a STAMPlorations clear sticker, mounted on a green cardstock piece as a centerpiece. Simple and easy.

I´ve started totally motivated after Christmas and I´m trying to do good things to me. Starting health wise. So more excersize will be on the menü this year. I want to feel better and fitter again. So far so good 🙂 it´s been two days, so it´s still been easy. But I need to keep to it from now on, like forever to achieve a permanent change :). Keep your thumbs up for me, will you?

Happy Sunday!

Super easy Christmas cards

Hello lovelies and happy Friday!!! Today´s card share is again very simple and easy to do. Well, if you need to make plenty of cards, simple and easy is the fastest way to go, unless you start in June :-). Which I didn´t, so I need to find other solutions to make plenty of cards quickly.

There too, very done in just a few minutes. Cut the background paper into size, adhere on place, apply ribbon. Then fussy cut the sentiment pieces and adhere on place with 3D foam pads & Voilá! All done.

And again I´ve got the ribbon box open and used a few centimeters of ribbon. Not that you will notice any changes in my ribbon stash yet… that will take a few Christmases, but I try to do something with them :).

Here too, the ribbon just perfectly matches the sentiment piece! And the papers on the background are the older ones I´m trying to use up on my Christmas cards this year. Sooo many cards from just one piece of paper!!!

Have a great weekend, lovelies, whatever you are doing! Let´s try and make the best of the situation, even though Christmas just isn´t going to be the same like last year.
