Hello there, lovelies! I´ve wanted to share this tag for months now, but never came found the time. This tag is created with Canvas Corp Brands product and after the 12 tags of 2015 – December tutorial by Tim Holtz. Here is what I did:
1. I took piece of Canvas Corp canvas and placed a The Crafter´s Workshop stencil over the surface. I used washi tape to adhere the stencil on it´s place.
2. Next I sprayed some Baseboard Mist Paint (Gerber) spray ink over the canvas piece.
3. I always use the residue ink too, by pressing a watercolor paper over the damp surface. That way I get a second image – it might come handy for a journal or another mixed media project later.
4. This is how the misted canvas looks like.
5. My tag is not very chrismassy, as I used hydrangea petals (punch by Martha Stewart) for the wreath. Here I punched them from a piece of ivory cardstock (also by Canvas Corp Brands.)
6. I then placed the petal over a dry baby wipe and misted them with Kiwi spray ink (by Tattered Angels – also a Canvas Corp Brand).
7. Next I adhered the canvas and the wreath pieces on to a tag. I used a piece of golden yarn as a “wreath base”, adhering the green petals along it. Then I added a few silver rhinestones on top of the petals for additional interest. A green ribbon from my stash went on top.
8. I used some Tim Holtz rub-ons on ivory cardstock, then misted the with Boardwalk Glimmer Mist over the area to create a grayish background.
9. I cut the sentiments onto banners and adhered them onto the tag. Then I added some grey Glimmer Glaze splatters onto the background. A little Prima pebble also found it´s way onto the tag.
10. Finally, some white platters had to be added too. I used the Liquitex Titanium White Ink for this purpose.
In the end I resized the tag abit as I didn´t like the grey tone on top. Notice that I even did the sewing, like on Tim´s tag. And I am definitely really bad in sewing :-).
This is the finished tag – and some close-ups to follow too. Really enjoyed making this!!!
This tag has been touring with the Canvas Corp booth since CHA 2016. I´m kinda jelous of it, it get´s to see so many fairs I cannot attend 😉 …
Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna
