#tuac5minchallenge – DAY 7

Hello and happy Saturnday! It´s been a day, let me tell you! Lots of working in the garden (we have a little construction going on there). I wish we can finish the project before winter comes. So my 5 min take on DAY 7 for the Ugly Art Club challenge is very simple.

It´s just some pearlescent watercolor on the background in silver and grey and a piece of tissue that was already on my table from a happy mail I received recently. I added some old rub-ons, some twine and a Heidi Swapp star on top. Plus a fussy cut sentiment from a magazine.

I like how it turned out, but I am missing droplets on this one. White ones! I just didn´t have any time for those in the end. Might add them later :). I hope you enjoy these 5 min videos I´ve been recording and give you some inspiration too. I am very much enjoying this challenge and always excited to see what other people make! #tuac5minchallenge – Day 6

Hello and happy Friday!! Another challenge share for today. This is my take on DAY 6. I had a fun time doing this, the wax seal took most of the time though 😉

I again recorded a short video , where you can watch the short process. I am thinking on changing the format. Might just do random bits next… We´ll see.

See you again tomorrow with another take! See you then!

Real life AJ page

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday!! Today I´m stopping by to share another peek into my art journal. This page started off with the blue background which I randomly applied (totally without any plan) onto the empty page with a thick paint brush.

Then I went away and came back to the page the next day. And when I looked at the blue “splat”, I could see a face in it. So I painted the eyebrows and eyes as wella as the hair and the mouth, where they seemed to emerge on their own in the blue colour. She turned out like this, because of the given tone differences on the background. And her facial impression is a very surprised/wondering one.

I wanted to concentrate on her and do very little additionally to the page. Thus, only added some spray ink thru a stencil as well as some heavy body paint thru another stencil (from my stencil line). I had a few random circles on my table, I they matched, therefore I added them.

The quote fits her facial expression so well. This quote had me thinking.. Why is it, that today, no matter where you turn to, you are quickly surrounded by fake people. Where did all the sincere people suddenly disappear to?

I´ll just leave that thought there and hope your day is a wonderful one!

Congratulations card

Hello everyone! I´ve still got one more card created with the residues of the card I shared yesterday.

On this card, instead of using texture/modeling paste with a stencil on the background, I used a embossing folder to create a pattern. Similar look, different technique.

Other that that it´s the exactly same idea and product. So if you missed yeterday´s video, go here, to see it. Just instead of applying paste, run a piece of white cardstock thru your die cutting machine with an embossing folder.

I am not a great coloring person. I think it´s because I don´t have the patience to color layers and shadows and shading. So I do this type of coloring. And it´s ok for me :). So if you are a really talented colorer (is that a word?), feel free to do some amazing coloring work on the flowers. I bet they´d look amazing that way too. I didn´t do it, because I can´t :). That simple.

Wishing you a fabulous, creative day!

Wedding card – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello everyone, I am up over at Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today with a wedding card idea. I wanted to play with red, green and white and create a fun mixed media card and this is what I ended up making.

I´ve recorded a start-to-finish video for you to watch, to give you a better idea of each and every step. Hope you like it!!!

Have fun watching!!!

..annnddd..while you are at it, make MORE CARDS :). These ones are slightly smaller in size, but feature the same elements and techniques.

Now, I´ve used a leaf die on the cards, that is sadly not available at Elizabeth Craft Designs store anymore, but don´t worry, there is another leaf set (Trio of Leaves) that will also do the trick. Just check out the supply list at the end for that.

Also I use a pearlescent watercolour palette on the leaves and flowers, but Elizabeth Craft Desings has a really nice watercolour palette out, that has gorgeous colours in it. So you could use that one for coloring as well.

For more , do read my original post over at Elizabeth Craft Designs blog too :). See you next month with another card idea again!!!

Happy crafting,
