November Stencil Challenge reminder – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and welcome to the STAMPlorations November Stencil challenge reminder post. So what is this post actually all about? It´s a simple reminder – with additional inspirational projects from the DT girls – to let you know that there is still time to play along with our November Stencil Challenge!!

And now for the inspiration – here is my project:

I created a face again! The background has some misting on it which worked as my starting point. Next I drew the face with a black Posca pen and started applying various Distress Ink tones thru 3 different stencils onto the background and across the face and the body.

After I was finished with the stenciling, I colored the hair, eyes and lips with markers. Next I added some stamping with black ink and for finishing touches I used leftover gelli printed tissue paper pieces as earrings and as highlights around the shoulders.

I had a great time creating this page – I hope I could inspire you to grab your stencils and create something fun for our challenge. There are always prizes to be won as long as you keep to the rules (see the STAMP blog for more). So grab those stencils of yours and give them a play!!

Happy stenciling,

Judge me – art journal page

Hello everybody and happy Sunday! Today I´d like to share another art journal page with you. I recently took a little time-out and went for a knee surgery related rehab. Being there, I decided to take some art supplies with me to be able to have some creative time, too. So here is the result of one of the creative evenings.

I had only a limited amount of supplies available, but it was still so much fun to create this page. So I took and used what I had, like the tissue paper transfer pictures I had pre-created a while back. Then I had a set of stamps by Viva Las VegaStamps, a stencil, paints and Posca pens with me.

I started by adding acrylic paints onto the background (the page had already paint residues and such on it as I usually wipe all types of residues onto empty pages to save product and have a nice starting point for the future), then applying bits and pieces of old vintage book pages here and there. Next I added the tissue paper images I had created with my Gelli Plate. For finishing touches I added stamping with a Viva Las Vegastamp and then colored some of the areas in with Posca pens to add interest to the areas.

Finally, I added stenciling with a STAMPlorations stencil (from my stencil line) using Nuvo Embellishment mousse as my media. And then I added a simple quote as a sentiment.

I really had a great time creating this page, even though I had limited materials available. Usually, when I travel, I don´t take any art supplies with me. This was the first time and I am glad I did it. What are your experiences on using art supplies when travelling? what do you take with you? Do you take a little or a lot with?

Wishing you a lovely end for your weekend,
Happy crafting,

Art journal page

Hi there everyone and happy Tuesday! Today I´m stopping by to share an art journal page with you. Just some random play I had in my art journal the other day. Recently I am really enjoying this type of play time alot.

Here is what I created:

I wanted to use the misted masking tapes on this page, so I added them on top of everything else and added the journaling onto them. Apart from that I´ve first covered the page with a piece of tissue paper magazine transfer in green, then layered fussy cut magazine parts (leaves) on top, added some stamping.

Stamps by Viva Las Vega Stamps and details with Posca pens. Just a page that was a result of a quick playtime. It feels so good to create these pages into my art journal lately. Just putting down bits and pieces and not giving it all too much thought. And yet every page that comes out in the process, kind of represents something that has been going thru my mind recently. Have you tried this type of art journaling recently?

Happy crafting,

ATC and Art Journal page in same style

Hello lovelies, I have a a fun project to share with you today;  I´ve created a matching art journal page and a set of artist trading coins. I´ve never done this before and while I was creating the art journal page, I figured I could use the same design to create artist trading coins too. And it was actually lots of fun!!

Here is what I did:
1. I applied the purple and green spray inks onto the background with a paint brush. I applied first just a very light layer of paint, then I went over some areas and applied a more saturated paint area here and there and let those areas air dry. That created the watercolor look onto the page.
2. Next I wripped some tissue paper and adhered it onto the page with Mod Podge. I then treated the tissue paper areas again with the spray ink tones to give them the same color as on the background.
3. After that I took some Architextures rub-ons and applied them onto the dry page (you need to wait until the page is totally dry to add the rub-ons!).
4. Next I took some stamps out (by Rubber Dance) and stamped random images here and there with black stamp ink.
5. After that I took the Leaves 2 stencil and some Tonic Studios Embellishment Mousse and applied the mousse thru the stencil onto the background to create some texture.
6. For finishing touches I fussy cut some Architextures rub-on packaging (they have great sentiments printed on their packaging!!) sentiments and adhered them and some glass beads with Tonic Studios Craft Glue onto the page. It is a really good quality glue as it also adhered the glass beads really well in place! For my artist trading coins I did the exact same steps, but started off with a piece of thick white cardstock which I die cut with the Tonic Studios circle dies.   I really, really like the color combination here!!! It brings up all the spring feelz :).

A personal note/update: I am sad to say that my design team & brandwagon/social media team member gig with Canvas Corp Brands ended very suddenly last week as the company was sold and the new owner has decided not to continue with the design team functions. So it´s a sudden and sad goodbye. It has been a great four (4!!!) years with Christine (previous owner) and the CCB team and I have really enjoyed my time and working with and for Canvas Corp Brands. I´ve had the possibility to grow and add to my crafty knowledge by not only being part of the design team but also working with in the brandwagon team and managing challenges, blog posts and one of their social media sites! Thank you so much for this amazing time.

I hope to have inspired you with my projects a little today!!!
Wishing you a great, crafty day!!!
