Happy Valentine´s Day – MMCC February release

Hello there, lovelies! A new month means a new challenge over at the Mixed Media Card Challenge blog. February´s challenge is all about the color RED and as an optional element you are asked to use HEARTS. Perfect for Valentine´s, right?

february2016challengeThis is what I created:

Sanna LippertIt is a very layered Valentine´s Day card I ended up creating. And I´ve again added a little step-by-step for you to watch:

Sanna LippertFirst I sprayed a piece of white paper with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist (Cross My Heart) and let that layer dry.

Sanna LippertNext I grabbed a The Crafter´s Workshop stencil (love this heart stencil!!) and applied some Imagine Crafts silver metallic creative medium thru the stencil onto the misted paper. I let it air dry before moving over to the next step.

Sanna LippertNext I took a hand carved heart stamp and Archival Ink (jet black) and stamped some hearts here and there (very randomly) onto the background. Next I took various stickers from my stash (they are very old and adhered them onto the card. There are both Basic Grey and Creative Memories stickers in there.

Sanna LippertNext I had created a rosette flower with a Tim Holtz die cut die and misted it with dark blue, pink and light blue Glimmer Mist. There is also a litte Basic Grey heart sticker in the middle of it, outlined with a black pen and then covered with Glossy Accents for additional dimension. After that I went along and added some red sewing garn around the piece for additional interest.

Sanna LippertFinally, as I still cannot live without black and white splatters, there had to be some white Texture Spray (by Imagine Crafts) and for black splatters my all time fave Glimmer Glaze by Tattered Angels.

Sanna Lippert  Before adhering the misted and decorated piece onto a card base I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of white paper with black Archival Ink, cut the sentiment in 3 pieces and wiped some pink ink onto the pieces. Then I adhered them and some sequins, wood veneer and cork hearts here and there and the card was finished.

Sanna LIppert Sanna LippertThere is quite a lot of “stuff” on this card, not typical for me, I guess, but I very, very much enjoyed creating these layers. So now it is your turn, hop over to the Mixed Media Card Challenge blog to see more inspiration created by my design team colleagues!!! Just remember to create a CARD for the challenge and follow the rules! Hope to see you at MMCC,

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna

Don´t forget to fly – June MMCC, Vol. 4

Hello there! Today I will share my last take on the June COLLAGE challenge over at the Mixed Media Card Challenge blog. There is still a little time to play along with us, so I hope you grab your tools and dig into your stash and get creative :).

This months challenge is a really fun one. It is about creating a collage of some kind and as an additional element you can use a frame. I´ve again created my kind of collage and first glued all kinds of paper/tape/ribbon pieces onto a piece of cardstock, then used a Tim Holtz butterfly die cut die to cut some butterflies out of that particular paper and then created a frame (again with a die cut die and my Big Shot). I´ve colored the frame with yellow and green spray ink and then stamped some circles with Finnabair stamps onto the background.

Next I outlined the frame with a black pen, then glued the frame with the butterflies onto the card base, added a stamped sentiment in the middle and finally some enamel dots.

It is a quite fast card to create, although there are so many bits and pieces in there. And the fun part is that you can use all kinds of residue paper pieces and old product to create the collage butteflies. I bet flowers would look cool this way too. Will need to try that out some time later. I´ve really enjoyed this moths challenge alot, hope you do too and join in with us! We love seeing your creations!!

See you at MMCC,
xxx, Sanna
