Sanna´s CCB Christmas craft kit – Project No. 4

Hello there, everyone! Time for my last project and video, created with the CCB Christmas craft kit. For this Christmas wreath I used pretty much all of the leftover paper pieces that were available after creating the previous 3 projects with it. For details, see the end of this post and go to my YouTube channel to watch all the kit related videos.

Here is the finished wreath:

I punched lots of circles in various sizes from the small paper leftover pieces and from the packaging material (that works great for projects like this too). Then I used up all the burlap and quite much of the sisal ribbon too.

For decoration I added some wooden pearls and paper leaves and flowers from my own stash (older product). This kind of projects work great for de-stashing! So many little bits and pieces can be used. The wooden pearls are adhered with a glue gun to keep then from falling off later.

I´ve wrinkled all the paper circles and layered them on top of each other to create „flowers“ to decorate the wreath.

All in all this too, is a pretty easy to do project, but still makes for a great room or wall decoration. Lay it on a table and add a candle into the middle and you have a really nice Christmas assembly done in no time. Or hang the wreath to a door for additional Chrismas decor.

Here is the start-to-finish video again for you to watch! Hope you like it:

Artist Trading Cards – Studio Forty

Hello and happy December, everyone! It´s again my turn to share a Studio Forty project with you today. Christmas being practically around the corner, I got distracted with artist trading cards, when I actually should have been finishing up a couple more Christmas cards for family and friends. But sometimes distractions like this are really good, so I think it´s OK to spend one evening playing with something else than making Christmas card projects :).

Here are the ATC´s I created for today´s post:

The first set is winter themed. I´ve first misted the background with a blue spray ink and then added the branches onto the bottom part of each ATC. They are stamped with waterproof black ink.

Next I used the snowflake stamps with embossing ink to stamp images onto the „sky“. After that I embossed the snowflakes with white embossing powder.

For decoration I added „faux stitching“ around the edges and stamped a wintery sentiment which I fussy cut and inked with light blue Distress Ink.

Finally I added some liquid pearls details onto the branches. That way they look like winter berries. For details on used product scroll down to the very bottom of this post – all used products are listed there.

For my next artist trading card set I took an early start towards Valentine´s Day. I wanted to create love/friendship themed ATC´s so I chose the Whoo loves you stamp set as my starting point for these four artist trading cards. I might still add a little red stamped heart to each one of them later, just haven´t decided on that quite yet.

For these ATC´s I first cut white cardstock into the right size (2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch). Then I stamped the leaves onto the background with embossing ink and added white embossing powder. After heat setting the powder I took a peach toned spray ink and misted the backgrounds with that tone.

Next I took a water tank brush and some darker brown spray ink to color the leaves. After the background was done I stamped the sentiment speech bubbles and the animals onto a piece of white cardstock and used brown, grey, yellow and red spray inks with a water tank brush to color the images. After that I again added some „faux stitching“ with a black pen around the edges.

After the images were dry I fussy cut them with precision scissors and added some yellow burlap and white lace onto the artist trading cards.

Then all I needed to do was to adhere the fussy cut images onto the backgrounds with paper glue.

To make sure the lace and burlap stay put on their place, I attached them additionally to the background with a stampler. This will keep them from coming off.

I had a great time creating these artist trading cards! And now that I´ve had some fun creative time, I can go and finish off the last Christmas cards for this season.

Wishing you all a lovely, creative weekend and happy crafting!!!

Monochromatic tag tutorial – STAMPlorations

Hello there lovelies, it is again time to share yet another STAMPlorations mixed media tutorial with you guys today. This time I created a monochromatic stenciled and stamped tag with a start-to-finish video.

Here is the tag I created:

For this tag I´ve used one of my new stencils (Leaves 1) on a green toned patterned paper. I´ve added a stamped sentiment (STAMPlorations) and used two tones of green Distress Ink to color the background and to create the leaves pattern onto the background.

I wanted to make the pattern stand out a little bit stronger, so I used a simple trick and added white gel pen outlining to the stenciled images. This way there is more contrast between the same toned paper and the inked leaves. I really like this look alot.

For additional decor I´ve added a DIY dimentional paper flower and some glitter glue as well as the stamped sentiment. This tag is very easy to make! If you use different colours and a different stencil pattern and outline with a black pen, then the result will again be totally different. So many possibilities to use this technique on various projects!! Hope you give it a try!

Here is the video for you to watch:

I hope you enjoyed this little tag idea and get inspired to create something fun with stencil and stamps yourself!!! For more insportation, stop by the STAMPlorations blog – my design team colleagues create lots of lovely projects too that are very much worth seeing!!! And while you are there, join us for a fun challenge or two, too!!!

Happy crafting,

Sanna´s CCB Christmas craft kit – project No. 2

Hello there! Remember the Christmas craft kit I picked from the Canvas Corp Brands online store? Well, it is time to start sharing some Christmas projects, created with that kit. Here is the second one – a set of cards and a start-to-finish video to go with them:

For this set of cards I ´ve used practically something for every item in the kit (except for the canvas flower and the canvas bag – used in the previous project). I´ve also created a DIY background paper to go with the patterned papers from the kit. See the video for full details and the how-to.

The basic design on these cards is pretty much the same on every card, I´ve just changed the order of the papers abit. This way you can easily create a bigger set of cards, using the same basic design idea, but adding little variations. That way there will not be a second card that looks exactly the same.

For a full start-to-finish tutorial, see the following video. I hope you get inspired by this kit and the cards!!!

Sanna´s CCB Christmas craft kit – project No. 1

Hello there! Remember when I shared a video of my favorite CCB Christmas craft supplies with you. I´ve created quite a few projects with the kit supplies and will be sharing them here on my blog during the next days.

This is the first project I made – a canvas present bag. Here is what the finished present bag looks like:
This one was really easy to make. I just needed some fabric glue to adhere the canvas flower on it´s place, a needle and some sewing yarn to attach the buttons and finish the flap.

Here is the full start-to-finish video, to give you a better idea on what I did:

TAGplorations December challenge

Hi there lovelies and welcome to the TAGplorations December challenge reveal! This months theme is: As an optional element you are asked to use: GLITTER. Here is what I did for the reveal:

I used the nesting Manila tag die cut dies to die cut a piece of white cardstock. Next I misted that piece with red Glimmer Mist (Lobster tone). After that I placed one of my stencils (Trees 1) onto the misted tag and applied some Viva Decor glitter paste onto the tag thru the stencil. I decorated the tag with a strip of burlap (Canvas Corp) and some white die cut trees (Elizabeth Craft Designs).

For additional decor I added wooden stars, some Nuvo glitter drops, a half pearl border, a sticker border from my older stash as well as some red and white dotted paper (Canvas Corp). The sentiment circle is fussy cut from an older paper from my stash and I´ve decorated it with Nuvo drops antique rose tone to give it some more dimension. Finally I added some hand drawn „snowflakes“ onto the background just for a fun detail. I finished the tag off with a piece of red and silver ribbon on top. That´s it! Another present tag for this Christmas is done und dusted! I hope you will find some time to play along with us and submit your tag creations HERE! Remember, they don´t have to be just tags, you can make any kind of projects, they just have to have a tag on them :). You´ll find the rules over here. After that, go here to join the fun with us!

See you at TAGplorations, lovelies!

December Mixed Media challenge – STAMPlorations

Hi there everyone, it´s time to share the STAMPlorations December Mixed Media Challenge with you today! For today´s challenge reveal I´ve created a set of Artist Trading Cards.

Here is my set of ATC´s:

I´ve first applied a layer of DIY glitter paste onto the bigger paper (on the background) thru a stencil. Then I misted that piece with brown Glimmer Mist spray. I did the same with the top paper pieces (first misting with pink Glimmer Mist and then applying the DIY glitter paste thru the stencil onto the paper. After the paste was dry, I adhered the pieces together, added some residue tinted texture paste treated music notes paper on top.

Next I decorated the ATC´s with 7gypsies Architextures decor pieces, some paper flowers, printed masking tape and Glimmer Glaze.

On the second card I´ve used a velvet ruffle flower instead of paper flowers, everything else is the same as on the previous ATC. By now you should be familiar with the rules, on how to play along, but if not, be sure to check them out here! Playing along is really easy and the rules are very simple to follow, so do take some time to play along with us also this month!! There are fab prizes to be won, too! Read more here on the STAMPlorations blog. Even though it´s December and we all tend to be very busy this time of the year, maybe you will still find some time to play and join this challenge. It´s a fun one – hope to see you at STAMPlorations!!!

But first Coffee – Studio Forty

Hello there,  it´s my turn to share a layout created with Studio Forty product with you today.  Are there any coffee lovers out there amongst you? Well, I need to confess that I tend to drink quite a lot of coffee and I just love the smell of freshly brewed coffee. The coffee themed stamp set in the shop is super cute, so I used that stamp set as my starting point for this page:

I´ve used various stamp sets on this layout for various reasons. I like owls – and I am a night owl – so I figured it would be a perfect match for this page to use some owls with the coffee theme. I stay up late and then I am sleep deprived and then I need coffee to wake up and keep me going… see where I am getting? So basically that is what this page is about.

I´ve used Tattered Angels spray inks to color the fussy cut,  stamped images. I first stamped them onto white cardstock with waterproof black ink, then colored with matching spray ink tones.

I added a layer of spray ink to the background using a piece of plastic as my transfer medium for the ink. That creates a nice random pattern, but bigger color areas than if I would add the color as direct splatters from the bottle.

I first stamped the owls and all other images with black ink onto a thicker paper that absorbes spray inks well, then I used a fine paint brush to apply the ink. The owls add a fun detail to the page.

Also fussy cutting the stamped images adds more interest and texture to the layout than just directly stamping onto the background paper. Besides, this way you have more control of your images and should one of them not turn out nice, you can simply toss that one and stamp another one and your page will not be ruined by a poorly stamped image.

I´ve again added a date stamp onto the page just to document when I created it and what kind of ideas had been going thru my mind on that day. So this layout is almost like everyday diary keeping.

That´s it from me today. When was the last time you documented something about your everyday life, habits or thoughts?

Happy scrapping,
xxx, Sanna
