Seasonal tags with Glimmer Mists

Hello there everyone, have you been following the Creativation 2018 in Phoenix via social media? Well if you have, you might have noticed the Canvas Corp Brands booth there. It looks fabulous. So much to look at, new product and just eye candy everywhere.

I have been following my team colleagues feeds and have really enjoyed seeing everyone there, thus, I haven´t had THAT much time to be creative (first things first! LOL).  For such moments, there is always a plan B to make something small – tags, ATCs,  and small mixed media projects. I chose tags this time – here is what I created:

I started with the snowflake tag. First I die cut the snowflake from white cardstock, then took a black tag and placed the stencil on top. After that I applied the Aquamarine Glimmer Mist through the stencil. This is an imporatant step for the base of tag 2: now carefully remove the wet, misted stencil and press the residue spray ink onto a piece of white cardstock. This creates the background for the fall tag. Then finish the snowflake tag by adding faux stitching with a white gel pen around the edges and adhere the with Jack Frost misted snowflake as a centerpiece. Decorate with Nuvo Drops and a 7gypsies brass stud. Add a word sticker and ribbon.

Next create the fall tag – take a Mixed Media Origins Fall paper and color the fall leaf images with yellow, brown and orange Glimmer Mist tones (see material list for details). Next fussy cut the leaves and die cut a tag from the already misted stencil pattern area. Add black ink splatters with black Glimmer Glaze and let dry properly. Adhere the leaves overlappingly, attach a word sticker or two. Add faux stitcing with a black gel pen and finish off with a ribbon.

For the rose tag – first die cut a tag from white cardstock, then apply a layer of Silk Glimmer Mist to the tag piece, let dry and then add random stamping with a writing background stamp and ink. Take a Mixed Media Mini Origins Art Collection paper from the Wings series and color the rose image with various shades of red and pink Glimmes Mist and green Glimmer Mist(see the material list for all used colors in the end of this post). Then fuss cut the piece and adhere to the tag with paper glue. Add some lace and ribbon as well as a heart shape for decoration. Finish off with faux stitching around the edges, some twine and ribbon as well as a word sticker.

For the travel/explore tag take a Maze cardboard piece and trace a tag pattern onto it, then fussy cut. Next apply Sugar Maple Glimmer Mist over the background and let dry. Now take a small manila tag and mist it with Summer Glow Glimmer Mist and add a Architextures Parchment Rub-on onto the manila tag. Cut a piece of Ordre du Jour paper and add it onto the tag for additional detail. A a with Linen Glimmer Mist misted inspirational tag on top. Then adhere the yellow misted manila tag to the tag. Decorate with a brown misted paper rose, some fussy cut leaves and a Architextures Trinkets Ink Pen. Finish off with a word sticker and some rope and twine.

I love creating tags, the more I make the more ideas I get. And you can take the same basic materials and just change the color sheme and you are good to go and create a tag for yet another theme/season. Tags are also a great way for using up little scraps and altering/including even older materials from your stash. And they are quick to make and a nice addition to a present!

Happy crafting,

All about winter – take two – STAMPlorations

Hello there, everyone, we have now reached the middle of the month, so it´s time to remind you about the January TAGplorations challenge over at the STAMPlorations blog. This months theme is „ALL ABOUT WINTER“.

And this is my second project for this months challenge:

For this project I used the Manila Tags Nesting Dies set again to die cut both tags first. I´ve used a leftover piece as my starting point. I had misted the blue cardstock with white spray ink thru a circle pattern stencil, so it didn´t need much more decoration in my opinion. For the smaller tag I used a the Christmas Tree 1 stencil with iridescent texture paste to create a tree pattern to the background. I then just added little bits and bobs for additional texture and interest (pearls, glitter alphas that were die cut leftovers, a purple snowflake brad inlet, a shiny purple brad and a resin snowman).

The die cut alphas are there just for texture and additional shine, they really don´t build any reasonable sentense at all 🙂 – they are just there for decorational purposes. I had a great time creating this tag. Hope you will join this winter challenge if you haven´t already!!! See you at STAMPlorations blog (for rules and details, see this post).

Happy creating,

All about winter – TAGplorations

Hello there, everyone and Happy New Year 2018!!!! I hope you had a lovely Christmas time and a nice New Years evening. Let´s start the new year with a creative TAGplorations tag challenge: create a project, featuring a tag around the theme: ALL ABOUT WINTER!

Here is my project for the reveal:
I first die cut a manila tag from black cardstock with the Manila Tags Nesting Dies by STAMPlorations. Then I die cut the second, smaller tag, from blue cardstock with the Tags 1 set. The snowflake is a lefover piece from another project and it perfectly goes with the winter theme, so I used it as a focal point on my tag.

I used the Christmas Tree 1 (my stencil series at STAMPlorations) and misted some trees with Sandy Beach Tattered Angels Chalkboard ink onto the background. The snowflake was originally white. I used a Chalkboard spray ink to color the snowflake blue (Wave tone). Then I added some faux stitching around the edges with a white gel pen and decorated the snowflake with some rhinestones. The little white snowflakes are hand drawn on the background. And finally I added a stamped sentiment to the tag and finished the tag off with a piece of ribbon.

Now it´s your turn to join the challenge. TAGplorations CHALLENGE GUIDELINES:

TAGplorations December challenge REMINDER

Hi there, everyone! Today I´d like to share another TAGplorations December challenge project with you. With this project I´d like to remind you to join our monthly challenge over at the STAMPlorations blog. This one is all about tags and this months challenge is „All about Christmas“.

Here is my second project for this months challenge reveal:

For this tag I first inked the blue cardstock with a Distress Ink blue tone that is slightly darker than the background. Then I used a white gel pen to draw around the inked stencil image. This way the pattern stands out better from the same toned background and makes it look more interesting. I had already punched the snowflakes from the paper, so I just applied a double sided adhesive underneath and then added some Silk Microfine Glitter on top. It sticks to the surface and creates lovely, shimmery snowflakes as a centerpieces to the tag.

After that I just needed to add some faux stitching, a darker cardstock piece onto the background and some half pearls for decoration. The sentiment  in the middle is a leftover piece from a project I did for Canvas Corp – it actually is a piece from the paper collection name I just fussy cut to work as a sentiment for this particular tag.

Finally I just added a strip of ribbon on top and this tag was all done. This will make yet another nice present tag for my Christmas presents this year. Now is your turn, if you haven´t played along with us already, here is where you will find all the details about the challenge (also read the rules over here).

See you at TAGplorations,

Sanna´s CCB Christmas Craft Kit – Project 3

Hello there again! Today I´d like to share the third CCB Christmas craft kit project with you. A set of DIY present tags.

After finishing the present bag and the cards, I still had plenty of material left for these tags in my kit. So I used all the leftover pieces that were of suitable size and die cut some tags from them.  Here they are:

I used my die cutting machine with some STAMPlorations nesting die cut dies to cut the tag bases from the patterned paper that was in the kit. There are also tags, that were die cut from a DIY paper – see the links at the end of this post, to watch all the kit related videos on my YouTube channel.

For decoration I added some older glitter alphas (Pink Paislee) and some resin DIY flowers.

I had a lot of fun creating these tags. I plan to make quite simple present packaging for the presents that I plan to add these tags to. That way they will stand out even more under the Christmas tree.

For a full start-to-finish tutorial, I´ve again recorded a video for you to watch. I hope you get inspired by this kit and by the videos and get yourself a kit. They are on sale for a very low prize (value is about USD 40,-), so get them, while they are available!!! This kit is not only suitable for a Christmas theme thru it´s elegant color sheme, but can also be used for birthdays and Valentine´s themes even. So take advantage of this offer :)!!!

Here is the video – hope you enjoy watching it:

For further information about the kit, go to my YouTube channel and watch all kit related videos here. There is also a more detailed post up over at the Canvas Corp Brands blog – so hop over there to leave some love. They love reading your comments too!!!

Monochromatic tag tutorial – STAMPlorations

Hello there lovelies, it is again time to share yet another STAMPlorations mixed media tutorial with you guys today. This time I created a monochromatic stenciled and stamped tag with a start-to-finish video.

Here is the tag I created:

For this tag I´ve used one of my new stencils (Leaves 1) on a green toned patterned paper. I´ve added a stamped sentiment (STAMPlorations) and used two tones of green Distress Ink to color the background and to create the leaves pattern onto the background.

I wanted to make the pattern stand out a little bit stronger, so I used a simple trick and added white gel pen outlining to the stenciled images. This way there is more contrast between the same toned paper and the inked leaves. I really like this look alot.

For additional decor I´ve added a DIY dimentional paper flower and some glitter glue as well as the stamped sentiment. This tag is very easy to make! If you use different colours and a different stencil pattern and outline with a black pen, then the result will again be totally different. So many possibilities to use this technique on various projects!! Hope you give it a try!

Here is the video for you to watch:

I hope you enjoyed this little tag idea and get inspired to create something fun with stencil and stamps yourself!!! For more insportation, stop by the STAMPlorations blog – my design team colleagues create lots of lovely projects too that are very much worth seeing!!! And while you are there, join us for a fun challenge or two, too!!!

TAGplorations December challenge

Hi there lovelies and welcome to the TAGplorations December challenge reveal! This months theme is: As an optional element you are asked to use: GLITTER. Here is what I did for the reveal:

I used the nesting Manila tag die cut dies to die cut a piece of white cardstock. Next I misted that piece with red Glimmer Mist (Lobster tone). After that I placed one of my stencils (Trees 1) onto the misted tag and applied some Viva Decor glitter paste onto the tag thru the stencil. I decorated the tag with a strip of burlap (Canvas Corp) and some white die cut trees (Elizabeth Craft Designs).

For additional decor I added wooden stars, some Nuvo glitter drops, a half pearl border, a sticker border from my older stash as well as some red and white dotted paper (Canvas Corp). The sentiment circle is fussy cut from an older paper from my stash and I´ve decorated it with Nuvo drops antique rose tone to give it some more dimension. Finally I added some hand drawn „snowflakes“ onto the background just for a fun detail. I finished the tag off with a piece of red and silver ribbon on top. That´s it! Another present tag for this Christmas is done und dusted! I hope you will find some time to play along with us and submit your tag creations HERE! Remember, they don´t have to be just tags, you can make any kind of projects, they just have to have a tag on them :). You´ll find the rules over here. After that, go here to join the fun with us!

See you at TAGplorations, lovelies!

Happy day – TAGplorations challenge reminder

Hello there, everybody! I hope you haven´t forgotten about the new TAGplorations monthly challenge over at STAMPlorations blog. It´s a fun one, so I hope you find time to play along. Incase you haven´t already, here is a kind reminder to do so :-)…

With a reminder tag project:

I´ve used pretty much the same techniques like on my reveal day project (see here) on these tags, except that I´ve added a die cut word on top of the colored and stamped image and some word stickers to go with that. And this time I didn´t make a card, but left the tag as it is. I figured, I could combine the cards and the tags with giving them to someone with a present, maybe.

I´ve again added some faux stitching and used Distress Ink for coloring. The stamped image is again heat embossed with white embossing ink and the die cut word as well as the alpha stickers got a layer of Glossy Accents on them for dimension. The little flags on the upper right corner are from a stickers sheet by Jenni Bowlin. Again trying to use some of my older stash here and there :).

I really do like these framed flower stamp images from STAMPlorations alot. I´m not very talented in coloring, but these are fun to color, because it does not show here if you are not that good at it :). So now it is again your turn to get creative! Do take a look at the project my DT colleagues have created for your inspiration and then grab some goodies and start creating!! There is still plenty of time to join in!!!

Happy crafting,

TAGplorations October challenge reminder

Hello there lovelies! Time to remind you of the TAGplorations monthly challenge. Remember the theme was FALL and as optional elements you can use colors ORANGE, RED and GOLD. There is still plenty of time to join in on this challenge, so start creating and play along! Here is my reminder tag for additional inspiration:

For this tag I´ve first die cut the red paper with the Tag #1 Nesting Dies (from the STAMPlorations store – see details at the end of this post). Then I´ve take a piece of tissue paper that came as a parcel filling and treated that piece with acrylic paints, a Gelli Plate and Hidden Hearts stencil to create pattern onto the tissue paper. Next I stamped some circles onto the paper and fussy cut them along the edges. They are adhered onto the tag with a matte varnish.

I then added some heavy paint thru a stencil (Forest of Leaves by STAMPlorations) on top of the images, let that dry and decorated with a rhinestone birdie, a goldgen leaf paperclip, a paper flower and a stamped, fussy cut image (stamp by STAMPlorations – see details at the end of this post). I had so much fun creating this tag. It was messy and in the middle of the process (when adding color to the tissue paper) my kids came to my scrap room and the look on their face said more than words ever could. Carefully they asked what on earch I was doing :)… Well, it might have looked kinda crazy to them, but in the end, when the pieces found their places, the tag turned out really to my liking. No matter what my kids might think of me/it ;-)…

So now is your time to get messy (or maybe not!). Remind you of the rules on how to play along (see the blog for details) and start creating! There are nice prizes to be won and lot´s of fun to be had just waiting for you!! Hope to see you join our challenge!
