November Stencil Challenge reminder – STAMPlorations

Hello and Sunday! Have you played along with the STAMPlorations Stencil Challenge this month yet? No? Don´t worry, there is still enough time. To bring you to stenciling mood, the DT girls have again put up a reminder post over at STAMPlorations blog.

Here is my take for the reminder post:

I used the new „Onions in Raws“ stencil – see this video for more details on why there is a new version – for the background.

For decor I used older ephemera from my stash and added a stamped sentiment into the middle using the Party Time clear stamp set. This is also available at the STAMPlorations store.

There is still time to join the November challenges! I hope you do! Just remember to play by the rules, if you want to be eligible for the prizes! Other than that, have fun creating!! Looking forward to seeing your creations!!

Also throughout November there is a great offer at the STAMPlorations store! If you buy product worth total USD 10,- (after discounts and before shipping), you get to choose one product from the store worth upto USD 7,- for free!! How cool is that??

Also remember that my discount code is still valid, so take advantage of the 20% discount!!

Happy stenciling,

Stencil challenge reminder – STAMPlorations

Hello lovelies and welcome to the June STAMPlorations stencil challenge reminder post! Whew, what a sentence!! 🙂 Without further ado, here is my take for the June reminder post:

I again created a double spread into my art journal. The theme of these pages is: The Story of Living Things. I bought an old book about „living things“ a year ago from a trift store. I thought now was a good time to start using it!

During the social isolation the nature got a well deserved pause from us humans and this art journal is a „hommage“ on all living things, except us humans.

On this page I used glossy paint and spray ink on the background. It created a faux wooden pattern. On top are clear stickers from STAMPlorations as well as white texture paste applied thru one of my stencils. The birdies on a branch are by STAMPlorations as well as is the stamp set I used to stamp it with. The leaves are hand drawn on old book paper and the text is from the trift store book.

For the second page I used white paint and spray ink on the background to create a resist area. Then I stamped with STAMPlorations stamps onto the background and added a green tinted texture paste thru one of my stencil designs around the edges. The focal point of this page are the flowers, stamped on an old book page, then misted and highlighted with Posca pens.

I really enjoyed creating this inspiration spread for the reminder post! Now is your turn. There is still plenty of time to play along. Remember to follow the rules and have fun with this months challenge!!! Can´t wait to see what you create!

Trust Art Journal page

Hello everyone and happy June! Today it´s again time for the June STAMPlorations stencil challenge reveal. For today´s reveal I have created a double page art journal spread.

Here is my art journal spread:

I started by applying black chalk paint onto the background and after that layer was dry, I placed the Festive Bloomdala stencil onto the page and applied red and pink Distress Paint thru the stencil onto the surface.

After that I took the Leaves 1 stencil from my stencil line at STAMPlorations and applied green and white Distress Paint thru the stencil onto the background to create a leaf pattern. For the second page I did the same black background, but instead of dabbing the paint thru the stencil, I misted the paint that was left over on the stencil and pressed the wet Distress Paint area onto the black background. That way I created a negative image of the original pattern. I especially love how the „leaves“ turned out.

For finishing touches I took out my beloved Posca Pens and outlined the paint patterns with the pens. That created even more detail and highlighted the patterns nicely. For final detail I also added a quote that spoke to me and took my Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks and added random splatters onto both pages.

Creating in my art journal has been so meditative and relaxing in the past months! I am really enjoying it and try to do it on very regular basis. It helps sort my thoughts and ground me.

Now is your turn – by now you know how these challenges work – see details HERE and read the rules HERE :). Have fun!!! Can´t wait to see what you make for this challenge!!

Stencil challenge reminder – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and happy Friday! Today it´s again time to remind you all about the May STAMPlorations stencil challenge and the fact that there is still time to play along with it!

Here is what I created for the reminder post:

For this page I used the Fall Floral Trio and the Make Marks 1 stencils with Distress Paints. For the tag I used the negative image of the Lattice stencil.

I just applied yellow and purple Distress Paint thru the stencils onto the background and let the layers dry. Then I took the word „today“ from the Sweet Cravings stamp set and stamped with black stamp ink. there is also the Newsprint Background Bits #1 clear sticker on the background – cut into smaller strips.

For the tag I misted a Distress Paint covered stencil with water and pressed the image onto a piece of white cardstock. Then I cut the piece into a tag size and added the faux stitching, ribbon and the clear sticker sentiment.

For finishing touches I also added the Buttercups and Butterflies stamp set flowers, fussy cut them and colored those with Distress Crayons.

Now it´s your turn. There is still enough time to play along with the stencil challenge. Hop over to the blog to see the other inspiration projects and then join us! Hope to have inspired you to play along!!!

Happy stenciling,

May stencil challenge – STAMPlorations

Hello lovelies and welcome to STAMPlorations May Stencil Challenge reveal. I have been really obsessed working in my art journal for these challenges and this month is no exception.

Here is what I created:

I also have a little step-by-step prepared for you:

I started by adding two light acrylic paint tones as my first layer to the page. Next I took the newsprint background bits #1 stickers (also by STAMPlorations) and added them in randomly cut bits on top.

After that I added some stamped images with black stamp ink using the Mixed Media Grunge stamp set.

As my third layer I first added some red paint with a palette knife, then placed a stencil (Dots n´Beans) on top of the wet paint and wiped with a baby wipe over the stencil. That way part of the paint got „lifted“ and the yellow background can be seen on those areas. I repeated this step also with green paint and Trees 1 stencil as well as blue paint and Lupinus stencil.

As my last steps I stamped some flowers and leaves (using the Bloomdoodles stamp set) onto an old book page. After that I fussy cut them. Before adhering them on place I added white paint splatters onto the background and let it dry. When everything was dry I adhered the fussy cut elements on place and added a Good Things clear sticker onto the page. For finishing touches I also added some color to the fussy cut elements with Posca Pens. That´s it.

Now is your turn to play along – hop over to the STAMPlorations blog and take a look at the reveal post. I am pretty sure it will inspire you to play! And then, just be sure to play by the rules and HAVE FUN!
