#the100dayproject – Days 71-75

Hello and happy Sunday! Today I´m shortly sharing the next faces of my personal #the100dayproject2021 challenge. Like mentioned before I drew a face a day on a pre-prepared, die cut tag. You can also see all the posts on my Instagram account (here), since I am now done with the drawing challenge. And you can also watch all the videos directly on my YouTube channel too (here).

Day 71

For this one there is no video, just this slideshow.

For this set I did various types of faces and also used different media again, not only Neocolor 2´s. For the first one I wanted to do a little darker, black and white type of face and she somehow turnout out to be a nurse. Maybe due lockdown and Covid19 situation going on. The second one was a one-line type of face because of the bold background which I wanted to keep.

Day 73 was full-on colour and again my dearly loved Neocolors. For the following day I wanted to try an “older” face – meet wrinkles and tiredness. And the last one has lots of Dina Wakley Gloss Spray on the grey cardstock, thus I used Posca´s, because Neocolors would not work on the glossy surface so well.

Happy drawing,

Fairytales Art Journal Sheet

Hi there, lovelies and happy Sunday! I´ve been trying to create in my art journal on more regular basis the past days. Just adding color, texture and quotes or sayings to a page. Nothing too complicated or too time consuming. And it feels good to just add a few lines, a few colors and a date. I find it really good to add a date to every page to tell  me when I did what. I think it will be also interesting to see how my pages develop from one date to another. Here is what I did yesterday (I´ve done a few before this, but sharing those later..):

I had a piece of blue paper with a speech bubble on it that said: “No one is too old for fairytales”. I felt I wanted to add that sentiment into my art journal. It´s slowly turning into an artful quote book. Almost every page has a quote or saying of some kind on it. I really like collecting quotes this way.

I´ve painted the background dark with acrylic paint, then let the paint dry REALLY well, before adding the hand drawn leaves, firefly´s and “flowers”. I´ve learned my lesson after destroying ton´s of black and white pens in the process of being totally impatient. The paint really needs it´s drying time and there is no way around it. After that you can doodle, journal and add details with pens and markers and it will work out. I did my doodling with a white gel pen (uni-ball), then added some colour with Posca pens.

It´s a fairytale forest of a kind, I guess. I´ll leave you with this page today. I created it with nothing special in mind, just had a fun playtime in my art journal and added another page with a date. I am hoping that I will develop during these daily (well, at least weekly) exersizes and that when I look back in a year or so, I will be happy I took the time. Will also be interesting to see what kind of themes come up :). Very relaxing, too, this kind of art time :). Have a great day!!!

Let´s stay creative,
