Hello everyone, it´s time for my December Elizabeth Craft Designs guest blog post tutorial. It has been snowing a little here in Austria recently which inspired me to create a set of clean and simple Christmas cards using Shimmer Sheets, Ornate Snowflakes die set and Holiday Cheer clear stamp set.
Here is how I created the cards:
Step 1: Place a piece of white Soft Finish Cardstock into a die cutting machine, then place the big snowflake (or two smaller ones) on top of the paper and die cut.
Step 2: Release all the die cut snowflakes from the dies and remove the negative pieces.
Step 3: Apply Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape onto the die cut piece that will create the card background.
Remove the protective layer of the adhesive.
Step 4: Cut a piece of Shimmer Sheet into a suitable size and attach to the adhesive.
Step 5: Add another layer of Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape onto the Shimmer Sheet areas. Adhere onto a white cardbase.
Step 6: Adhere the die cut snowflakes onto the open areas with Kid´s Choice Glue.
Step 7: Place the card into a stamping tool and stamp a sentiment with black ink onto the card. Decorate the card with faux stitching and rhinestores or other embellishments of your choice. Repeat these steps with all cards. You can create variations by changing the Shimmer Sheet colors and the instead of stamping with black ink you can add a heat embossed sentiment to the cards.
The Shimmer Sheetz add an elegant touch to the simple card idea – just take a look at the lovely shimmer on this card:
Here are the finished cards:
This was my last tutorial for this year. I hope I have been able to inspire you to play with your Elizabeth Craft Designs products throughout the past year.
