Hello and happy sunny Saturday! First it was too cold and then it´s just way too warm. What a crazy weather we have nowadays!! There even was a tornado in the Czech Republic this week (too close to where we live in my opinion)! Very scary! Also I am staying inside still, as my pollen allergy is really bad this year… and since I´m “hiding inside” I have more than enough time in my hands to do some crafting! So I have been seriously stash busting recently!
I´ve used up some residues from my design team kits, while I was a dt member at The Wild Hare Kits. These 2×2 inch square bits by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee are just perfect for creating card backgrounds. You get a really cool “quilt background” with them and then just need to add just a few pieces of ephemera and such for decor and the card is done!
I also used up some Shimelle glitter alpha stickers for this card and to make sure they stay on place I used me sewing machine instead of glue! The little doily was gifted to me by my lovely friend Lizzy and the ephemera is from my time at The Wild Hare Kits. Some faux stitching with a black pen for finishing touches and the card is ready to be sent on it´s way.
I usually do my backgrounds using different mixed media techniques, but during the years of my crafting hobby I´ve managed to gather quite a selection on patterned papers, embellishments and such, so it´s about time I use those products up. It is very possible that I will not be able to finish this goal in my lifetime (yes, there is so much stuff!), but I am at least trying!!
What about you? Are you a hoarder? Take my advice: stop hoarding! Just buy what you need and use it up! First then buy more! Believe me, I know what I am talking about!
Hi there and happy Saturday! Today I´m stopping by to share a a VERY PINK clean and simple card made out of all kinds of bits and bobs left from kits, packaging and happy mail.
For this card I used a backgroup paper gifted to me by Donna (thank you!). The sentiment piece is from a Bramble Fox acrylic shape packaging and the other pieces are from a Wild Hare Kits kit from my time at their design team. I just love how this turned out! The flamingo got a bit of glitter on it (done with Nuvo Drops).
And the amazing plate I´ve displayed my card on is from the awesome Tulü Porzellan store in Vienna. Do check them out if you are in the area! Such a nice store with such pretty kitchenware!
I hope you have a gorgeous weekend, everyone! Here in the Vienna region we have a heat wave. First it was crazy cold and then suddenly it´s +34 degrees. I´m trying to stay inside due to the heavy pollen exposure at the moment. My allergy has been sooo bad this year.
Hello everyone and happy Wednesday!! Today I am sharing my finished The Wild Hare Kits November #30daysofthankful minibook with you and I´m pretty excited about it. Be prepared for a long, photo-heavy post (and a flip-thru video). So here goes:
So the above list shows you all the themes for each of the 30 days. And here is my take on it. Featuring days 1 & 2 plus the cover and the opening page:
I´ve used bits and pieces from my previous kits on the first pages. You can find some Shimelle Sparkle City on these pages (from my September Petite Kit), combined with the November kit. The alpha stickers on the opening page are from my own stash as well as the tiny round number stickers are too.
Here are the days 3 to 6. I´ve written some of the journaling with an old typewriter and some by hand, depending on how thick the page I was writing on was. The Jane Hadfield “This is Family” sticker pack was just perfect for my 30 days of thankful album. The transparent stickers had some many of the album themes featured and I just kept adding them onto almost every single page! Loved using them!!!!
Above are the days 7 to 10. For some themes I had more photos, so I did two spreads of the same theme (like the Savoury theme). I´ve also added papers from my own stash onto these pages as they worked well with the album colors in my opinion. They are from an older My Mind´s Eye pack.
Here are days 11 to 15. I had these really tiny pockets (2×2 inch) in the minibook and so I figured they´d be perfect for the Truly Grateful 2×2 inch papers that were in my October kit. I used plenty of them on such pages as they had the perfect size and also some of the phrases worked really well with the day theme. And just look at those baking theme stickers from the Jane Hadfield sticker pack – aren´t they just too cute?
And here are days 16 to 21. Some of the journaling cards on these pages are from the October kit (Office Hours by Pinkfresh Studio). and then again some Jane Hadfield stickers (that pack goes a long way!) and also some Shimelle´s Sparkle City in there. I´ve printed all my photos for this album with my Canon Selphy printer – really fast and easy :)!
Here are days 22 to 27 and some of my fave themes are on these pages :). Like the pages for days 24 and 25 – I just love the Jane Hadfield papers and stickers with the tiny faces and they were just perfect for here :). I´ve also got some Office Hours (Pinkfresh Studio) chipboard stickers on these pages. I didn´t have many left form last months kit, but now those few ones also found a perfect spot in this album. I´ve written my journaling in German this time just for a change.
And finally, here are the last pages, featuring days 28 to 30 and a last page of the album. I´ve added the Truly Grateful 2×2 papers onto the last pages because they perfectly fit the thankful-theme in my opinion and add a nice detail to the minibook. This was a really fun project to create! The daily prompts were easy to follow and gave the book a nice form. I am sure I´ll appreciate doing this type of album in a few years time, because during time, the focus of one´s life is bound to change and it will be nice to look back into this album and see how life and values were at that time. Here is the video flip-thru of the minibook:
I´ve done a few “A week in the life”-albums in the past and I am really grateful for making them. So many little details of daily life documented in there, from years ago. So I hope you take the time and make your own album – you won´t regret it once you are done. Remember to use #30daysofthankful and #thewildharekits, when sharing your projects on social media. We´d love to see them!!!
