What a trip! – The Nifty Pixel Sweet Thing digi kit

Hi there, ready for some more „Sweet Thing“ digi kit inspiration?? This kit is designed by the fabulously talented Em Straface aka The Nifty Pixel and I absolutely adore this one. Well, as you might know, I love all her kits, so this one is again no exception, but this particular one is perfect for example for those summer vacation photos :).

Here is a preview of the kits contents (and if you click the photo, the link will take you directly to the ScrapStacks store):

And this is the page I created:

I used a grid form and lots of photos on this particular layout and I´ve written a few words about the process over at the Nifty Pixel blog, so hop over there to read more about it there :).

I hope you get inspired to try some hybrid scrapbooking, too!
Happy scrapping,

Happy times – The Nifty Pixel

Here comes pastels… :-). Not my usual go to colors, never have been, but for some reason, I kinda changed my mind when I saw the gorgeous Feelin´ Chipper The Nifty Pixel digi kit full of beautiful pastellic tones.

Absolutely adorable, right? And here is what I did with this digi kit – again, as always, a HYBRID take :). I love printing these papers out with my Epson color printer and picking the ones I want/need. So practical to just press the print button and just like that the desired papers are there to use.

Almost everything in this layout is from the Feelin´ Chipper digi kit. Only the hearts and the stamps (Gossamer Blue kit), the black Glimmer Glaze splodges (Tattered Angels) and the black stickers (Gossamer Blue kit) are not digital/hybrid. Other than that everything is from the kit. I love, love, love these paper. Sooo gorgeous! Here are a few detail shots too:

How about you, have you already tried going hybrid/digital? I tell you it is great fun!!! Here is a link to the Scrap Stacks store, where you can find The Nifty Pixel designs. Have fun shopping!!!

Happy hybrid scrapping,

And there is more:
and even more ;-)… how about a freebie??
annddd…. this is my layout made with the kit (and just a few bits and pieces from my stash..):

and a few detail shots:

I have first used a blue digi plain paper, added some digital elements from the kit (again using InDesign) onto the paper and first then printed it with my color printer. Next I just cut the paper in size to fit onto a piece of cream cardstock (from my stash) and glued it down. I then fussy cut some elements and glued them on their places. I also added some ink spray splodges (green) and a few stickers and hearts from my stash to go with it all. Then all I did was to outline the blue paper with faux stitching and to write a short journaling to go with the photo.

That´s it! I am really enjoying the layering part of the elements and first then printing the paper, when there is already lots of stuff „going on“ on the background. I just loved the element designs from this kit – as you probably can see from the amount of layers there are on the blue paper :). Such great fun!!! I hope you give this kind of hybrid a try.

Oh, and don´t forget to go HERE for some more inspiration and just in case also adding the direct link to the store :-).

Have fun scrapping and enjoy your weekend,

Cutie Pie – The Nifty Pixel

Happy late Thursday evening, everyone!!! What have you been upto today? We had a day off today and were enjoying the gorgeous weather outside. Summer is definitely my favorite season and I am sooo happy it is that time of the year again. I even got a bit sun kissed today. Funny, how ones mood reflects the weather – or vise versa – as I woke up and saw the gorgeous sunshine, I just could not help but to smile widely.

I had been eating some ice cream and just relaxing with my family the whole day. Taking some photos of my blooming garden (if you are interested, then hop over to my Insta page to take a look). And we ate home grown strawberries today. Boy were they good! Did I mention that I love this time of the year?? 😉

I am desperately trying to build a bridge between the text above and my layout, but I am not doing very well, am I… oh well! At least the photos are from the same season. And the kits name is Sweet Thing and the designs are just perfect for this time of the year. There, the connection between the first two paragraphs and the layout is done :). So time to reveal some June digi goodness from The Nifty Pixel!!! Again, totally in love with these desings (and yes, I know I am repeating myself here every month..but what can you do..the designs are ALWAYS fabulous..).

And now, the kits:

And this is my first layout made with the kit. I did something experimental with this months kit. I played around with the elements and the patterned papers in InDesign. And wow, that was truly mind blowing!!! The result is a layered paper. What I did is I added the elements onto the patterned paper in the InDesign programm and then printed the paper with my Epson color printer (A3 format).

This is what the „layering“ procedure looked like on my computer. I went and added all kinds of „rub-on“, text and splodges designs over the orange patterned paper and when I was happy with the end result, I printed the paper. This is how the printed paper looked like, before I started adding photos and details:

Pretty cool, huh? And very easy to do. I am not very good in using digital elements AS digital elements and playing around with them, but this is what I managed to do with just a few clicks. I find that pretty cool. And now I already had a playful, interesting background to start with.

So I did quite a little with the page as I was already very happy with it. I just added the photos and fussy cut some elements pieces and glued them on their places. I also added some black Glimmer Glaze here and there for additional detail and took some washi tape and combined it with the dymo label hashtag designs.

In this close-up you can see, that there are both „real“ and digital ink splodges here and there.

Even the title is added directly to the background design. How fun and easy is that!

Finally all I needed to do was to add lots of journaling which I chose to write along the edges of the paper. This was a really fun experiment and very mind blowing to me – I will for sure experiment more into this direction with the next kit too :).

Happy (hybrid) scrapping,
xxx, Sanna

Beim Klettern – The Nifty Pixel

Hello there! I´ve kept sharing quite a few hybrid pages with you lately and here comes another one :). Can you see I am enjoying hybrid scrapping???!! The reason is simple – the designs from The Nifty Pixel are just screaming „scrap me!!!“ :-). The „Poster Art Paper Pack“ is no exception. Loooooved this scenery the second I layed my eyes on it!!! Here is peak on the whole kit:

Such a gorgeous kit, isn´t it?? And I had the perfect photo to go with the paper too. Last summer we went to a forest rope park where you can climb thru various tracks of different difficulty scales. Let me just add here that I am afraid of heigts… now, imagine me going thru a black track… I had a few moments of true fear here and there along the tracks but I made it. And talk about adrenalin rush!!! All in all it was a lot of fun and I am proud we/I did it. Could be, that the kids want to do it again this summer… 😉

I´ve again added some DIY rub-ons to the background. Again made with the help of the digi kit and some Grafix Rub-Onz transfer film. Other than adding a few little bits and details here and there, I´ve pretty much kept the background as it is. It is very bold and I Inf that it does not need so much to go with it. Just a photo, some journaling and a few details is enough.

This paper would be also perfect for hiking photos… might need to use it again :).

I bet you cannot wait to get your hands on these designs?? Well, here is a direct link to the digi design store where you can „shop ´till you drop“ 🙂 :-)!

Have fun (hybrid) scrapping!!!
