You´re special – MMCC inspiration card

Hi there, how are you doing with this months Mixed Media Card Challenge? Need some additional inspiration? Well, then hop over to the MMCC blog to check out the additional inspirational cards my design team colleagues have been creating along the past weeks.

I also made another one for this months challenge – here it is:

Sanna LippertI first applied golden texture paste (by Imagine Crafts) thru a stencil (The Crafter´s Workshop) onto the background, then cut a smaller piece of white cardstock, inked it with orange Distress Ink and then stamped some apples with red ink onto it. Next I colored the seeds and the stem with black and brown markers. The leafs have a green glitter glue coating on them.

The sentiment is stamped directly onto the background and accompanied by rows of rhinestones which I colored with Copics to make them match the colors of the card.

Sanna LippertThere is still plenty of time to join this months challenge so I hope you will take the time and create a fun, mixed media card! I´d love to see what you make!

Happy creating,
xxx, Sanna

See the world – MMCC May reveal

Hello there lovelies! It´s again time to share this months Mixed Media Card Challenge blog´s May challenge. The challenge theme is REFLECTIONS and you can use WATER as optional element.

This is how I interpreted the theme:

Sanna LippertI created a sunset scenery. I first used Brusho with watercolor paper to create the water surface, then added yellow and white ink to create the reflection of the sun. For the sky I used Distress Inks (blue, pink and orange) and inked first the sun and then the blue sky. Next I placed a The Crafter´s Workshop stencil over the sky and applied some orange and pink ink thru the stencil onto the sky. The clouds are created with water and the birds are hand drawn.

Here are some detail shots:  Sanna Lippert Sanna Lippert Finally I wanted to add some interest to the water surface, so I rubbed Tim Holtz Rubbings onto it. The sun also has a layer of Gold Metallic creative Medium by Imagine Crafts on it for additional interest and dimensionality. The stencil here is also by The Crafter´s Workshop. The mountains on the horizon are fussy cut from Through the Lens – Stone patterned paper set by Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Sanna LippertI hope you find the time to join in on this challenge with us!!! Looking forward to seeing your creations!!!

See you at MMCC,

Smile – MMCC April challenge, Vol. 2

Hello again lovelies!!! Have you seen the current Mixed Media Card Challenge blog´s challenge??? It´s a fun one with a SUNSHINE theme! As additional element you are asked to use BRICKS.

I thought I´d make a second inspirational card this month. Here it is:

Sanna LippertI wanted to concentrate on the brick elements on my second card. There is still sunshine on this card too, this time not that bright, as on my first card though :).

Sanna LippertI again used an old book sheet as a starting point. Added some spray inks (Tattered Angels) onto it, then added a golden, stenciled texture paste sun and some inked, stenciled clouds and hand drawn birds. The brick wall (cut with this Elizabeth Craft Designs die cut die) is tilted and looks like a townscape. I´ve used the Through The Lens – Metal papers from Els van de Burgt Studio for building the townscape. A sentiment stamp adds a nice detail.

I hope you find some time to play along with us this month!!!
See you at MMCC,

Such a lovely day – More MMCC inspiration

Happy Wednesday everyone! Time to share some more card inspiration for this months Mixed Media Card Challenge! This moths challenge is all about the color blue. Sounds like a fun challenge!! I hope you will find some time to play along with us.

Remember the 12×12 inch paper piece I created for this challenge? This particular piece is from the upper right corner of that paper sheet.

There is some blue spray ink, some blue stamping (hand carved stamp), some blue toned iridescent paste as well as some hand drawn blue marker circles on the background. I´ve then added a blue burlap piece onto the card, assemblied some paper flowers and My Mind´s Eye brads next to the burlap ribbon. After that I´ve used a blue sticker sentiment (I think that was by My Mind´s Eye too). Finally, I added some blue rhinestones as well as blue Glimmer Glaze droplets onto the card as additional detail.

So now it´s your turn – if you haven´t played along yet, there is still plenty of time to do so! Hope to see you at MMCC!! Have fun with the challenge!!

Misted and stenciled layout background – Canvas Corp Brands

Hello there, everyone! Summer is finally here! We´ve had our share of some pretty hot weather the past days. Even though it has been so warm, you will not hear me complain. I love summer, I really, really like the warm weather more than the cold and dark winter days. You might have also noticed that many of my layouts have summer photos on them. A coincidence? I do not think so ;-).

And therefore, I will be sharing another summer themed page right now :-). This one features my boys on a vacation a few years back. Half buried into the beach sand playing with their Pokemon figures. Fun times & great memories.

I´ve used quite a few Canvas Corp Brands products on this layout. Starting from the kraft cardstock, spray inks, canvas ribbon and the little paper embellishments. I wanted to add different layers of ink, paste and paint here and there and kept the colors very natural (yellows, browns, blueish green/patina & sandy tones). Here is a little video on what I did – it has been a while since my last one… hope you like this one!

And here are a few close-up photos. The stencil I´ve used is by The Crafter´s Workshop. I´ve tried to add all product infos to the video, but if you have any questions, leave me a comment and I will do my best to answer them :).

These little black & white maritime tags are so cool as you can change their color to match any project just by spraying them with some spray ink. I´ve pretty much misted every item on this layout, by the way. The journaling is written on a DIY kraft tag and hidden behind the photo.

Here is a close-up of one of my favorite spray ink tones – the Glimmer Mist Verdigris. It has beautiful golden/bronze glimmer combined with a beautiful blueish ink tone.

Cannot wait for our next vacation – could be that you will be seeing some more vacation & summer themed layouts in the future too. Have fun scrapping and put your mixed media goodies in action ;-)!!
