Clean and simple Christmas cards

Hello and happy Wednesday! Today I´m up with another set of Christmas cards, this time in clean and simple style. I´ve used some of the gorgeous STAMPlorations stencils on these to create the patterns.

See? Very simple and easy card ideas! I took a piece of red patterned paper (leftover piece that was on my table ;-)..) and placed the stencils on top. Then I took a blender brush and applied the golden Nuvo Mousse thru the stencil on top. After the mousse was dry, I outlined the patterns with white to make them better stand out from the background.

For the third card I used Ivory Coast Nuvo Crackle Mousse thru a STAMPlorations stencil. As a base I used a dark red cardstock piece. For decor I added some felt and wooden stars and into the middle I added a stamped sentiment. Easy peasy!

On the other cards I just added little details, like a STAMPlorations clear sticker and a wooden reindeer piece (who has a Nuvo Vintage Drop red nose, by the way ;-)..). For the other cards I just added a in brown stamped Christmas sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and inked the edges a little to give it a vintage look. The star is wood veneer combined with a star sticker. So only very little details, lots of red and a little gold with white. Very christmassy in my opinion!

Dude, you are so old

Hello and happy Saturday!! How are you doing? I´ve been organizing our closets during the past weekends, because it was about time and it´s a good activity during the pandemic in my opinion. It´s kind of addictive too! I´ve been influenced by Marie Kondo and that method has taken over our closets. And it feels so good!!

Now to today´s card:

I did this one for a colleague at work – he is turning 50. He has a great humour, so I could put this type of card together for him. This was so much fun to do!

The background is done with Dina Wakley gloss sprays (in spring during one of her FB lives). I just used it as a card background and added some stenciling on top (STAMPlorations stencil) and decorated the card with a Tim Holtz paper doll, that got a red clown nose and then I added the stamped sentiment. I had a great time creating this card!!!

And today, again, I had been organizing clothes. I´ve gathered quite a pile of stuff that I am partly going to donate, partly sell and some of the stuff has already been donated to close family and friends. Feels good to give those things away and for someone else to find joy in them. I cannot wait to organize more!! It might be spring by the time I´m thru with every drawer in this house, but at least I´ve spend my time doing something good inside these walls.

See you tomorrow with a Christmas tag tutorial, so be sure to stop by this space then :). xxx, Sanna

Hello and happy Thursday! It´s again „Studio Tekturek-day“ on my blog today. Have you been following their social media sites recently? If not, there are great news – their STORE IS NOW ONLINE. So if you have been waiting to be able to shop some Studio Tekturek goodness, go to: shop.studiotekturek.com!!

The papers and stickers are all from the Strawberry Shake collection and I love the versatility of this collection so much. It´s so perfect for everyday scrapbooking! The other products I´ve used are either from my own (older) stash (Wycinanka chipboard and Technique Tuesday stamps) or from other manufacturers, like Bramblefox.

I´ve again recorded a start-to-finish video (partly spoken, partly fast-forward). I hope the video inspires you and gets you scrapping yourself!! I´ll be back with another scrapbook layout and video on the 29th of November. See you then again!

Wishing you a fabulous day and happy scrappy moments!

Metallic toned die cut cards – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello everyone and happy Thursday!! Today I´m back at Elizabeth Craft Designs blog with another guest design team member post. This card idea started from idea to use white Soft Finish Cardstock in a different way. Also, due to the pandemic weddings had to be postponed by many people this summer and are now slowly taking place, the need for wedding cards moved to fall. Thus the love theme today.

For this card idea I´ve used only the same dies and yet they all look so different. It´s because I´ve treated them with a metallic media. My starting point by each of these cards was the same; white Soft Finish Cardstock!

All 3 cards still look so different due to the color choices. The dies are the same, only the colours vary. And the background paper I´ve used for matting everything.

I´ve again recorded a step-by-step video for you to watch – hope you like the idea!

Be sure to check out the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog for written steps and more photos of all cards.

I hope you could inspire you today to see the versatility of plain white cardstock. There are so many ways to give it a different look and it´s always a great starting point for many projects.

Also I would like to note that hoarding various media is not a good idea. This happened to me recently when I opened one of my Nuvo Embellishment Mousses. They had ALMOST completely dried up! I was able to save a few, but also had to toss quite a few. So, take my word for it: use the product you buy. Use it before it get´s old! So these cards were also an opportunity to use up some of those mousses. You might be seeing other metallized projects showing up here on my blog – I learned my lesson and am for sure going to use the product now and not be sorry later :).

I´ll be back next month with another Elizabeth Craft Designs guest member project. Hope to see you then!!

Happy crafting,

Groovy

Hello and happy (groovy?) Monday!! I missed WCMD (World Card Making Day), but hey, I actually DID make cards that day. Only, that the projects will be shared to a later date :-D! So to do some belated WCMD celebrating, I´m sharing a fun card I created past weekend. It just makes me smile and who does not need a smile on a Monday?!

I just love how this card turned out. It´s nothing complicated, really, but it´s the look on his face with the red nose enamel dot and the sentiment „groovy“ that brings a wide grin on my face. Hope it does on yours too!!?

So it´s again Monday and it´s going to be another tough week, but I hope to bring some happiness and joy to you with this card. I love the colours too. The background is from a a Dina Wakley Collage Collective book and the stenciling is done with one of my stencil designs „Winter Flowers“ using a Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in pink. The man is from people sets by Tim Holtz and the sentiment is written by my lovely friend Lizzy. And the enamel dot is my older stash.

Can´t wait to give this card to someone special! And I need to mention here that I definitely do need a day between Sunday and Monday. It always seems that the weekends are too short, by the time I have got my energy levels up for all kinds of fun stuff, it´s again Sunday and time is running out.. Anyone else with me on this?

Hope you have a great week with lots of crafty time, beautiful fall weather (hopefully sunshine!) and nice long walks between all the work crazy.

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna
