Flieg mit mir zum Mond

Hello and happy Wednesday! Today I am again stopping by to share another „junk art“ piece. I gathered various bits and bobs from my junk bags together and they resulted in this piece:

It is a random piece of corrugated cardboard that I painted with Distress Paints and some Dina Wakley Gloss Spray first. Then I added some stamping with Klartext (by Dani Peuss) stamps with black ink and then took a glimmer misted jar lid and adhered that onto the piece. the vintage paper dolls are by Tim Holtz and they got little wings from residue paper pieces (old Basic Grey papers). Then some Nuvo Mousse stenciled and Gloss Spray misted paper to the side and a white ribbon piece I painted with Distress paints to go with it.

On top some wripped Prima flower petals and silver star puffy stickers and a stamped sentiment that says: „Fly with me to the moon“. The other word „mondsüchtig“ translates to „moonstruck“.

This piece could be hung on a wall on it´ s own or framed in a 3D frame. I really like how it turned out and it is junk art again, which makes me very happy. BUT it didn´ t take me only 5 minutes to make it – it took a tad longer :).

Have a great evening,

#the100dayproject – Days 86-90

Hello and happy Sunday! Today I´m shortly sharing the next faces of my personal #the100dayproject2021 challenge. Like mentioned before I drew a face a day on a pre-prepared, die cut tag. You can also see all the posts on my Instagram account (here), since I am now done with the drawing challenge. And you can also watch all the videos directly on my YouTube channel too (here).

For this set I was coming towards the end already. After drawing the Queen of Hearts I wanted to give a try on Corpse Bride. So that was the first one. The floral tag went perfectly with the monochromatic bride in blue. For the second one I had pre-treated the die cut tag with india ink and therefore it was quite busy already. I figured white, black and red would work well, and first drew the „pop-art“ face only in red. However it disappeared into the background, so I added black lines for contrast.

The 3rd one was again full on colour, because I just felt like that again. Day 89 was my second (?) – I´ve lost count – paste treated tag, so I had only so little space for a face, so I went with what I knew and did smaller faces. this time in one-line-style. The last one was a heavily gelli printed tag with lots of colour on it, so I chose a red headed girl for that one. I also only at this point figured, that I could let the hair „flow“ in wind. After 89 drawings *LOL*. Thus, flowing hair here.

As you can see everything is a process and you learn as you go, some things come easier as others :).

Happy drawing, xxx, Sanna

„one-line“ face

Hello and happy Tuesday! I´ve been doing #the100dayproject for over 70 days now and in between the drawn tags I also did a few experiments in my Ranger art journal. Here is one of them – a „one-line“ face:

I drew this one on a page I had pressed some wet Nuvo Embellishment mousse residue onto and then just using my Stabilo all black pencil drew a face never lifting the pencil from the paper.

It turned out very masculine and I really like how the lips and eye areas look like. I didn´t want to add anything else to the page (for now). Maybe later I might add some journaling, stenciling or paint details to it, but I am still just admiring it as it is.

Wishing you a lovely day!

Today I feel good AJ page

Hello and happy Saturday! We had a gorgeous sunshiny winter day yesterday and I´ve missed the sunshine so much already! This lockdown is hard enough on it´s own and when the weather outside is dull and grey and depressive, it does not help at all. I personally immediately notice a change in my mood, if there is sunshine and I can see the blue sky outside!

Thus, today´s page – „Today I feel good“ :).

I work in the Ranger art journal at the moment (the black one) and there are various pages in that journal. This is a canvas page and I´m loving the feel of this type of a page. I added only a little; various paints on the background, on top a layer of stenciled Tonic Embossing Mousse thru one of my own stencil designs (available at STAMPlorations). Then some „asemic writing“ on top and on top of that all, a fussy cut collage collective book piece from Dina Wakley. Then I just added the word and some rhinestones to highlight the eye/eyebrow.

I love art journaling at the moment. It helps me get thru all my feelings and moods. I have in addition started to work more consequently on my condition and added sports to my routine. It´s now been four weeks in a row that I´ve been able to keep it up. And it makes me feel much better, bit by bit. As you can see, I am trying to live according to my 2021 words: growth, strength and dedication. I´ve set myself goals and want to reach them. At fifty, life inevitably changes and I notice the change and want to find new paths. It´s time. So I work on them, tiny bits every day – change is change, no matter how small!

January Stencil Challenge Reminder – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and happy Friday! Have you played along with the STAMPlorations January Stencil Challenge yet? No? Don´t worry – there is still enough time to join in. So speaking of joining in, the DT girls have prepared another inspiration post for you guys.

Here is my take for it:

The background was created using Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays. I love the effect they create!!! Love, love, love it! And on top I´ve added some stenciled pattern with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse. I used one of my new stencils, called Abstract April Showers. And on top for decor I added one of Tim Holtz paper dolls and a handwritten sentiment, made by my dear friend Lizzy.

This is the reminder post for the January 2021 stencil challenge and if you haven´t joined in with us yet, I sure hope you do. There is still plenty of time to play along with us. Let´s make this a great year project wise and get those PHD´s (projects half done) done and dusted. And if it has stenciling on it, you are good to go and submit it to this challenge :)!

Remember to play by the rules (listed at the end of the challenge post) to be eligible for the prizes!!! And other than that, have fun creating!!! Cannot wait to see what you make! Also, feel free to take advantage of my personal discount code at STAMPLorations:

Happy stenciling,
