Stray strong – Art journal page

Hello and happy Tuesday!! Today I´m again stopping by to share another page from my art journal. I´m working in my Ranger art journal at them moment, so I have various type of pages I can play with. Today, it´s a kraft paper page.

I have some stencil prints on the page (see the turquoise Gloss Spray pattern?). It´s done with my new stencil called „Amaranth“ and with Dina Wakley Gloss Spray. I love the look of that simple print in the bold and bright turquoise against the kraft background.

The other patterns are either Dina´s paints or her Scribble Sticks. The tag is covered with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse, Elizabeth Craft Designs washi tape and Dina´s older sentiment stamps (see details on the supply list).

Then there is some asemic writing, done with a white Posca pen. The tree is colored with a black scribble stick. After that I added a layer of Nuvo Crackle Paste on top. I love the look! That is pretty much it. The swirly black thing is done with Dina´s black paint.

That´s all for today! I´m at work again, so for me holidays are over. We are still on the 3rd lockdown here in Austria and it will go on a while still (almost to the end of the month). Still, I am hoping this year will be better to all of us. We sure all do need some good news for a change, right?

Do come back on Thursday to see what I created for my Elizabeth Craft Designs monthly post :). See you then!

One Little Word 2021

Hello and happy Saturday!!! I have been thinking about my word for 2021 for a while now and it was not as an easy choice as last year! I´ve been thinking about the perfect word to carry me through 2021, but I just couldn´t put my finger on one single word and say: „that´s it!“. So I´ve chosen three words for 2021 to guide me through the year.

Here is a page desplaying my chosen words:

So the words I chose are: dedication, growth and strength. I plan to carry these words in my mind and heart throughout the year and hope to reach the goals I´ve set myself.

This word should guide me in all areas of life through this year. Whatever I decide to do, I´ll do it with commitment. Whether it´s sports, work, crafting, family life, me or anything else.

Growth on the other hand is growth as a person, on a mental level and development in all areas. Again whether it´s work, sports, my art or me in general.

And last but not least, my third word: strength. This brings all the previous words together and connects them to a stronger bond. Here, I also want to develop my strengths – whether it´s sports, arts, work or any other areas of my life. I will need strength to carry on and to remind me that I want to be dedicated and grow and develop.

For creating this page I used plenty of various media. Stencils are from my stencil line at STAMPlorations, Dina Wakley paints were added and Dylusions sprays were used. The stamps are also by STAMPlorations and I´ve also added some tissue here and there, gifted to me by a lovely ATC swapping partner from all the way in Australia. I´ve also got some Tonic Studios Crackle Paste on the page as well as Posca pens. And some date stamping to record the date.

I also felt the urge to use bold, strong colours again for a change. It´s been a while I´ve used them and at the moment I just cannot get enough of them.

Last year my word was self-care and little did I know how well it fit the year 2020, when I chose it. It honestly scared me a little how well the word matched the year, so that is also why I´m putting extra thought to this years word(s). As I am asking the universe for these things, I might as well do it with my whole heart. Fully committed. I am a little fearfull (which should be a good thing, right?) of putting the words out there and hope that at the end of the year I´ll be happy I chose these words.

I hope you enjoy my art journal page share today! Wishing you all a lovely start into 2021! Have a great weekend!!

Clean and simple Christmas cards

Hello and happy Wednesday! Today I´m up with another set of Christmas cards, this time in clean and simple style. I´ve used some of the gorgeous STAMPlorations stencils on these to create the patterns.

See? Very simple and easy card ideas! I took a piece of red patterned paper (leftover piece that was on my table ;-)..) and placed the stencils on top. Then I took a blender brush and applied the golden Nuvo Mousse thru the stencil on top. After the mousse was dry, I outlined the patterns with white to make them better stand out from the background.

For the third card I used Ivory Coast Nuvo Crackle Mousse thru a STAMPlorations stencil. As a base I used a dark red cardstock piece. For decor I added some felt and wooden stars and into the middle I added a stamped sentiment. Easy peasy!

On the other cards I just added little details, like a STAMPlorations clear sticker and a wooden reindeer piece (who has a Nuvo Vintage Drop red nose, by the way ;-)..). For the other cards I just added a in brown stamped Christmas sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and inked the edges a little to give it a vintage look. The star is wood veneer combined with a star sticker. So only very little details, lots of red and a little gold with white. Very christmassy in my opinion!

No sentiment card

Happy Friday!! My mom wished for cards without sentiments that she could use or universal purposes. I am used to creating cards with sentiments and making one without one feels strange.

This was one of the first tries. Simple in designs, because it has to suit many purposes. I am still struggling with this idea but will for sure make more in the future. Just because it´s challenging for me :).

I used Nuvo Crackle Mousse with Winter Flowers (one of my stencil designs at STAMPlorations) on the background. Then added a big fabric flower, a button and a golden ribbon in the middle. All mounted on a piece of light yellow (love this happy yellow tone!) cardstock.

What type of cards are the ones you struggle with? And do you make cards without particular sentiments/greetings? I´d love to see ideas on those, if you do, so leave a message here, so I can check your versions out :).

Do Good AJ page

Hello there and happy Monday evening! I´m stopping by to share an art journal page with you. This one is just random play, while trying to get my mind free of things bothering me.

How´s your Monday getting along? I feel drained after work today – already can hear my bed calling my name *LOL*. I think it´s partly because of the back paint I´ve been experiencing lately. Still some side-effects emerging from time to time, post surgery, I think.

Art usually helps – but I feel too tired for that even. What is your recipy for overcoming total tiredness? Except for the obvious – sleep? When I´m this drained, it usually affects my mood in a bad way and I really hate, when that happens. So if you have any tips for survival, I´m all ears!!!

Like mentioned before, this page is just a result of random play. I misted a background with spray ink, putting fussy cut circles here and there. Then I outlined the circles with black paint, waited for that layer to dry and added Distress Crayons. I also removed some of the crayon with a baby wipe (thru a stencil). That way the stencil pattern appears. The stamping is a planner stamp set by Elizabeth Craft Designs and other than that I used a STAMPlorations stencil to create the crackle paste images. For finishing touches I added a quote.

OK, that´s all from me today. I´m feeling bedtime coming earlier today 🙂

This week can only get better from here on 😀 – wishing you a lovely, creative week!!!
