Daily Art Practice – Day 16

Hello and happy Monday! The page of my Daily Art Practice 2022 w/ the Artist Almanac is live again. Today I cut the full page into two smaller pages, so one page fits not only 2 days, but four. And it is nice to do smaller formats in between days.

Now anyone who follows Nat knows her townscapes. I just didn´ t have the heart to cut this one into pieces, so I just did something you learn at school: I continued the scenery and added the full piece into the middle. And it was FUN!

Here are some detail photos, too:

I really like how this one turned out – I obviously didn´ t invent anything on this page myself, it´ s just the piece continued in the best way I could. And I love the colours on this one so much too. Thanks for a gorgeous, inspring almanac page Nat!!!

And here is the Denglisch translation again: Such a dump / such a pop stand.

And we will see each other hopefully tomorrow again!
Take care, xxx, Sanna

Holiday card

Hello and happy Monday! Today´ s card share is another stash busting share and a holiday card of a different kind for someone, who does not like a traditional Christmas card.

I took my Neocolor 2 crayons and a water tank brush out and after applying the old silver stickers onto the paper, applied the crayons to create a watercolor look.

For the sentiment I used the Elizabeth Craft Designs Classic Christmas Special Kit´ s stamp set and Nuvo Drops for small details. For stamping I used the Distress Oxide Iced Spruce tone.

A simple holiday season card and I am proud to have used some older product again. Wishing you a good week!!

Frohe Weihnachten

Hello and happy Sunday! A few weeks ago I organized my studio area and since then I have been putting “older” product into good use. This lovely Canvas Corp Brands paper from my DT time there is so cool to color and creates really fun Christmas cards, so I used all of it for a set of cards.

I used my Neocolor II crayons with a water tank brush and added colour to the black and white paper. Then I stamped and heat embossed a Klartext stamp sentiment to go with the background. Some Nuvo Vintage Drops for decor and the cards were done in no time.

These are happy and fun Christmas cards and really flat, so they are easy to mail too. And I really like the heat embossed sentiments on top. They are very simple, while the background is much “louder”. A good balance in my opinion.

Wishing you all a great start into the new week tomorrow!

#the100dayproject – Days 91-95

Hello and happy Sunday! Today I´m shortly sharing the next faces of my personal #the100dayproject2021 challenge. Like mentioned before I drew a face a day on a pre-prepared, die cut tag. You can also see all the posts on my Instagram account (here), since I am now done with the drawing challenge. And you can also watch all the videos directly on my YouTube channel too (here).

For the next to last set I did a pop-art-face, because the tag was quite large, so it was a good one to draw that type of face onto. The second face has really strange proportions. I could not do a set of faces without once adding droplets, so this one got loads of them.

The last three had really gorgeous colours on the tags already, so I didn´t want to hide them. Therefore I went with a black Posca pen drawing for them. That way the colorful background really pops.

Happy drawing,

#the100dayproject – Days 86-90

For this set I was coming towards the end already. After drawing the Queen of Hearts I wanted to give a try on Corpse Bride. So that was the first one. The floral tag went perfectly with the monochromatic bride in blue. For the second one I had pre-treated the die cut tag with india ink and therefore it was quite busy already. I figured white, black and red would work well, and first drew the “pop-art” face only in red. However it disappeared into the background, so I added black lines for contrast.

The 3rd one was again full on colour, because I just felt like that again. Day 89 was my second (?) – I´ve lost count – paste treated tag, so I had only so little space for a face, so I went with what I knew and did smaller faces. this time in one-line-style. The last one was a heavily gelli printed tag with lots of colour on it, so I chose a red headed girl for that one. I also only at this point figured, that I could let the hair “flow” in wind. After 89 drawings *LOL*. Thus, flowing hair here.

As you can see everything is a process and you learn as you go, some things come easier as others :).

Happy drawing, xxx, Sanna
