Hello there everyone, have you been following the Creativation 2018 in Phoenix via social media? Well if you have, you might have noticed the Canvas Corp Brands booth there. It looks fabulous. So much to look at, new product and just eye candy everywhere.
I have been following my team colleagues feeds and have really enjoyed seeing everyone there, thus, I haven´t had THAT much time to be creative (first things first! LOL). For such moments, there is always a plan B to make something small – tags, ATCs, and small mixed media projects. I chose tags this time – here is what I created:
I started with the snowflake tag. First I die cut the snowflake from white cardstock, then took a black tag and placed the stencil on top. After that I applied the Aquamarine Glimmer Mist through the stencil. This is an imporatant step for the base of tag 2: now carefully remove the wet, misted stencil and press the residue spray ink onto a piece of white cardstock. This creates the background for the fall tag. Then finish the snowflake tag by adding faux stitching with a white gel pen around the edges and adhere the with Jack Frost misted snowflake as a centerpiece. Decorate with Nuvo Drops and a 7gypsies brass stud. Add a word sticker and ribbon.
Next create the fall tag – take a Mixed Media Origins Fall paper and color the fall leaf images with yellow, brown and orange Glimmer Mist tones (see material list for details). Next fussy cut the leaves and die cut a tag from the already misted stencil pattern area. Add black ink splatters with black Glimmer Glaze and let dry properly. Adhere the leaves overlappingly, attach a word sticker or two. Add faux stitcing with a black gel pen and finish off with a ribbon.
For the rose tag – first die cut a tag from white cardstock, then apply a layer of Silk Glimmer Mist to the tag piece, let dry and then add random stamping with a writing background stamp and ink. Take a Mixed Media Mini Origins Art Collection paper from the Wings series and color the rose image with various shades of red and pink Glimmes Mist and green Glimmer Mist(see the material list for all used colors in the end of this post). Then fuss cut the piece and adhere to the tag with paper glue. Add some lace and ribbon as well as a heart shape for decoration. Finish off with faux stitching around the edges, some twine and ribbon as well as a word sticker.
For the travel/explore tag take a Maze cardboard piece and trace a tag pattern onto it, then fussy cut. Next apply Sugar Maple Glimmer Mist over the background and let dry. Now take a small manila tag and mist it with Summer Glow Glimmer Mist and add a Architextures Parchment Rub-on onto the manila tag. Cut a piece of Ordre du Jour paper and add it onto the tag for additional detail. A a with Linen Glimmer Mist misted inspirational tag on top. Then adhere the yellow misted manila tag to the tag. Decorate with a brown misted paper rose, some fussy cut leaves and a Architextures Trinkets Ink Pen. Finish off with a word sticker and some rope and twine.
I love creating tags, the more I make the more ideas I get. And you can take the same basic materials and just change the color sheme and you are good to go and create a tag for yet another theme/season. Tags are also a great way for using up little scraps and altering/including even older materials from your stash. And they are quick to make and a nice addition to a present!
Happy crafting,
