Masculine, rustic boho style layout – Canvas Corp Brands

Hello there, everyone and happy Saturday!!! It has been a LONG, LONG while, since I made a scrapbook page. I have been „distracted“ by other types of projects recently. Then this photo fell into my hands, while cleaning up the mess the burglars left behind when they broke into our house earlier this year…and I don´t know if it was due to the emotional ups and downs after the burglary or something else that made me feel the urge to document some stories again.

I wanted to document my thoughts about my dad onto this page. He sadly didn´t get to live a very long life and I never really got to say goodbye. So there are lots of things that still dwell in my mind from time to time. I wanted to record these things, put them on paper. The journaling, because very personal, is hidden inside the envelope. I put it there, so my boys one day can read it and get a better idea of our family history. It is part of their story too.

So a big part of my layout making is documenting, putting thoughts and feelings down on paper. BUT I also have fun with the product!!! 🙂

I´ve used plenty of Canvas Corp Brands (Tattered Angels, Canvas Corp & 7gypsies) product on this layout. In the video you will find all the used product listed and will get a better idea on how I proceed when creating a layout. Hope you like it!

Stenciled artist trading cards

Hello there, fellow creative peeps! I love stencils and media and creating with those. Thus I am sharing a set of artist trading cards created with lots of stencils and media. Here is the set I created:

Sanna Lippert, stenciled artist trading cardThe first one´s background is misted with a green Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist spray. Then I´ve used a The Crafter´s Workshop stencil and added pearlescent greenish Creative Medium on top of the misted background. I took a separate white piece of cardstock and added red and orange Distress Ink thru a stencil onto the paper. After that I fussy cut the flower forms and outlined with a black pen. Next I added a metal brad in the middle of both flowers and added two stickers for decoration. The white dots are hand drawn. Just a little something to add interest to the ATC.

Sanna Lippert, stenciled artist trading cardThe second one was originally white cardstock. I sprayed blue spray ink (Tattered Angels) onto a stencil and then pressed the image onto the paper. Followed with a second layer and a new stencil I did the same. That creates this funky background look. Next I grabbed some misted paper leftover pieces and punched butterflies. I layered two various sizes and on the colored ones there is DIY glitter paste applied thru a stencil on those butterflies. All stencils I´ve used are by The Crafter´s Workshop. Here on this video you can see, how I make the glitter paste myself. Finally I just added a few typed words into the middle (typed with my old typewriter).Sanna Lippert, stenciled artist trading cardThe third ATC is kind bold in color. I first misted the background with orange Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels), then I stamped a sentiment (Elizabeth Craft Designs) onto a piece of white cardstock and misted that yellow. Next I mixed some transparent texture paste together with red spray ink and applied that thru a The Crafter´s Workshop stencil onto the background (in the middle..). I had a leftover circle punched piece on my desk which I taped with Tim Holtz tissue tape onto the ATC. Then I placed another TCW stencil on top of the ATC and applied yet another layer of transparent texture paste thru it. While the paste was still wet, I took a cardboard box and poured microbeads onto the wet areas. They stuck to the paste really well, but you still need a box of some kind to gether the residue beads into the jar. This layer needs to dry properly. After it was dry I fussy cut the stamped sentiment and glued it on top of everything else. Sanna Lippert, stenciled artist trading cardThe last ATC has a purple Glimmer Mist background (again Tattered Angels sprays). After that I applied pearlescent Creative Medium on top of that ink layer thru 2 different stecils by TCW. The second stencil comes as a mask and a stencil, so I used both to create the blue areas between the pearlescent medium areas. Next I again stamped a stentiment (love these two Elizabeth Craft Designs sentiment stamps!) on white cardstock which I then misted with red Glimmer Mist. Then I adhered a piece of ribbon into the middle, some half pearls (by Zva Creative) decorate the left side with a DIY tissue paper rose. The right side only needed the fussy cut sentiment on top in my opinion. Sanna Lippert, stenciled artist trading card Lots of layers with all kinds of product I really like to use. Fun, creative times!!!

Happy creating,

See the beauty – Canvas Corp Brands

Hello there lovelies!!! I was really happy to hear that Canvas Corp Brands wanted to keep me in their team for another year. I am really enjoying being part of the team – what an  inspiring and fun bunch of people they are!!! Here´s to old and new DT colleagues and fun creative times with them!!!

Remember last year when I created this 4×4 inch canvas for the DT introduction? Well, I thought it might be time to create another one for 2016 ( I know I´m a bit late with posting this 4×4, but better late than never, eh?). Last year was all about pink, this year I went a shade darker. It´s purple I felt drawn towards to! I know a few of my scrappy friends will raise an eyebrow or two after reading my color choice..lol! BUT, it felt good to go purple this year. So I did!

Here are the materials I used for my canvas:

Sanna LippertThe canvas is a actually a canvas board in 4×4 inch size, as I didn´t happen to have a „real“ canvas in that size at home. I might actually consider framing the canvas board behind a shadow frame before hanging it onty my wall.

About the materials: I used one piece of the Archival Cast Figureheads, 2 silver feathers, silver yarn, Frantage Glitter Mix, Micro Beads, various shared of purple spray ink ( Glimmer Mist Tea Cup, Glimmer Mist Cranberry Zing, Glimmer Mist Black Cherry & Plain Jane Baseboard Iris) a black pen, Gesso and Texture paste. There is also a chipboard piece from my very old stash and a hand made clay rose. And that´s pretty much it. I did a couple of layers of misting and gessoing before I was satisfied with the result. Here is what I ended up with:

Sanna Lippert Sanna Lippert Sanna Lippert Sanna Lippert Sanna Lippert Sanna Lippert Sanna LippertSo this year I am going for color. I´ve figured I might as well accept the fact that I am (at least at the moment) a color girl. I adore the soft and white layouts, when other crafty peeps create them (just look at my fave layouts at Pinterest, and you see what I mean) BUT I cannot create such. I end up using bold colors. So bold & colors it be for 2016!

Here ´s to another creative year with Canvas Corp Brands! I am very much enjoying being part of this team! Make sure you stop by the CCB blog on regular basis, so much inspiration and beautiful artwork is being shared over there by my lovely DT colleagues!!!

Happy creating!!
