Such a lovely day – More MMCC inspiration

Happy Wednesday everyone! Time to share some more card inspiration for this months Mixed Media Card Challenge! This moths challenge is all about the color blue. Sounds like a fun challenge!! I hope you will find some time to play along with us.

Remember the 12×12 inch paper piece I created for this challenge? This particular piece is from the upper right corner of that paper sheet.

There is some blue spray ink, some blue stamping (hand carved stamp), some blue toned iridescent paste as well as some hand drawn blue marker circles on the background. I´ve then added a blue burlap piece onto the card, assemblied some paper flowers and My Mind´s Eye brads next to the burlap ribbon. After that I´ve used a blue sticker sentiment (I think that was by My Mind´s Eye too). Finally, I added some blue rhinestones as well as blue Glimmer Glaze droplets onto the card as additional detail.

So now it´s your turn – if you haven´t played along yet, there is still plenty of time to do so! Hope to see you at MMCC!! Have fun with the challenge!!

Sweetness – more Mixed Media Card Challenge inspiration

Hello there, lovelies! Like promised I am today sharing some more mixed media card inspiration. Remember the first post? I created a 12×12 inch sheet at once and used different parts of it as a background for my card(s).

This is the second card from that sheet. I´ve used the upper left corner for this one.

There is some misting on the background, some iridescent paste (applied thru a The Crafter´s Workshop stencil) and some hand carved stamp stamping. All kept in various blue tones. Then I just added an old ribbon from my stash, some paper flowers, enamel dots and a sticker sentiment. I´ve also added some blue Fragments (glued down with Glossy Accents).

I hope you will find time to join us and play along. Here is a link to some more card inspo :). Have fun with the challenge!!

Smile – The Mixed Media Card Challenge July reveal

First of July, can you believe it?!! Where has the time gone? Therefore it is again time to share the new Mixed Media Card Challenge with you :). This time the theme is to use the color BLUE and as an optional element you can add a VASE.

I´ve created several cards for this months reveal. I will be revealing those bit by bit during the next weeks. Here is a peek on the background starting point.

I´ve used a big 12×12 inch watercolor paper as a starting point and first misted it with water spray, then added blue spray ink onto the surface and let it spread freely around the paper and form random patterns.

When the paper was dry I next added random stamping with blue ink here and there using various hand carved stamps from my stash. I then went along and kinda split the paper in 4 areas and added various media on these areas. There is pearlescent paste on one corner, added thru a The Crafter´s Workshop stencil. On the other corner I´ve added some Fragments (as a „glue“ I used Glossy Accents). On the lower left corner I´ve applied paper glue and dabbed some embossing powder on those areas. I then used then heat set it with a heat gun. And finally, on the right bottom corner I´ve added Glossy Accents here and there and then poured a layer of Distress Glitter on those areas. I´ve kept all media in blue tones.

The only thing missing is a vase :). On this particular card you see the Distress Glitter piece. I´ve then added a few pearl arrows from Prima (colored blue with a marker), a blue twine around the circle, a flower and a brad as well as some outlining with a blue pen and a stamped sentiment (again using a hand carved stamp here).

Now it is your turn – but before you get those blue papers and inks and media out, make sure to hop over to the MMCC blog to take a look at the gorgeous cards my design team colleagues created. Also make sure to come by later this month for more inspiration :). Have fun with the challenge and see you at MMCC!!!
