Metallic toned die cut cards – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello everyone and happy Thursday!! Today I´m back at Elizabeth Craft Designs blog with another guest design team member post. This card idea started from idea to use white Soft Finish Cardstock in a different way. Also, due to the pandemic weddings had to be postponed by many people this summer and are now slowly taking place, the need for wedding cards moved to fall. Thus the love theme today.

For this card idea I´ve used only the same dies and yet they all look so different. It´s because I´ve treated them with a metallic media. My starting point by each of these cards was the same; white Soft Finish Cardstock!

All 3 cards still look so different due to the color choices. The dies are the same, only the colours vary. And the background paper I´ve used for matting everything.

I´ve again recorded a step-by-step video for you to watch – hope you like the idea!

Be sure to check out the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog for written steps and more photos of all cards.

I hope you could inspire you today to see the versatility of plain white cardstock. There are so many ways to give it a different look and it´s always a great starting point for many projects.

Also I would like to note that hoarding various media is not a good idea. This happened to me recently when I opened one of my Nuvo Embellishment Mousses. They had ALMOST completely dried up! I was able to save a few, but also had to toss quite a few. So, take my word for it: use the product you buy. Use it before it get´s old! So these cards were also an opportunity to use up some of those mousses. You might be seeing other metallized projects showing up here on my blog – I learned my lesson and am for sure going to use the product now and not be sorry later :).

I´ll be back next month with another Elizabeth Craft Designs guest member project. Hope to see you then!!

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna

Hugs – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello lovelies! I am just popping in today to share a quick card with you. This one is made with one of my fave background die cut dies by Elizabeth Craft Designs. I love this heart pattern!

Basically the card consists of the die cut paper piece, matted onto a piece of patterned paper. Then a stamped sentiment from a Joset Designs clear stamp set and some paper flowers and liquid pearls for decoration. Fast, fun and easy!

Hope your day runs as smoothly as this card was easy to create!!!
Have a lovely day,
xxx, Sanna

Happy Valentine – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello there lovelies. So Christmas – and that holiday related paper projects – is somewhat done and dusted for a while again and it is time to start thinking about the next holidays, crafty wise, that is. Thus, how about Valentines? It is actually not that far away anymore, so better get those pinkish papers and heart designs out and start crafting, right? I did :).

And I created these two cards:

Here is what I did:
1. Take the Heart background die cut die and two pieces of colored Soft Finish Cardstock of your choice (I chose to use the thones Misty Mauve and Pink Peach). Cover the cardstock with clear Double Sided Adhesive and place the die cut die over the paper. Run thru your di cutting machine and repeat with the second piece.
2. First remove the loose parts of the hearts from both background pieces and leave them for later. Next adhere the heart background onto a card base. Then adhere the loose heart background pieces onto their places, just always use the „fillings“ from the other card. That way you get a more interesting image.  Repeat until all pieces are filled and adhered on their places. I left a few empty and added some glitter glue to those areas for additional interest.
3. Now die cut the word Valentine from the Love Sentiments set out of the same cardstock tones you used for the background or from Clear Double Sided Adhesive. Add glitter to the adhesive piece (I used Pink Peony Silk Microfine Glitter here).
4. Use the Stitched Fishtail Banners to cut ivory cardstock into right size. Adhere the die cut word onto the banners.
5. Finally, decorate the cards with wooden hearts, stickers, glitter, pearls or flowers. Or whatever you feel works the best.

The Die Cut Design Team girls all did their take on this months theme „From The Heart“. Just follow this link to see what they have been upto. There are some amazing creations waiting for you at the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog. And you can find all these die cut dies over at the „coming soon“ section, if you´d like to take a better look on this LOVEly release!!

Let´s stay creative,
