Metallic toned die cut cards – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello everyone and happy Thursday!! Today I´m back at Elizabeth Craft Designs blog with another guest design team member post. This card idea started from idea to use white Soft Finish Cardstock in a different way. Also, due to the pandemic weddings had to be postponed by many people this summer and are now slowly taking place, the need for wedding cards moved to fall. Thus the love theme today.

For this card idea I´ve used only the same dies and yet they all look so different. It´s because I´ve treated them with a metallic media. My starting point by each of these cards was the same; white Soft Finish Cardstock!

All 3 cards still look so different due to the color choices. The dies are the same, only the colours vary. And the background paper I´ve used for matting everything.

I´ve again recorded a step-by-step video for you to watch – hope you like the idea!

Be sure to check out the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog for written steps and more photos of all cards.

I hope you could inspire you today to see the versatility of plain white cardstock. There are so many ways to give it a different look and it´s always a great starting point for many projects.

Also I would like to note that hoarding various media is not a good idea. This happened to me recently when I opened one of my Nuvo Embellishment Mousses. They had ALMOST completely dried up! I was able to save a few, but also had to toss quite a few. So, take my word for it: use the product you buy. Use it before it get´s old! So these cards were also an opportunity to use up some of those mousses. You might be seeing other metallized projects showing up here on my blog – I learned my lesson and am for sure going to use the product now and not be sorry later :).

I´ll be back next month with another Elizabeth Craft Designs guest member project. Hope to see you then!!

Happy crafting,

Groovy

Hello and happy (groovy?) Monday!! I missed WCMD (World Card Making Day), but hey, I actually DID make cards that day. Only, that the projects will be shared to a later date :-D! So to do some belated WCMD celebrating, I´m sharing a fun card I created past weekend. It just makes me smile and who does not need a smile on a Monday?!

I just love how this card turned out. It´s nothing complicated, really, but it´s the look on his face with the red nose enamel dot and the sentiment „groovy“ that brings a wide grin on my face. Hope it does on yours too!!?

So it´s again Monday and it´s going to be another tough week, but I hope to bring some happiness and joy to you with this card. I love the colours too. The background is from a a Dina Wakley Collage Collective book and the stenciling is done with one of my stencil designs „Winter Flowers“ using a Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in pink. The man is from people sets by Tim Holtz and the sentiment is written by my lovely friend Lizzy. And the enamel dot is my older stash.

Can´t wait to give this card to someone special! And I need to mention here that I definitely do need a day between Sunday and Monday. It always seems that the weekends are too short, by the time I have got my energy levels up for all kinds of fun stuff, it´s again Sunday and time is running out.. Anyone else with me on this?

Hope you have a great week with lots of crafty time, beautiful fall weather (hopefully sunshine!) and nice long walks between all the work crazy.

Happy crafting,

Hooray, sweet day! – Studio Tekturek

Hello everyone and happy Thursday!! Like promised on Tuesday, I´ll be sharing another small project with you, inspired by the layout project I shared this Tuesday :). Here it is:

I created a slimline card with the Studio Tekturek Strawberry Shake summer 2020 collection and as I was making it, I wanted to make a card in similar style. So I just kept on gelli printing the circles onto this piece of white paper and went from there. As my background I have the paper #1 from the summer collection. It works great as a card base – I just used the bolder design on the outside and the blue sky is on the inside.

I really like how this card turned out. I pretty much used the same products as on my layout, only here I used a different paper and the paper flowers are an addition.

If you want to know how this card came together, see the layout video for the technique on my Tuesday´s post. Oh, how I enjoy this collection and the candy colours!!!

Wishing you all a lovely day & happy crafting,

Happy Birthday Nancy!!!

Happy Friday!! Today I´m sharing a special post with you. A fellow DT member, the ever so lovely Nancy has a very special birthday and I am joining her birthday celebration linky party with this card.

This linky party is organized by Stamping with Loll! Thanks for the heads up Loll and Monika!! And now to the birthday girl herself:

Dear Nancy!! With this card I am wishing you lots of happiness, laughter, health and many, many amazing moments to come! You have a special place in my heart as you love stencils at least as much as I do. You know I love your artworks so much. I am so honoted and happy to be able to congratulate you this way. Have the happiest of day and I hope you get spoiled by your loved ones (hope you can party abit despite the pandemic circumstances..). Sending you lots of love,
xxx, Sanna

This card was done using lovely STAMPlorations products, well, because Nancy is a DT colleague at STAMPlorations, so she´d be expecting nothing less, I assume ;-). Also do read Loll´s blog post, because there will be many more people joining in on her celebration – you could even join in yourself (read more on Loll´s blog!!)

It´s a strange time to have a special birthday (I know, because I just had mine), so I think this linky party, organized by Loll, is a fabulous idea!! Thanks for organizing this, Loll!

All the best,
Sanna

Smile card

Hello and happy Sunday!! Today I´m just quickly stopping by to share a clean and simple card with you. This one is created with older product and pieces that I was gifted with. Only the sequins are from my newer stash.

I have been very busy creating projects with my new stencils (see here). But I cannot share those just quite yet. Thus I´m doing stash-busting with older product to reduce the piles of paper and embellishments that keep piling up in my studio!

Therefore I´ll leave you with this card today. The butterflies are a present from my friend Lizzy (thank you!!). And the sticker I believe to have received from my friend Ali a while back. Rest is my own stash (Nuvo sequins and organic/natural paper from my older stash).

I used a sewing machine to attach the butterflies to the background paper (proud of myself there, as I am not very fond of sewing machines!).

Wishing you a great start into the new week! Mine will be special as I am turning 5+0 next week – yes, I am THAT old *giggles*! But there will be no big party this time around due to the pandemic regulations. Hopefully I can celebrate with friends and family some time next year (would be nice to see them again)? *fingers crossed*

Happy crafting,
