Hello and Happy Halloween! Today I´d like to share with you a fun Halloween tag. I´ve used a selection of various Canvas Corp Brands products on this one – 7gypsies, Tattered Angels and Cancas Corp.
Here is how I created the card:
I first fussy cut a frame from a 7gypsies tissue paper sheet. I also chose to use two tags of various sizes in combination.
Next I used Ranger´s Matte Medium for adhering the tissue frame onto the bigger tag. You could also use plain tissue paper and create your own frame onto it with a frame stamp.
Next I grabbed a 7gypsies stamp and added random stamping onto both tags with a waterproof ink (Archival by Ranger).
After that I used both Glimmer Mist and Chalkboard Mist to color the tags in purple and orange tones and let them dry. You can naturally choose another color combination of your choice, but in my opinion purple and orange make a nice Halloween combo.
When the first layer of spray ink was dry, I added some color splatters in the opposite tone onto each one and used a heat gun to dry them.
Next I added a piece of gaffer tape (but you could also use self adhesive ribbon or washi tape or twine for this purpose too) for decoration onto the smaller tag and glued the number 31 onto it. I also outlined the tag with a black Sharpie and added some stapled details for additional interest.
Following the same idea I also outlined the bigger tag using a black Sharpie. Then I added a black skull sticker into the middle of the tissue frame and glued a chipboard skull over it that I had first misted with orange spray ink.
Then I went over to the last fun part of finishing the tag with various details. I used 7gypsies rubbings, black twine, orange and black Glimmer Glaze, a metal pin, some cork stars and other little bits and pieces from my stash to add even more interest to the tags.
I glued the tags together with a strong paper glue, but you could also just staple them together.
Finally I also added a dymo sentiment on top of it all.
And if you are not that keen on using skulls, you can replace them with any other halloween themed motive of your choice. The fun part about creating tags is that you can add layers and layers of color, mediums, stamping, rub-ons and embellishments of your choice and you will always end up with a different kind of tag. There are no limits in how you choose to create your tag – don´t overthink it, just have fun!!
And when finished, you can add the tag to go with a Halloween present basket or use it as part of your Halloween table decoration – whatever you prefer, there are so many possibilities. You can even add the tag to a card or on a scrapbook layout.
Wishing you all a Happy Halloween weekend!!! Have fun!!
