Dreams take flight ATC set – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone, it´s again time for another STAMPlorations Mixed Media tutorial. Today I´d like to share a Artist Trading Card set and the steps, how I created them, with you. Here is what I made:

And now to the steps:

I started with a pink spray ink misted white paper piece on which I placed the Foiled stencil. I then applied watermark/embossing ink thru the stencil onto the paper and then poured a layer of Sticky Embossing Powder over the inked areas.

After heat setting the powder I took some foil sheets (gold) and pressed them onto the sticky areas. The foil sticks to the sticky embossing powder and leaves a nice godl foil surface onto the emboessed powder areas.

Next I took the Feathery clear stamp set and stamped some feathers onto a piece of white cardstock, again using watermark ink and this time embossing with clear embossing powder.

After heat setting the clear embossing powder I applied red and two tones of green Distress Ink onto my working surface, misted the ink areas with water mist and pressed the paper onto the damp ink. I got a really nice and soft hued paper in the process.

Then I just fussy cut the leaves along the edges with small scissors.

At this point I cut the foiled paper into a right size and as a result I had 4 ATC´s. I decorated them with boder stickes (from my older stash). I love using older product on my mixed media projects. It´s a good way of using up stash you necessarily would not use anywhere else.

After that I splattered some black ink splatters onto the ATCs for additional detail and dimension.

Next I adhered the feathers on place and added some Harvest Moon glitter glue onto them for a fun detail. I let the glitter glue dry a while and then took a wooden stick and scraped the glitter areas a little. This way I was able to remove any concentrated glitter and smoothen it out abit.

Finally I stamped a sentiment several times onto white cardstock and inked it with a light green ink tone. After that I fussy cut the sentiments and adhered them onto the cards. Here is a closeup of the finished ATC.

This is it from me for this year :). I hope you can take some inspiration from my project into the new year. How about making the sentiment your motto for the new year? Do the projects you are dreaming of doing next year and let your creativity loose. Wishing you all a lovely holiday season!! See you in 2019 with fun projects again 🙂 !!!

Happy crafting,
Sanna

Spread your wings – more MMCC card challenge inspiration

Time for one more butterfly inspired card! As you might remember, this months challenge at The Mixed Media Card Challenge blog is all about butterflies (and gold).  I hope you have found time to play along with us this month – and if you haven´t there actually still is a little time to join in..

This is my second card based on this months theme:

For this one I first used a butterfly stamp from a Finnabair stamp set “Don´t forget to fly”. First stamped with VersaMark ink, then applied golden embossing powder and heat set it. After that I took some spray inks (green, yellow, blue) and colored the butterflies with them very freely.

I then added a golden yarn around the card, stamped a sentiment on a strip of white carstock, layered 3 flowers from my stash on top of each other and then applied some “Mini Prills” in the middle. For final touches I added some blue Glimmer Glaze splatters here and there and glued the background on a blue card base.

Now hop over to the MMCC blog for more card inspiration and submit your creation here. Have fun!!! Hope to see you there,

xxx, Sanna

Cheers – Canvas Corp Brands

Hello everyone and happy May!! Today I´d like to share another Canvas Corp layout with you. This one is again made with the lovely Vino & Ale collection. I just love it! It is perfect in so many ways and totally versatile to use. And I think this one will be a timeless collection that will work for a long time with whatever you choose to combine it with!

This is my layout:

I´ve used the Black and Kraft Wine Glasses Reverse paper in combination with kraft cardstock and added some fussy cut elements from the Vino & Cheese on Kraft paper here and there.

I then took a dark purple and green Glimmer Mist and used a water tank brush to color the fussy cut images. I also created some “wine glass stains” to the background by dabbing a small cup into a splodge of brown Glimmer Mist and then pressing that onto paper. In addition I then added some color splatters onto the background in the same colors I had used for coloring of the images.

Finally I´ve just added some doodling around the kraft cardstock edges for additional decoration and glued a few wood veneer pieces to go with the fussy cut images. I by the way cut the “cheers!” title out of the Uncorced on Kraft paper. Easy!

ps. if you were wondering about the photos, they are taken from the region where I live. We have some beautiful wine gardens just a few minutes drive away from home and we love to go for walks there.

Happy crafting, lovelies!

Life is a garden – Canvas Corp Brands

Happy April, everyone! How´s the weather at your end? We´ve had our share of rain, storms and hail mixed with beautiful sunshine days – typical April weather, so to say. And how´s your gardening getting along? We have started..but mainly kept with sowing some seeds and waiting them to grow. We like to work in our little garden with cherry and plum trees and a small vegetable garden. Here is a garden themed layout, I created with the new Watering Can collection while waiting for this years season to start:

and here is a little step-by-step about how this page came together:

I first sprayed the lovely bicycle paper (Bikes and Baskets on Ivory) background with a light yellow, light blue and light pink Glimmer Mist. And then added some wripped and misted old book page pieces onto the background.

Next I started adding all kinds of little bits and pieces in clusters around the photos. Some paper roses, spray inked pieces of tissue paper, pearl swirls (now that sounds funny written like that :)..). The watering can and the journaling pieces are from the Garden Sayings on Ivory paper.

The are also some wood veneer hearts here and there as well as some sticker words to add to the journaling of the page.

I´ve even added some clay elements here and there which I made myself with molds. These are also colored with Glimmer Mist to add to the color scheme of the page.

Thanks for coming over and taking a look! Always lovely to hear from you guys, so would love if you left me a comment <3 !

Happy gardening, lovelies!

Imagine

Hey there, lovelies! So how has your September been so far? Mine has been really nice as  I have reached a goal I set to myself beginning of July and I´ve proven myself that if you decide to do something and put your mind to it, you really can and will achieve it.

See, back in July I decided that it was about time to look after myself more, so one of the first things to do was to lose some weight. Four weeks from there I´d lost 8 kilos. I am really, really happy I started this journey and by today I´ve lost a bit more than 10 kilos. And no, I did not start this journey with a goal to look skinny, but to beel better in my skin again. And I now DO feel much better in my skin :).

OK, enough of me now…! There by the way happens to be a really nice challenge going on at Scrapki-wyzwaniowo this month that fits the above topic quite well. The challenge is all about the word “imagine” – you can interpret it the way you like. I scrapped a layout for my son. I think I have now proven to by kids that they can reach anything, if they put their mind to it, work hard and believe in themselves. Then I also found this quote about “if you can imagine it, you can achieve it..” in the internet and that then led to this layout.

So I´m submitting this page for Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo´s September challenge. I loved creating this page! It´s nothing that fancy, quite a simple page actually with just a few embellishments and details here and there, but the message of this page is really important to me and I really, really enjoed creating this page for my son. And it was fun to join in on a challenge for a change too :).

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!!!
Take care,
Hugs, Sanna
