Daily Art Practice – Day 9

Hello and happy Monday! Work has begun again, so I am very excited to see how this daily art practice will work out in the long run, but I am trying my best to squeeze in a few minutes every day.

Here is day 9 with the Artist Almanac 2022:

For this page I´ ve used up all the tiny bits and pieces that were left from previous days PLUS the almanac page of day 9. Also some gelli printed paper in on this page, as well as leftover pieces of eco-dyeing-paper I did years back with Tina Walker, when she visited me :). Here is the video.

Today´ s piece is a hot mess of paper scraps and I also tried stenciling with Dimensional Pearls, but that didn´ t work out as planned :). Oh well, I still managed to struggle a page together. Here are some details:

I also continued using the Denglisch stamps here again. I think they fit these pages so well. That´ s why. This is it for today, see you again tomorrow!!

Take care, Sanna

What day is it?

Hello everyone and happy Saturday!! I´ve lost count – some days I almost can´t figure out what day it is! It´s probably because every day is pretty much the same. So there is not even a difference between weekdays and weekends. Thus this art journal page 🙂

I used the funny birdie image on this page, because it just looked as confused as I am feeling some days :). The background is again done with Distress Crayons. Underneath I´ve adhered a tissue paper that was gelli printed. Then plenty of crayon layers on top. Cannot get enough of this technique!!!

And then just a fussy cut text to go with it all – that looks as confused and disorderly like the birdie… Just putting thoughts and feelings down on paper this time. I´ve basically done a page a day the last week or so. That is approximately the time I can sit at the moment. Then it´s just pain and ache. So going with what my body allows. One small journal page a time.

Hope you are all doing ok at your end!!?

December Stencil Challenge reminder – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and welcome to the December STAMPlorations Stencil Challenge reminder post. What´s it all about? It´s just a reminder that there is still enough time for you to play along with us and also an inspirational boost, in case you were looking for one.

For this reminder post, I´ve again created an art journal page. I know I´m repeating myself, but I just enjoy creating in my journal recently. Here is my inspiration project:

I so so enjoyed making this one! I´ve got all the fun stuff going on this page: stenciling with paste, acrylic markers, gelli printed tissue paper, stamping!

I´ve first added the Evolution stencil pattern onto the page with texture paste. Then I´ve painted the whole page with Distress Paint. Next I´ve added some liquid watercolour splodges (really just hues!) onto the background. After that I took a gel press printed tissue paper, stamped the figures onto it and then fussy cut and adhered them with Gel Medium onto the page. For finishing touches I fussy cut some crowns, added stamped stentiments with black ink and scribbled here and there. AND for finishing touches I wanted to highlight the stencil pattern, so I painted and outlined it with white and green Posca pens.

I had a really great time creating this page – now it´s again your turn. By now you know that you need to play by the rules to be eligble for the prize and that you can create anything, just as long as you use a stencil for it.

Hop over to the STAMPlorations blog to see what the other DT girls created and then play along yourself! Hope to see you there!

Happy stenciling,
xxx, Sanna

Art journal page

Hi there everyone and happy Tuesday! Today I´m stopping by to share an art journal page with you. Just some random play I had in my art journal the other day. Recently I am really enjoying this type of play time alot.

Here is what I created:

I wanted to use the misted masking tapes on this page, so I added them on top of everything else and added the journaling onto them. Apart from that I´ve first covered the page with a piece of tissue paper magazine transfer in green, then layered fussy cut magazine parts (leaves) on top, added some stamping.

Stamps by Viva Las Vega Stamps and details with Posca pens. Just a page that was a result of a quick playtime. It feels so good to create these pages into my art journal lately. Just putting down bits and pieces and not giving it all too much thought. And yet every page that comes out in the process, kind of represents something that has been going thru my mind recently. Have you tried this type of art journaling recently?

Happy crafting,

Go see do Art Journal Page

Hi there and happy Wednesday!!! Today I´m again dropping by my blog to share another art journal page with you all. This time the theme is about travelling. I have a huge bucket list to work thru and I love to go to new places which I sadly cannot do this year due to my surgery, but soon, soon hopefully travel plans can be added to my calendar :).

Thus the travel themed page today:

I´ve added lots of bits and bobs to this page. There is some paint on the background, then I added some gelli plate transfer tissue pieces (see the lady´s face in the middle?). That piece is one of those.

I fussy cut and added a world map in pieces onto the page, then did some stamping, journaling and adhered random fussy cut pieces here and there.

I had a great time creating this page and dreaming about future travels :). Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna
