Be Merry – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello everyone, I am up over at the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today with a little Christmas deco piece. I was lucky enough to come across some small alterable light bulbs and I have been thinking of creating little Secret Santa pieces with them for friends and colleagues.

These lightbulbs are great since they are made out of relatively thick glass and have a flat bottom, so they stand alone and are not too fragile to be used as decoration in the household. You can even unscrew the cork and fill the bulb with whatever you prefer! Here is what I came up with:

Step 1: I first took some mini art stones and filled the lightbulb with those.

Step 2: After adding the mini art stones I mixed some mica flakes and bulk glass glitter into the lightbulb. I then place the red wooden pearls carefully inside the lightbulb and closed the lid. Next I added some white cord around the lightbulb for additional interest and adhered the little star embellishment with a piece of 3D foam on top. This is what the base looks like when finished:

Step 3: After the base was done I strung a piece of white wire thru the light bulb cork and formed it into a place card holder form on top to hold the die cut piece later. I also decorated the lightbulb cork with some half pearls for a fun detail.

Step 4: Next I cut two stars with the Entwined Ovals die cut set and two ice cream cones with the Joset Designs Ice Cream Cone die cut die set. When you flip the cone upside down, it looks a little bit like a Christmas tree!

Step 5: After die cutting the white cardstock, I misted the ice cream cone with green spray inks and it immediately looked like a Christmas tree. I glued the pieces together and adhered the stars to the tree. Next I wrote a sentiment onto a piece of white cardstock and cut it into a banner and adhere that to the tree.

Step 6: I then adhered some white half pearls onto the tree and colored them red with a marker. In the end I added some glitter glue onto the star to make it more shiny and then placed the finished Christmas tree on it´s place.

While creating this piece, it occurred to me, that the lightbulbs would make really great place card holders for the Christmas dinner table. I might need to get a few more to complete that idea too!! Hope you enjoyed this home deco step-by-step and get inspired to create!!!

Happy crafting,

ATC set Vol. 1 – Canvas Corp Brands

Hello lovelies!! We have an ATC swap going on with some of my DT colleagues from the Canvas Corp Brands Creative Crew and it has been such fun taking part in it!!! My task was to make 12 ATC´s and post them to chosen CCB Crew colleagues around the globe. Since most of them have now arrived at the recipients, it is time to start sharing some step-by-steps. Here is the first set of 4 ATC´s I did:

Sanna LippertThese ones have lots of color going on in them – as I happen to adore stamping, stenciling and misting. I first cut white cardstock into the ATC size (3.5 x 2.5 inches) and then cut four more pieces of white cardstock slightly smaller.

Sanna Lippert Sanna LippertThe smaller pieces then got a layer of spray ink. For the upper ones I used: light purple Glimmer Mist, light blue Chalkboard and lime green Glimmer Mist spray from Tattered Angels. The lower ones are misted with Glimmer Mist tones Patina, Rosey and Fully Purple. Then I just let them dry properly.

Sanna LippertNext I added a doodled outline around the inked pieces.

Sanna LippertFollowed by some black stamped images, created with a hand carved triangle stamp and a waterproof black ink.

Sanna LippertFinally I added some Clear Double Sided Adhesive strips onto the background, then poured some Fire Opal Silk Microfine Glitter over the adhesive and polished the glitter with my finger. It has an amazing shine and is super fine!! Nothing comes off the adhesive, once polished!!!

Sanna Lippert Sanna Lippert Sanna LippertThen i went along and added some yarn, some 7gypsies numbers, some dymo words and spray inked little stars her and there. I used a stapler to attach the dymo words onto the background and matted the inked pieces onto the bigger white cardstock ones. Some burlap also stacked under the numbers for more detail. Finally I just added some white and black ink splatters for additional detail and my first 4 ATC´s were finished.

I had so much fun creating these!!! Now there will be more sets to come, so make sure you come back in a few days time :).

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna
