Dreams take flight ATC set – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone, it´s again time for another STAMPlorations Mixed Media tutorial. Today I´d like to share a Artist Trading Card set and the steps, how I created them, with you. Here is what I made:

And now to the steps:

I started with a pink spray ink misted white paper piece on which I placed the Foiled stencil. I then applied watermark/embossing ink thru the stencil onto the paper and then poured a layer of Sticky Embossing Powder over the inked areas.

After heat setting the powder I took some foil sheets (gold) and pressed them onto the sticky areas. The foil sticks to the sticky embossing powder and leaves a nice godl foil surface onto the emboessed powder areas.

Next I took the Feathery clear stamp set and stamped some feathers onto a piece of white cardstock, again using watermark ink and this time embossing with clear embossing powder.

After heat setting the clear embossing powder I applied red and two tones of green Distress Ink onto my working surface, misted the ink areas with water mist and pressed the paper onto the damp ink. I got a really nice and soft hued paper in the process.

Then I just fussy cut the leaves along the edges with small scissors.

At this point I cut the foiled paper into a right size and as a result I had 4 ATC´s. I decorated them with boder stickes (from my older stash). I love using older product on my mixed media projects. It´s a good way of using up stash you necessarily would not use anywhere else.

After that I splattered some black ink splatters onto the ATCs for additional detail and dimension.

Next I adhered the feathers on place and added some Harvest Moon glitter glue onto them for a fun detail. I let the glitter glue dry a while and then took a wooden stick and scraped the glitter areas a little. This way I was able to remove any concentrated glitter and smoothen it out abit.

Finally I stamped a sentiment several times onto white cardstock and inked it with a light green ink tone. After that I fussy cut the sentiments and adhered them onto the cards. Here is a closeup of the finished ATC.

This is it from me for this year :). I hope you can take some inspiration from my project into the new year. How about making the sentiment your motto for the new year? Do the projects you are dreaming of doing next year and let your creativity loose. Wishing you all a lovely holiday season!! See you in 2019 with fun projects again 🙂 !!!

Happy crafting,
Sanna

Distress Glitter ATC set – STAMPlorations

Hello there lovelies, another Stencil Sunday is here!! I hope you are enjoying the inspiration delivered by us STAMPlorations girls :). Every Sunday either all or part of the team share an inspirational project created using at least one STAMPlorations stencil. Today is my turn again and here is what I did:

This is how I created the ATCs. My starting point was a piece of plain white cardstock – everything in color is added details :).

Step 1: I cut the plain white cardstock into ATC sized pieces (2 1⁄2 by 3 1⁄2 inches (64 mm × 89 mm)) and added green and blue spray ink onto the background. Next I used a heat gun for drying the ink.

Step 2: Then I place a misted piece under the ARTplorations Square City stencil and adhered the stencil onto the working surface with washi tape. That keeps the pieces from moving around. Next I applied a layer of transparent texture paste thru the stencil with a palette knife onto the surface.

Step 3: For the first ATC I then poured loose Distress Glitter onto the wet texture paste surface and dabbed the residue off with my finger. I let the piece air dry. Using the glitter this way it will stick to the paste when dry and stay shiny.

Step 4: For the next two pieces I mixed the transparent texture paste and the Distress Glitter with a palette knife together and first then applied the paste onto the tag like explained on Step 2. When you use the Distress Glitter this way, it will not result in a soft and shiny surface. It is more a grainy texture with color than a shine surface. If you would use a regular glitter, the result would still stay shiny when dry. That is the difference between Distress and regular Glitter and this technique.

Step 5: I took a piece of patterned paper and a STAMPlorations Trendy Feathers 2 clear stamp set and stamped feathers onto the paper with black ink.

Step 6: Next I took a STAMPlorations Fond Expressions 2 clear stamp set and stamped a sentiment onto a piece of vanilla cardstock. I then fussy cut the stamped sentiments.

Step 7: Now all I needed to do was to decorate the ATC background. I adhered the feather, some pink yarn, a button and the sentiment onto the tag. You cannot see it here, but I also added some white ink splatters in the end for additional detail. Those can be seen on the finished ATC´s.

Hope you have enjoyed today´s Stencil Sunday inspiration by the design team girls!!! Remember you can also join in the fun with us by submitting your mixed media stencil project (any brand goes!!!) to the monthly challenge!!! Just remember, NO CARDS allowed :). For details, go HERE :).

I for myself am submitting this project to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog´s: Bit O´ Green challenge.

Let´s stay creative,

Smile – STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday

Hello lovelies, and just like that it is 2017!!! I hope you had a lovely, relaxing holiday season and are ready to kickstart another creative year!! Let´s beginn with an exersize that is easy to do 🙂 – a challenge! Here we go:

How about you create something fun in mixed media style and join our January challenge over at the STAMPlorations blog. Joining is easy, just make sure you create something mixed media using at least one stencil and place the above image with a correct link to your blog. PLUS make sure you are not submitting cards – those are the only ones not accepted.

Here is what I did as an inspiration for this months challenge reveal:

Sanna Lippert - stenciled art journal sheet

I started by applying turquoise Sennelier acrylic paint with an old credit card onto the art journal sheet. After that layer was dry, I added white acrylic paint droplets with a paint brush onto the blue surface. White that layer was drying, I took some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists out and misted on a white paper in yellow, light green, kiwi and red.

White the misted paper was drying, I took the Some Birds stencil and used it as a drawing guide with a black pen. I then had a bunch a birdies flying on my page. Next I colored them with a black pen.

After that I stamped some feathers with the Trendy Feathers 2 clear stamp set onto the misted paper and fussy cut those images. Then I stamped a sentiment that would suit my journal page and fussy cut that too. Now all I needed to do was to layer these pieces onto the page. I also added some white gel pen details onto the feathers and some glitter glue for interest. I outlined the page with a black pen and added the date. That way I´ll later know when I created this sheet. Here is the finished page.
