Celebrate!

Hello lovelies! Happy Wednesday!!! Today I´m sharing another stenciled card, using my new stencils at STAMPlorations. This stencil, actually, is not a new one, but it went thru a modification process, thus, „new“.

We changed the design into a slightly bigger one, because cutting it was a difficult process. A bigger design makes the cutting easier, so we changed it abit. A second designs that got changed, was Onions in Raws. Totally out of same reasons. So if you bought these two stencils by their reveal, the new ones are slightly different (bigger). The smaller designs will not be available anymore in the store.

For the background I used residue pieces where I pressed a misted stencil onto a white paper and got this colorful image. Then I added the RagRug pattern with black Distress Ink on top. For decor a stamped and fussy cut sentiment and a few older embellishments.

A perfect color combination for fall birthday wishes!
Happy crafting,

October Stencil Challenge Reminder – STAMPlorations

Hello everyne! It´s again time to remind you about this months Stencil Challenge at STAMPlorations!! There is still plenty of time to play along – hope you join the fun with us!!!

This is my reminder post project:

For this card I used Monika Skinners new Flexi Templates (Ovals here) with the new Slimline stencils designed by Shery. I first placed the ovals into the middle and inked around the edges with pink ink, then I placed the slimline stencil over everything else and added darker pink ink tone onto the pink areas thru the stencil.

After that I removed the oval template in the middle and placed the „edge“ piece of the oval template over the pink areas. This way I could ad orange to the middle without messing the colours. For finishing touches I misted the Slimline stencil with water and pressed it onto the orange inked oval and let water do it´s magic. You can see the pattern here and there on the background.

For finishing touches I added some stamping with the STAMPlorations Noteworthy stamp set and then went on adding some Nuvo Drops and paper flowers and buttons from my older stash.

Now again be sure to check out the fabulous project the other DT girls designed for your inspiration and then join the fun :). Hope you see you at STAMPlorations blog!

Happy stenciling,

October Stencil Challenge – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and welcome back to the STAMPlorations Stencil challenge!! It´s good to be back after the summer break inspiring you all with the challenges! We are hoping to see lots and lots of entries this month :). So get your crafty on and join the fun with us!

Here is my artwork for the reveal:

I played in my Ranger (black) Art Journal and created this page. I´ve got plenty of spray ink layers going on on the backgrond. Done with some of my new stencils (Amaranth, Abstract Prehistoric Life and Abstract April Showers).

The panda bears are talking to each other on this page. They say: „Help! I am falling!“ and the second one answers: „Don´t worry! I´ll catch you!“. As life has been tough during the summer and spring, I felt like creating a page like this at this point of the 2020 pandemic.

Now it´s again your turn. Do check out the STAMPlorations blog for more details (+ play by the rules!) and inspiration!! Hoping to see many of you join in!!

Happy stenciling,

ATC in a pocket – STAMPlorations

Hello, time for another STAMPlorations mixed media tutorial! While organizing my stash a cards & pockets product by Canvas Corp Brands cought my eye. I immeditely thought of an interactive Artist Trading Card project that I wanted to create.

Here is how I created the project:

1. Take the kraft paper pocket and the ARTplorations „Some Birds“ stencil. Apply black waterproof ink thru the stencil onto the surface to create a row of birds starting to fly.

2. Next take the card inside the pocket (if you don´t have the exact same pocket, use a small kraft envelope for this purpose) and use a light orange and bright yellow spray ink tone and ink the background in those colors.

3. Take a leftover piece/random piece of paper that goes with the color sheme and apply black ink thru the „Some Birds“ stencil here and there. Then use various sized circle punches and punch circles (with the bird images on them).

4. Take a piece of old book paper and the ARTplorations „Hearts all Over“ stencil. Apply red waterproof ink onto the paper thru the stencil.

5. Wrip the edge of the paper and adhere the piece onto the left side of the misted card. Next assembly the punched circles onto the ATC. Glue down and cut residue/overlapping parts away with scirssors.

6. Attach a light blue mini clothespin on top of the card. That makes it easier to pull the card out of the pocket. Apply white texture spray onto the ATC surface and let air dry.

7. Stamp sentiments from the STAMPlorations „Trendy Birds 2“ clear stamp set with black ink onto old book paper. The one with the „you can fly“ text will be adhered onto the pocket and the „spread your wings“ sentiment goes to the ATC.

8. Outline the stamped sentiments with black paint pen.

9. Finally, outline the black birds on the pocket with a white paint pen to create more contrast.

Here is also a start-to-finish video about the creating process:

I hope you get inspired to get your product out and play!!! Have fun!

Bits and Fragments with paint – The Crafters Workshop

Hi there, I created a few cards using the Crafter´s Workshop stencils again :). Remember the cards I made a while back using Fragments and Bits with spray inks and a Big Shot? Well, the other day I tried the same idea, only changed the spray ink to a regular paint.

Here is how I did the backgrounds: Sanna Lippert I first cut some watercolor paper into suitable sizes and sprayed them with yellow, blue and green spray ink.

Sanna LippertNext I took out some stencils and started dabbing some Distress Paint onto them. I started with the small „Fifties Clock“ stencil and orange paint.

Sanna Lippert
After I had enough paint on the stencil, I carefully placed it over the spray inked background and since this particular stencil was too big to fit into the Big Shot, I used a brayer to apply the paint onto the card background. Works as well as the Big Shot, except that you will not get a letterpress kind of image out of this technique.

Sanna LIppert
For the next card I used the „Single Feather“ Balzer Bit and green Distress Paint. This time I ran the paint covered stencil thru the Big Shot and the image is similar to a letterpress image.

I did the same with blue Distress Paint and „Crosshatched Frags“. I really like this one a lot!

Finally I used the „Pods Fragments“ stencil and dabbed pink, orange and red Distress Paint onto the surface and ran it thru the Big Shot again. There are so many variations you can create with this basic idea.

And here are the finished cards:Sanna Lippert

After finishing the backgrounds I glued them down on white card bases and added stamped sentiments, some doodling around the edges and ink splatters in various colours. There are also some silver and gold wax crayon splodges here and there. If you want the images to stand out more, you can go around them with a black pen, like I did on some of the cards.

I hope you will give the small stencils (Bits and Fragments) a try! They are quite a lot of fun to play with!
