#tuac5minchallenge – Day 13

Hello and happy Friday & happy WEEKEND!!! Hope you will find some time to sit outside, maybe swim a little and just have fun & also get creative. Here is my Day 13 for the Ugly Art Club #tuac5minchallenge:

And here is the video:

I tried to make this less cute, but not quite succeeded. I used plenty of bits that were still on my table from the previous day´s take. And combined those with a postal stamp from my junk bag and some random sticker words. I will need to try and get back to more “ugly” not so cutesie style. I am not happy with where these are going. They don´t quite match the theme “ugly art”. Alone the colours make them look more cute than ugly. But at least I am keeping the in the time frame and getting junk pieces used.

See you again tomorrow! Have an awesome weekend!

#tuac5minchallenge – Day 11

Hello and happy Wednesday! Mid week – yay!! Here is my take for Day 11 at The Ugly Art Club´s #tuac5minchallenge. Now that you already know what this is about I´ll just add the finished piece and the video every day to save time.

You can find all the steps in the video anyway, so no need to write them down and I also try to find alternative products (similar to the used ones) linked to the product list, just in case you want to create something similar yourself.

I again ran out of time. I would have wanted to add more, but forced myself to stop, because the challenge is about keeping the time frame in about 5 minutes.

It´s good practice to try and do only short periods. Usually, when I sit down and work on a project, hours just run by without me noticing. So it´s good to set a timer and show myself that sometimes only a little time is enough. And then there is plenty of time for other stuff too.

Have a great evening!

Misted medallion tag

Hello there, and happy Tuesday. Today I´m stopping by to share a Christmas present tag with a special centerpiece.

I got this medaillion from my crafty friend Tina and I´ve been saving it for a special occation. I created this tag with the embossed blue paper that was in the Tonic Craft Kit No. 6.

I started by die cutting the paper with the Tonic Mixed Scalloped and Straight Edge Rectangle Layering Die Set using only the straight edge dies with the blue paper. For the white cardstock piece is changed to the scalloped edged die cut die.

I then just decorated the tag with some older product from my stash, like the button, the twine and the border sticker. i used the medallion from Tina as my centerpiece, misting it with Tattered Angels Icicle Blue spray ink (see the video here).

For finishing touches I added some Ruby Slippers Nuvo Drops here and there.

This present tag will go together with the card I made previously or I can use them separately. That´s it for today, hope to see you tomorrow when I share another Christmas Card Wednesday card.

Until then, happy crafting,

Fall themed tags

Hi there everyone and happy Monday! I recently bought make-up blending brushes from SØSTRENE GRENE and found them very useful as blending brushes for crafting! So I experimented a little :).

I took some Indian Gold and Burnished Bronze Embellishment Mousse out to play and applied them with the blending brush onto a piece of white cardstock. And the results I got! So smooth, even application and the brush glides on paper like a dream.

Here is one of the results from that playtime –  a set of fall themed tags:

For this tag I die cut the Burnished Bronze tinted piece with an oval die cut die from Tonic Studios. Then I die cut a tag – die by STAMPlorations and inked that with the same brush, but this time using Ocean Blue Distress Ink. For decoration I dug deep into my older stash and added some lovely Basic Grey stickers, some golden sequins (Tonic Studios) and faux stitching with a white pen. For decoration I also added some Harvest Moon Nuvo Glitter Accents onto the rose design here and there.

For the second tag I first die cut it (same die by STAMPlorations), then placed a stencil onto the tag (my Trees 1 stencil) and applied a heavy coat of the Brusnished Bronze Embellishment Mousse with the blending brush onto the tag. I let that layer dry before I went over the complete tag surface again, this time applying only a soft layer of the same mousse. Now you can see the Trees 1 pattern hues on the background, but the pattern is much softer and blends into the background. I really like how it looks!

Next I again added a Basic Grey sticker from my very old stash on top for decoration. Then added some sequins (Tonic Studios) and some Harvest Moon Glitter Accents here and there. The tag got finished off with a October Afternoon (old stash) sticker that was outlined with a black pen.

Too bad you cannot see the amazing shimmer of the tags – but you get the idea from the very first photo. It´s gorgeous and looks quite noble.

This is it for today, do come by on Wednesday for another Christmas Card Wednesday!
Happy crafting,

Things with wings – TAGplorations

Hello there, everyone and welcome to the TAGplorations May challenge! Throughout the month of May there will be various challenges on the STAMPloration blog and they will all have one thing in common – the challenges will all run under the theme: THINGS WITH WINGS!

We start with the TAGplorations challenge and here is my take for the reveal:

I used one of the new stitched nesting tag dies this time and made a happy, colorful tag in a spring theme/mood.

I first die cut the stitched, nesting tag die from white cardstock and then stamped the blossom image with embossing ink onto a piece of vellum paper. I heat embossed the image with white embossing powder and when that was done, flipped the image around and used stamp inks to add color to the image. I did this very randomly to create a soft look. Then I turned the paper around to take a look and it was partly too soft for my taste, so I added some acrylic pen details here and there and then was really happy with the result.

Since this months challenge is about wings, I used a little wood veneer birdy to decorate the big tag and also added two vellum feathers (done in the same manner) on top of the tag. Then all I needed to do was to add a stamped sentiment and some ribbon and a few liquid pearls dots and the tag was done.

So now is your turn, join the month long fun over at the STAMPlorations blog (remember to check back for even more challenges during the month and comment for your chance to win prizes). All details on how to play along can be found here – enjoy and happy crafting!
