Alpha Flower ATC

Hello and happy Thrusday! This week I´ve sent quite a few envelopes on their way into different locations around the world. I posted a photo of my ATC´s and offered them for swapping. And I honestly didn´t think there would be so many interested 🙂 – so only after one weekend my ATC pile is down to a half of it´s original size. Therefore, time to make MORE :).

So today I´m again sharing an ATC with you. Again using the new Elizabeth Craft Designs product I received last week. This time it´s the alphas.

I had been playing with Distress Inks and Stains on a piece of white paper a while ago and chose to use that piece for an artist trading card background. I then added the stamping. I simply inked the whole stamp set with black ink, while it was still attached to it´s original packaging. This way I had a random alpha pattern on the background.

Then just a few elements, like burlap, twine, a brad and a flower as a centerpiece and for finishing touches some Nuvo Vintage Drops in white. I love the white! Goes with EVERYTHING! I call this card „Alpha Flower“ :-D.

I am totally liking the new Art Journal line at Elizabeth Craft Designs. So stay tuned for more artwork with that. I might need to go shopping for some more *looks innocently into the sky* :).

Happy crafting,

Well behaved woman – AJ page

Hello lovelies and happy Friday!!! Today I´m sharing the last page on this particular art journal. I created a page a day for this journal and it was so much fun. I got addicted to it and was already looking forward to creating every morning when I woke up.

This again is a face experiment. I have gotten better for sure, but not perfect. I notice a big difference between my first face and this one. Even though, this one for sure is not in proportion, the teeth still look very acward and she looks like she has been through wind somehow :)… But I´m not stopping here…so, the quantity of these drawings will eventually get me where I want to be, I think. At least that is what Dina says did the trick for her. Just create! Don´t dwell on the fact if it´s not perfect..

For the background here I used distress stains and a stencil design from my own stencil line at STAMPlorations (Tapestry). And for the drawing it´s again scribble sticks by Dina Wakley. Also I fussy cut her washi into hearts and outlined them to make them stand out from the background. For sentiment is Dyan Reaveley´s stamp set.

There are still a few pages in this journal that I haven´t shared here yet. Reason? Because I made those for STAMPlorations challenge reveals :). So stay tuned for those and then a flip-thru of this journal some time mid June I think.

Hope you are having a great day! My older son turns 20 today!! Twenty!!! Where has the time gone?!!! Soon he´ll be moving out and I´m very overwhelmed with everything, suddenly it all goes so fast and I just want to hold the time for just a second to grab a breath and get adjusted to all the things happening around me. Do you know the feeling? Now I know why they say that time flies… it sure does.

Ugh! People! AJ page

Hello lovelies and happy Tuesday! Today I´m sharing another art journal page with you again. This time something colorful and bright with a fun Dylusions stamped sentiment. I feel this sentiment just fits the pulse of the time ;-)…

For this page I´ve used Distress Stain on the background, mixing four colours together on one page. Then I´ve sprayed some yellow spray ink thru my STAMPlorations stencil „A Whale´s Tale“ (upper right corner).

After that I added some Dina Wakley stamp images onto the background with grey stamp ink (Nuvo). Then I took another stamp from Dina and applied her Scribble Sticks onto the stamp and stamped the circles. To make them better stand out from the backgrund I added white Posca pen around them. Then I drew the people, free hand, my style. This is something I learned at Louise Nelson´s class in Norway.

And of course they have glasses and a pixie, like I do :). For finishing touches, I added some stamping with black stamp ink (stamps by STAMPlorations and Dyan Reaveley). And „green pox“ added with scribble sticks.

Love how this one turned out! I am so much enjoying playing in my art journal recently. How are you spending your time? Did you discover any new interests during the isolation? I wish I could have done more, but my knee does not let me…

Wishing you a lovely day,

Stay brave AJ page

Hello lovelies and happy Wednesday! I am up with another art journal page again. This time it´s another face experiment. I tried to draw a smiling face, and noted that teeth are kinda hard to draw :)…

Anyhow, here is what I ended up with:

For the background I used Distress Stains again. The drawing itself is done with a Stabilo pen and I did some coloring of the hair and face with Dina Wakley´s Scribble Sticks. I love using them!

For stamping I used an older Dina Wakley pattern stamp set (still available at Stampers Anonymous!) and her handwritten quotes stamp set. That is basically what the page consists of. The face turned out quite to my liking. the only problem were the teeth. But taking small steps on my face painting journey. At some point I will find my way to draw faces for sure!

Wishing you all a lovely day – hope you are all doing fine?

You make me happy – MMCC November challenge reveal

Hello everyone and happy November!!! Gosh, where has the time gone??!! I have not even started on my Xmas cards yet and time is starting to run out..eeekk! BUT first things first. Let´s start by sharing the November Mixed Media Card Challenge with you:

This time the theme is FAMILY and as an optional element you are asked to use ARROWS. Now there are various possibilities to approach this theme. You could create a card for Thanksgiving, for example.

I have used a more general theme. It is, in a way, a thank you card, I think. There is always that special someone in the family who can brighten up ones day, no matter how bad it has been until then. Well, this is the kind of card I´d like to give that special person to tell them how much I appreciate them being there for me.

And this is how I created the card:

I first wiped some Distress Stain (pink & purple) onto a working surface and then pressed a piece of relatively thick watercolor paper over the ink/color. Then I let the paper dry properly.

Next I took a 3rd Eye (sadly, the store has closed their doors, but you will find a stamp or two still sold HERE…) arrow stamp and stamped and arrow pattern with black ink over the „faux watercolor“ area.

After that I took some colored texture spray (by Imagine Crafts) and added droplets of white and black over the stamped area. This needs to dry a while.

While the droplets were drying I stamped a sentiment (stamp by Kaisercraft) and fussy cut it. I also used a nice feather (a present by my lovely scrappy friend Lizzy <3) to go behind the sentiment.

Finally I adhered everything, outlined the card with a black pen and added some glitter glue onto the arrows for additional detail. Fun and easy!

So now is your turn – hope you like this months theme and join us for another fun MMCC challenge over HERE!
