Tagplorations March Challenge – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday! Today it´s again time to share this months Tagplorations challenge theme with you guys. This month the challenge is all about SPRING & BIRDS. Here is the challenge image:

And this is my take for the March Tagplorations reveal:

I die cut the Stitched Nesting Tag from a green toned polka dot paper. Then I stamped some Trendy Birds 2 images onto white cardstock with black stamp ink and colored them with golden Glimmer Mist to match the general color scheme.

Then I stamped the Heartfelt Hibiscus flower image onto white cardstock with embossing ink and applied white embossing powder on top. I heat set the powder with a heat tool. Next I colored the image with a water tank brush (Nuvo) and Distress Oxides. I also added some Nuvo Crystal Drops here and there for decoration. Then I fussy cut the image.

On the background there are tiny pink drops here an there. I filled some of the white polka dots with pink Nuvo Crystal Drops to create more sprackle. The „Spring“ sentiment is a rub-ons that I attached on white cardstock, then colored it with Glimmer Mist Gold tone and fussy cut it afterwords. Now it´s your turn to play along! Be sure to check out the TAGplorations challenge for more inspirational projects and then join us with your project! Same rules apply, as always – you will find them here. Looking forward to seeing your makes!!

TAGplorations February Challenge Reveal – STAMPlorations

Hi there everyone and  Happy February!!! The beginning of a month always means that it is time for a new challenge share!! Today I´m sharing the TAGplorations February Challenge Theme and my take on it:

So this months theme is love and as an optional element you are asked to use cupcakes. There are plenty of lovely cupcake themed products at the STAMPlorations store, just in case you don´t own any ;-)…

Here is my take:

I used the stitched tag die to cut the pink misted paper (using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Pink Poodle) with my Big Shot. Next I placed the Hidden Hearts stencil on top of the tag and brushed some Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide thru the stencil onto the background. I  really like to use this tone-in-tone look alot lately!

Next I stamped some flowers onto white cardstock and colored them with a water tank brush and Distress Oxides. Then I fussy cut the flowers and die cut the „happy“ word and adhered everything on place.

A stamped sentiment on the bottom left corner, some Glimmer Glaze droplets and Nuvo Stars confetti finish off this tag. Now it´s again your turn to play – be sure to follow the rules, when submitting your projects (see the details here). Looking forward to seeing your projects!!

And as always, feel free to use my discount code at the STAMPlorations store to get 20% off your order!!

Happy stenciling,

Mixed Media Challenge Reveal – STAMPlorations

Hi there, it´s time to share this months STAMPlorations Mixed Media Challenge with you today.

This month, I again opened my art journal and played a little. This is my challenge reveal take:

It all started with the purple Glimmer Mist splodges that had already been there on the white page. See, I tend to grab a loose piece of paper OR my art journal when I have residue ink, paint or other media left over from one project I am working on  at the moment and very randomly adding the residue onto my art journal or a loose piece of paper. I then use these pages and pieces as my starting point for another project later. So that is what happened here. I had been misting with Glimmer Mist and there was so much spray ink left over that I randomly pressed my art journal page onto it to save the color. Those splodges create the base for this page.

For this page, I then started by adding stenicled layers. I stenciled Distress Oxides thru „Hidden Hearts“, „Super Bubbles“ and „Bubble Dance“ stencils in various oxide colours onto the background. I must say, I like blending those inks with my blending brush. The results are so nice and soft. A great contrast to the Glimmer Mist splodges! I´ve, by the way listed all products used on this page on the supply list, so you don´t have to wonder which tone is which :). After stenciling, I swapped to stamping. I took the lovely „Mixed Media Grunge“ stamp set to create the arrows, circles and tiny dot patterns onto the page. Then I added a stamped sentiment as a centerpiece to the page using the „Wanderlust Expressions 1“ stamp set.

For finishing touches I added Posca Pen details, Tattered Angels Chalkboard Ink and Glimmer Mist ink splatters. That´s my project for this months reveal. I hope you get inspired and play with us!!! Just remember to play by the rules (read here). Have fun!!

And as always, feel free to use the above Discount Code for 20% off your order at the STAMPlorations store!! Looking forward to seeing your projects and wishing you a happy crafty time!!

Rio Negro minibook – The Wild Hare Kits

Hello everyone, it´s time to share another The Wild Hare Kits January guest design team spot project with you guys today. Last summer we made the most amazing trip to Brazil to my dear friend and also visited the rainforest and stayed over night at the Amazon river with them. For me it was a trip of a lifetime and I wanted to capture our Amazon river experiences into a special minibook.

I printed plenty of photos with my Canon Selphy and chose to use a pre-made minibook as my starting point for this travel album.  Here is what the album looks like:

Read the steps on the Wild Hare Kits blog here.

I printed plenty of photos and wanted to fit them into one album, so I had to cheat a little and add 6×6 papers as additional pages to fit it all in and have enough space for journaling too.

I really like how the stenciled pattern look like on the pages!

Some of the papers I´ve used are from my own stash – I added similar toned papers as additional pages, since they fit the general color sheme of the minibook better.

The overall look of the album is very clean and simple with just small decorational details and embellishments. I wanted to concentrate to the photos this time and added just tiny bits and bobs here and there for interest.

This page is one of my faves, the funny photos of my husband and me fit the „fresh start“ cutfile (which I cut slightly smaller with my Silhouette to fit into the minibook) theme really well. See, the boat ride was quite chilly with water spritzing around us as our „captain“ took everything out of his little riverboat :). We drove with full speed“ thru the first river section, so it truly was a „fresh start“ for that day.

I´ve also recorded a short flip-thru video for you to watch, so you get a better look on the finished album. I hope you enjoy watching it! I´ve truly enjoyed creating with this kit and would like to thank Alison for this amazing opportunity and for the perfectly curated kit. It has been a pleasure guesting at Wild Hare Kits!

I still have a few projects up my sleeve and will be sharing those here on my blog during the next days until end of January, so I´m hoping you will drop by to see what I have created with the rest of the kit.

Happy crafting and see you soon,
xxx, Sanna

TAGplorations October challenge reveal

Hello lovelies, summer break is officially over at the STAMPlorations blog and it´s time to start the regular challenges again. This months theme is FALL in all it´s glory!!!

So create a project featuring a TAG with a fall theme. As an optional twist you are asked to use gold, red and orange.

Here is what I created for the reveal and some steps how I created this tag:

Here is the step-by-step:

Step 1: Take various fall tones of Distress Oxides  and start stamping with the leaves stamp (Trendy Leaves) by first stamping the full/even/solid image in a lighter tone.

Step 2: After that take the decorated leaf images and stamp on top of the previously stamped images with a slightly darker tone. This way you create a two-toned, patterned, randomly colored leaf image.

Step 3: Die cut the leaf stamped paper with the tag die and outline with a black pen. Next stamp green toned leaves with the Layered Leaves stamp set in two steps. First stamp the green solid image, then stamp the „outline“ image with black ink. Now fussy cut. Step 4: Spray/apply golden Glimmer Mist on white paper and stamp the sentiment with black ink using the Woodland Friends stamp set. Fussy cut into a banner form. Next stamp an animal from the same set with black ink, fussy cut and color with spray inks/stamp inks. I ended up using a squirrel in the end as it better fitted the tag than the deer.  Now adhere everything on place and decorate with ribbon and sewing thread.

Now is your turn – remember to play by the rules:

  • you can link up as many projects as you want (1 project per blog post!!)
  • Projects can be anything but they must feature a TAG
  • Non-STAMPlorations products are also allowed
  • To qualify for the prize, you must display the challenge graphic on your blog post and link back to the challenge post (note: blogs only!)
  • Prizes: one $15 Giftcard for the winner and three $5 Giftcards to three randomly picked participants

Remember, you can get 20% off your order by adding „STAMPGIRLSANNA“ to your order upon checkout at the STAMPlorations store 🙂 !!!

Have fun with this months challenge!!!!
