DAP-journal – July 13th, 2022

Hello and happy Thursday! Today I am stopping by to share yet another page from my Daily Art Practice Journal:

For this one I used the almanac page as it was and continued the pattern from there towards the left side of the page. I really liked adding the purple flowers and then going crazy with the red and yellow splodges of paint. Oh, how fun it was to make those! I will definitely do that idea at some point again. This is the fun part of this project that it gives new ideas and techniques to try and to fall in love with.

The sentiment is again from the Tim Holtz stamp set. It is so very versatile! Love using it here!

Have a great Thursday everyone!

Hello and happy Wednesday! Today I am again sharing another page from my Daily Art Practice journal:

For this one I used old book pages and added them overlappingly onto the backgrond. Then I fussy cut the original almanac page into bits and added them randomly onto the page. After that I took a Tim Holtz paper doll and added butterfly wings on him and finished the page off with Tim Holtz sentiment stamps. I also added some depth to the edges wth a Dina Wakley scribble stick and some pink residue paint is also peeking thru some of the page bits (but that was already there).

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello and happy Tuesday! This is my share for today from my Daily Art Practice journal:

For this one I fussy cut the almanac page into smaller pieces and then created a similar toned background with Neocolor 2´ s to go with the original bits. After that I added some Dina Wakley Scribble Stick marks on top of everything else and the page was done.

Wishing you a lovely Tuesday evening,

DAP-Journal – July 4th, 2022

Hello and happy Monday! Today I am sharing another Daily Art Practice Journal page with you. This time with the Artist Almanac page as a focal point, untouched.

I really liked the branch in the middle as it is, so I just wanted to continue the cross-pattern on the page and added some washi tape, Dina Wakley scribble stick x´ s and some brown crayon outlining in a hue. The sentiment is fussy cut from a magazine page and says: “Plants for balance”.

I am so proud of myself that I have been able to continue past June with this project. I might finish way too late, but I am very much enjoying playing in this journal, so it does not matter to me. The 2023 Artist Almanac still sits unopened on my table 😉 – I might use it for a different purpose later this year. But first I want to finish off this journal.

Happy journaling!

DAP-journal – June 24th, 2022

Hello and happy Monday! How about some colour for the start for the week. I am using the Artist Almanac also as an inspiration learn new techniques and try out different ideas.

I might not have a clue, how the ORIGINAL idea was produced, but I try to re-create the same look with the media I have available. Or at least do similar things on my half of the page :). And it´ s really fun, too. Sometimes, really challenging and some days I really don´ t know how to do it. That is when I usually go a totally different way ;-).

But this practice reminds me of ideas and things one CAN and COULD do, instead of doing the same style all the time. I hope to learn something in the process and that is why I love the Artist Almanac so much. And if someone sees my takes as copies, that is okay. Because I am not trying to tell they were my own original idea. Because, obsiously, they weren´ t. I always add the original beside my piece :). I learn so much and come up with own ideas in the process, too. I really do enjoy this process – I might be hopelessly late with finishing 2022 (maybe it takes me 1,5 years to finish a 365 and so be it. I am not in a rush here 🙂 !

Wishing you all a lovely start into the new week! Hope it turns out to be amazing for all of you!
