I am proud to be representing STAMPlorations on this hop and I´ve created a card using their stamps, die cut dies and clear stickers <3! You might also want to check out their amazing stencils too *wink, wink* :)!

Here is my project. I created a bright and happy flower card with a sentiment that perfectly fits the #spreadjoynotgerms blog hop motto :).

Art journal spread “Find Beauty” – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone, it´s my turn today again to share another mixed media tutorial with you on STAMPlorations blog. For this month´s post, I´ve prepared an art journal spread with steps. I hope you like it!

I aimed for a light and happy spring feel page  and here is what it looks like:

And now to the steps:

Step 1: Start by adhering music note sheets onto the art journal with a varnish or a paper adhesive.

Step 2: Apply some gesso onto the music note sheets with a palette knife to create a slightly softer and lighter look.

Step 3: Take the Rose Garden stencil and some Distress Paints (worn lipstick, picked raspberry and twisted citron tones) and apply the paints thru the stencil onto the journal spread. I used two pink tones on the roses very randomly and created lighter and darker toned petals that way.

Step 4: Apply paint droplets onto the background with same paint tones using a water tank brush. Step 5: Fussy cut butterflies and adhere to the page, add a stamped sentiment with black stamp ink.
Step 6: Take a tag die cut die and use it as a drawing guide and draw a tag pattern with a black pen onto the background.
Step 7: Color the tags with yellow acrylic paint and let dry properly.
Step 8: Add outlining to the stenciled patterns with a black pen.
Step 9: Add a quote or journaling to the tags and finish off with black ink splatters.
Here are some details of the finished journal spread.

I hope you enjoyed today´s step-by-step and get inspired to play in your art journal a little! Have fun creating!!

Misted Mixed Media Tag – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and Happy Saturday! I´m up with another Mixed Media project share and tutorial over at the STAMPlorations blog today. For today´s post, I wanted to create a colorful mixed media tag.

Here is what I created:

And here is how I went upon creating this tag:  I have a book af cheap watercolor papers that have a coloring image on them. I went and die cut the Stitched Nesting Tag with my die cutting machine from that paper pad. The image just adds to the layers of my tag, I don´t mind it being there at all.Next I took the Heartfelt Hibiscus stamp image and using an embossing ink pad, stamped the image onto the background quite randomly. I only left some space at the very top for the Trendy Birds 2 clear stamp images. Those are also embossed with white embossing ink, like the flower images. I heat set the embossing powder with my heat tool. After that I took a set of spray inks and applied them onto the background. In between colours I used my heat tool to dry the particular spray ink layer abit, before adding the next one. I love the gorgeous shine the spray inks add to the background. Now you can also see the random flower pattern and the birds thru the misting. I repeated the same steps like above on the single bird image, this time using black spray ink. After the spray ink was dry, I fussy cut the image. Then I took a residue piece of white cardstock (I always save small pieces of paper for purposes like this) and stamped words from the Trendy Birds 2 stamp set onto the paper. I also applied a rub-on onto the paper and then inked the background green with spray ink. Next I fussy cut every piece.I then adhered all the fussy cut pieces on place and decorated the background with Nuvo Confetti (this adds an additional sparckle). For additonal detail I added some Nuvo Mousse thru the “Rag Rug” stencil with a palette knife here and there on the tag background. This adds an additional layer of texture and interest. For finishing touches I added some Nuvo Drops here and there and some ribbons. Here are some detail photos of the tag.

I hope you get inspired to play with stencils yourself and create a mixed media project of your own! When you do, remember to submit your project to the Mixed Media Challenge!

Also I am again adding my discount code for you to use. When you add “STAMPGIRLSANNA” upon checkout at the STAMPlorations store, you will get 20% off your order! Happy shopping &

Tagplorations March Challenge – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday! Today it´s again time to share this months Tagplorations challenge theme with you guys. This month the challenge is all about SPRING & BIRDS. Here is the challenge image:

And this is my take for the March Tagplorations reveal:

I die cut the Stitched Nesting Tag from a green toned polka dot paper. Then I stamped some Trendy Birds 2 images onto white cardstock with black stamp ink and colored them with golden Glimmer Mist to match the general color scheme.

Then I stamped the Heartfelt Hibiscus flower image onto white cardstock with embossing ink and applied white embossing powder on top. I heat set the powder with a heat tool. Next I colored the image with a water tank brush (Nuvo) and Distress Oxides. I also added some Nuvo Crystal Drops here and there for decoration. Then I fussy cut the image.

On the background there are tiny pink drops here an there. I filled some of the white polka dots with pink Nuvo Crystal Drops to create more sprackle. The “Spring” sentiment is a rub-ons that I attached on white cardstock, then colored it with Glimmer Mist Gold tone and fussy cut it afterwords. Now it´s your turn to play along! Be sure to check out the TAGplorations challenge for more inspirational projects and then join us with your project! Same rules apply, as always – you will find them here. Looking forward to seeing your makes!!

TAGplorations January challenge reveal

Hello lovelies and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! May this year bring you lots of creative fun, inspiration and happy moments!!! I hope you had time to relax during the holiday season and are now full of energy to get started with new challenges!!

Speaking of challenges, here comes this years first TAGplorations challenge – create a tag with a WNTER theme:

As an additional option you are asked to use some texture paste on your project.

Here is my take for the challenge:

I created a tag in completely white tones this time. There is a white winter landscape on this tag that is dimentional due to two layers of tag on top of each other. I created a window, but left the acetate out this time. Inside the tag, I used some Nuvo Mousse to create the fun star sky to go with the landscape.

The sentiment is die cut with a CUTplorations die cut die and I used Tonic Krafts golden glitter cardstock to add some sparckle to the card. Also some golden sequins, white loose glitter as well as glaze dots by Nuvo add to the shiny, sparckly white winter theme of this tag.

Now it´s again your turn to create a tag for this month´s challenge. Add your projects here and also remember to follow the rules to be eligble for the prize.

Happy crafting,
