25 Days of Christmas Tags Blog Hop – STAMPlorations

Hello there and welcome to day 22 of 25 days of Christmas Tags blog hop event organized by Tracey over at her „In My Creative Opinion blog„.

Today the STAMPlorations design team girls share their Christmas tags with you and I am happy be joining this hop and to share some Christmas tag inspo with you all. Here is what I did:

I used the CUTplorations Luggage Tag die cut die to create my shaker Xmas tag. The background some stenciling on it, created with a ARTplorations stencil. So all products used, including the stamps are all by STAMPlorations.

Besides the various STAMPlorations products, I´ve used salty ocean Distress Oxide ink and Ranger liquid pearls on the tag. The shaker is filled with various little bits and bobs like holographic snowflakes, trees and stars, some Stampendous glitter and Mica Fragments as well as Prima Art Stones to fill the shaker with various „sheakable“ elements :-).

After finishing the tag it occurred to me, that I could actually not only use this tag on a Christmas present, but also give it away as a present itself. It would make a lovely Christmas tree hanger for someone.

If you are interested in seeing how this tag came together, I´ve also created a short start-to-finish video for you to watch. It will give you a better idea of the various steps, incase you are not already familiar with shaker cards.

Now for the blog hop details:

Happy day – TAGplorations challenge reminder

Hello there, everybody! I hope you haven´t forgotten about the new TAGplorations monthly challenge over at STAMPlorations blog. It´s a fun one, so I hope you find time to play along. Incase you haven´t already, here is a kind reminder to do so :-)…

With a reminder tag project:

I´ve used pretty much the same techniques like on my reveal day project (see here) on these tags, except that I´ve added a die cut word on top of the colored and stamped image and some word stickers to go with that. And this time I didn´t make a card, but left the tag as it is. I figured, I could combine the cards and the tags with giving them to someone with a present, maybe.

I´ve again added some faux stitching and used Distress Ink for coloring. The stamped image is again heat embossed with white embossing ink and the die cut word as well as the alpha stickers got a layer of Glossy Accents on them for dimension. The little flags on the upper right corner are from a stickers sheet by Jenni Bowlin. Again trying to use some of my older stash here and there :).

I really do like these framed flower stamp images from STAMPlorations alot. I´m not very talented in coloring, but these are fun to color, because it does not show here if you are not that good at it :). So now it is again your turn to get creative! Do take a look at the project my DT colleagues have created for your inspiration and then grab some goodies and start creating!! There is still plenty of time to join in!!!

TAGplorations November challenge reveal

Hello there! It´s again time to share this months TAGplorations challenge with you!! I sure hope you will find time to play along with us over HERE!! 🙂 It´s a new monthly challenge and there are prizes to be won too, so get your craft on, peeps!!! :-D…
This months challenge is about GRATITUDE and as an optional element you are asked to use polka dots. Here is my project for the reveal:
The fun thing about this challenge is that you are allowed to create all kinds of projects, as long as they feature A TAG and are based on the monthly theme! Here you will find more about the rules.

My cards feature a CUTplorations nesting tag die (see full material list at the end of this post) and a polka dot patterned paper. I´ve also added a stamped and colored STAMPlorations stamp on top of the tag, plus a stamped gratitude theme related sentiment (also a STAMPlorations stamp set).

So I first die cut the polka dot paper with the CUTplorations nesting die, then stamped the flower image with embossing ink onto watercolor paper and used white embossing powder on top. After that I colored the image with Distress Inks and adhered the colored image onto the tag.

Finally I stamped a sentiment with black ink and fussy cut that. Then I just added the faux stitching, the ribbon and assemblied the pieces on their places. I wanted to create cards for this months reveal to show/remind you, that it is totally ok to create something else than just a plain tag – just remember to use a tag on your project! I am very much looking forward to seeing your projects!! Have fun creating and see you at the STAMPlorations blog!!

I´m also adding a kind reminder here that you can still use my gift card code at the STAMPlorations store and get 20% off your order with this code:

Wishing you Happiness – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone, it´s again my turn to share a mixed media tutorial with you over at the STAMPlorations blog. This time I created a set of fall coloured tags. Here is how they turned out:

I´ve used various STAMPlorations products on my tags (die cut dies, stencils and stamps). The paper is from my older stash, but it works really well with the fall color theme.

I´ve added a heavy body orange acrylic paint thru a stencil onto the background of each tag. After that I stamped some flowers onto the leftover paper pieces and fussy cut those. Then I added some color to them with Neocolor II water-soluble wax pastels and decorated them with liquid pearls.

There are all kinds of bits and bobs on these tags – including some washi tape, twine, Glimmer Glaze, ribbons and Distress Stickles. I really like playing with the STAMPlorations product lines. Everything works together so well and it is so much fun to add layers and details.  Of course I´ve again also prepared a start-to-finish video for you to watch! I hope you like it!

TAGplorations October challenge reminder

Hello there lovelies! Time to remind you of the TAGplorations monthly challenge. Remember the theme was FALL and as optional elements you can use colors ORANGE, RED and GOLD. There is still plenty of time to join in on this challenge, so start creating and play along! Here is my reminder tag for additional inspiration:

For this tag I´ve first die cut the red paper with the Tag #1 Nesting Dies (from the STAMPlorations store – see details at the end of this post). Then I´ve take a piece of tissue paper that came as a parcel filling and treated that piece with acrylic paints, a Gelli Plate and Hidden Hearts stencil to create pattern onto the tissue paper. Next I stamped some circles onto the paper and fussy cut them along the edges. They are adhered onto the tag with a matte varnish.

I then added some heavy paint thru a stencil (Forest of Leaves by STAMPlorations) on top of the images, let that dry and decorated with a rhinestone birdie, a goldgen leaf paperclip, a paper flower and a stamped, fussy cut image (stamp by STAMPlorations – see details at the end of this post). I had so much fun creating this tag. It was messy and in the middle of the process (when adding color to the tissue paper) my kids came to my scrap room and the look on their face said more than words ever could. Carefully they asked what on earch I was doing :)… Well, it might have looked kinda crazy to them, but in the end, when the pieces found their places, the tag turned out really to my liking. No matter what my kids might think of me/it ;-)…

So now is your time to get messy (or maybe not!). Remind you of the rules on how to play along (see the blog for details) and start creating! There are nice prizes to be won and lot´s of fun to be had just waiting for you!! Hope to see you join our challenge!

Happy crafting,

Soar tag – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone, it´s my turn to share a step-by-step mixed media project at the STAMPlorations blog and I thought I´d do something a little bit outside of my comfort zone. I created with flower patterned paper :). I rarely do! Here is what I did:

See, during the summer months I managed to buy some sale items from Fancy Pants Designs – older collections and I really fell in love with their Golden Days collection. I just adore the paper design which truly is not very „me“. So I took on a challenge to create a tag with this beautiful paper that I would normally not use for such purposes (if at all), since it is not my „go to“ style.

But I just couldn´t help myself after seeing the delicious colors of this collection.

Since the pattern is very bold on it´s own, it didn´t leave me that many possibilities to add to it, so I kept quite clean and simple, but still managed to add some mixed media bits and bobs to it!

 Here is what I did:

1. I fussy cut the paper into a size of a manila tag that I had in my stash.
2. I then took an iridescent toned glitter paste (I seem to have an affection towards iridescent lately..) and added some loose golden glitter to it to create a glitter paste that matches the colors of the tag.
3. Next I applied the paste thru the stencil, added white outlining and decorated the tag with die cut pieces, a stamped tag, wood veneer and some glitter glue.

Here is a start-to-finish video for you to watch! Hope you get inspired!!!

Happy crafting,

Tagplorations October Challenge – Fall

Hello there everybody, today marks the start of a new challenge at STAMPlorations blog, called TAGplorations. It is a tag theme related challenge, posting monthly challenges on the first Tuesday of the month (and a mid-month reminder/inspirational post on the 3rd Tuesday of the month). The challenges are all about tags and there will be a monthly theme around which you will be asked to create your tags. This months theme is FALL 🙂.

Here is my take on the theme:
You will also be given a color scheme or something else optional to work along the main theme. This time the optional theme is color. So use the colors RED, GOLD and ORANGE on your tag as an additional/optional twist to the fall theme.
For more details on the challenges, rules etc. – hop over to the TAGplorations blog (here). Here are some details: players can link up as many projects as they want (BUT ONLY 1 project per blog post), projects can be anything but it must feature a TAG, STAMPlorations product is not required, prizes are $10 Gift Card for the winner; $5 Gift Card each to the 2 top picks and If there are more than 50 entries -> 1 player will be randomly drawn to win her choice of CUTplorations dies worth up to $20. So what are you waiting for!! Join in with us for a fun tag challenge :)!!!

I did a inked background, added some stenciled elements on top, then some stamping (the sentiment) and finally added a Distress Oxide inked piece of paper that I had stamped fall leaves onto and fussy cut them on top of my tag. The leaves have golden details (heat embossed) on them. Finally some golden droplets here and there to finish off the tag. Annndddd… I´ve created a short start-to-finish video for you to watch as a bonus for the first TAGplorations challenge reveal. Hope you like it!!!

Altered wood block home decor piece

Hello everybody, we have had a little summer break from the regular STAMPlorations posts and they will be returning very soon, but it is not quite time for that yet. Therefore, today I´d like to share a „just for fun“ STAMPlorations tutorial with you.

I´ve created a home decor piece out of a wood block my dear husband cut for me into a shape of a house. I wanted to use motivational stamp sentiments as a focal point on this piece and built the layers and decoration around it. Here is what I did:

I also created a fast forward video with all the steps until to the finished block for you to watch. Hope you enjoy and get inspired to play a little with your stamps, stencils and media! Remember, there is no right or wrong, no right colors or wrong colors – just use what you have and like! Remember to have fun :).

Just in case you are interested on some products I´ve used on this project, I´ll add the LinkDeli links which will directly take you to each product (some products may not be available anymore, as they are from my older stash, but I will replace those with similar ones).

As always, if you would like to purchase any of the STAMPlorations products used on this project, feel free to grab my personal 20% off discount code (STAMPGIRLSANNA) and use it upon checkout at their store. It is valid for both regular prized as well as reduced product!

Warm Winter Wishes tag set – STAMPlorations

Hello everyone! It´s my turn to share a mixed media tutorial over at the STAMPlorations blog today again and today I am up with a set of three happy Christmas tags created with the Broken Glass ARTplorations stencil. This is what the set looks like:

Here is how I created the tags:

1. Fussy cut 3 tag bases from a piece of white cardstock.

2. Take two pieces of red patterned paper and place the stencil over the paper. Now trace the broken glass pattern with a pencil onto the paper. Remove the stencil and fussy cut the pieces with scissors for the first tag.

3. Next place the stencil over the tag and start glueing the fussy cut pieces onto the tag using the stencil as a glueing guide. Leave to dry, before cutting the residue pieces off along the edges of the tag.

4. For the second tag repeat step two, but instead of cutting the pieces off the paper with scissors, use a precision knife to cut along the pencil lines. Remove the pieces and put them aside. Not take the outline piece and glue it onto the tag. Leave to dry and cut off residue along the edges when dry.

5. For the last tag use the leftover pieces from tag two. Glue like on the first tag (see step three).

6. Place the stencil onto the tag, apply gitter paste thu it and let dry properly. Repeat on all three tags.

7. Next adhere the die cut sentiment onto a piece of red patterned paper and fussy cut along the die cut word. Adhere some turquoise lace onto the tags and adhere the die cut sentiment on top.

8. Decorate with stickers, cork, chipboard pieces and add glitter glue, white texture spray and a red ribbon on top for additional decoration.

Here is a start-to-finish video on how I created the tags – hope you like it!

And some detail shots of the finished tags:

I hope you enjoyed this little stencil idea and got inspired to get those stencil out and join our fun challenges and get crafty!!!

Happy crafting,
Sanna
