Altered Christmas tree baubles – Ornament No.: 1

Hi there, I thought I´d be sharing 6 different kind of altered Christmas tree baubles along the twelve days. Let´s start with the super fast and easy one!

Sanna Lippert For starters I bought a set of decoupage Christmas tree baubles from an art supply store. First I covered the surfaces with white gesso.

Sanna Lippert Next I took some serviette varnish & glue (matte) and twisted hemp rope natural from the Canvas Corp rope selection. I like this one very much, because it is two toned! I covered the bauble with varnish & glue (a relatively thick layer is needed) and rolled the cord around the bauble starting from the very bottom of the bauble and rolled until all the way up. As an alternative you could also use a thick paper glue or gel medium etc. Then I let the ornament dry properly. The best way to dry it is to let it hang somewhere. And that´s it! That is how easy it was!!!

Sanna Lippert Here is a little detail shot of the first ornament. I will share close-ups and pretty detailed photos of all the ornaments in my final ornament post – hope you will come back to see the next five altered baubles I created 🙂 !!! Will be sharing one every second day. See you soon!
