Now & then (start to finish layout) – Canvas Corp Brands

Hello again! Today I´d like to share a fun project I created for/with the Canvas Corp Brands products. It made me especially happy to see them use this particular layout as one of their webshop category photo (see here). Thanks so much, Canvas Corp Brands, had my little proud moment when I saw it there <3!!

Here is my start to finish layout project:

Sanna LippertAs a base for this layout I use the thick hand made paper from Canvas Corp. It is perfect for misted projects, as it is thicker than regular cardstock and also absorbs and reacts diffeerently with inks and mists than regular paper. So I first marked the areas where I would want to place my photos and banners with a pencil, before adding some white light texture paste onto the background. I used a „numbers“ The Crafter´s Workshop stencil for this purpose.

Sanna LippertI also used a 6×6″ sized The Crafter´s Workshop stenicl to add additional texture and pattern here and there. I let the paste air dry.

Sanna LippertNext I misted the paper with water spray and then added blue, red and yellow spray ink. I let the ink spread quite freely around the paper.

Sanna LippertWhile the paper was drying, I started inking the canvas bunting pieces. Here I used a Simply Sheer dark red tone mist and blue and yellow Baseboard tones. I added all three colors to each banner and let them dry a little.

Sanna LippertI also added some black Glimmer Glaze splatters here and there. Me and black Glimmer Glaze – partners for life 😉 …

Sanna LippertWhile the banners were drying, I stamped some patterns onto the layout background using a hand carved stamp and blue ink.

Sanna LippertThen I drew some hearts here and there with black high impact paint and a thin paint brush.

Sanna Lippertand then again, some black Glimmer Glaze 🙂 …

Sanna Lippertand next some doodles and arrows hand drawn with a black Sharpie.

Sanna LippertTime to put the banners and the photos on their places. I used Evalicious puffy stickers and cork stars (I think these are by Studio Calico..) as embellishments. Then I added some wood veneer letters, but they didn´t stand out enough from the background, so I painted them with black High Impact paint.

Sanna LippertNext I outlined the stenciled numbers with a pencil for more contrast.

Sanna LIppertand here is the finished layout:

Sanna LippertI hope you have enjoyed reading thru this little start to finish tutorial. Wish you happy scrappy times!!!

ATC Tutorial – Canvas Corp Brands

Hi there! A while back I posted these ATC´s and promised to share the step-by-step with you. Well, here is how I created them:

Sanna LIppertFor this project I used a  light pink & a light purple Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, a 7gypsies stamp and some black Glimmer Glaze.

Sanna LippertI started with a piece of white cardstock that I had first pressed an inked The Crafter´s Workshop stencil onto and then cut the paper into ATC sized (3.5″ x 2.5″) pieces. Well, actually the inked ones were just a little bit smaller, because I had used pink cardstock to mat them onto. So the pink cardstock had the true ATC size.

Sanna LippertI then went along and stamped a sentiment from the 7gypsies stamp with black ink onto each stenciled piece. Next I added a piece of twine and used a stapler to attach it to the ATC´s.

Sanna LippertAfter that I added black Glimmer Glaze splodges here and there very freely, followed with light pink and light purple Glimmer Mist ones.

Sanna Lippert I then punched some Martha Stewart butterflies from a dark pink cardstock as decoration, adhered with with paper glue onto the surface, outlined the stenciled paper (& the butterflies) with a black pen and fussy cut sentiments from this Tattered Tangles paper for each ATC.

Sanna LippertSanna LippertThis is how the finished ATC cards looked like! There was yet another card for the October Breast Cancer Awareness theme that I created. It is a fairly easy one to do. I just fussy cut a sentiment from this Tattered Tangles paper, misted it with light pink Glimmer Mist,

Sanna Lippertthen cut the „black and kraft, live, laugh, love“ paper into right size, stapled a piece of pink cord onto it and finally adhered the paper onto a white card base. Fast and easy!

I still have a few unshared projects up my sleeve, so hope you come back to take a look what I have been upto :).

Have a great day,

Beach time – Canvas Corp Brands

Hi there! I scrapped again – this time in A4 format. I just love this format!!! It is perfect for smaller photos and/or a one photo layout. I wanted to leave lots of empty space on this layout and clustering everything around the single photo. I´ve actually used only a few elements on this page – there a quite a few tags from the „Get Away“ tag set and then just a few bits and pieces of paper/burlap to go with those. The tag set is such a fun one to use. The tags have perfect sayings/words on them that kind of form the journaling of the page.

I´ve added those tags around the photo, then cut a strip of the star paper and a piece from a Tattered Tangles paper to go with the tags. A small piece of burlap had the perfect color to go with the beach themed photo and then just a few random splodges and splatters of Glimmer Mist to combine everything together and the layout is almost done.

I´ve colored the Tattered Tangles piece with the same Glimmer Mist tones as I have used on the background. This way everything works well together.

Next I just added some travel themed metal embellishments and a few additional splatters of black Glimmer Glaze here and there. Some faux stitching around the edges and my clean & simple beach themed layout was done.

If you would like to go shopping, here are a few direct links to the products I´ve used on this layout: Cardstock, star paper, Tattered Tangles paper, Get Away Tags, Burlap, Patina Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Glaze.

Wishing you lovelies a gorgeous day – have fun scrapping!!!

Such a lovely day – More MMCC inspiration

Happy Wednesday everyone! Time to share some more card inspiration for this months Mixed Media Card Challenge! This moths challenge is all about the color blue. Sounds like a fun challenge!! I hope you will find some time to play along with us.

Remember the 12×12 inch paper piece I created for this challenge? This particular piece is from the upper right corner of that paper sheet.

There is some blue spray ink, some blue stamping (hand carved stamp), some blue toned iridescent paste as well as some hand drawn blue marker circles on the background. I´ve then added a blue burlap piece onto the card, assemblied some paper flowers and My Mind´s Eye brads next to the burlap ribbon. After that I´ve used a blue sticker sentiment (I think that was by My Mind´s Eye too). Finally, I added some blue rhinestones as well as blue Glimmer Glaze droplets onto the card as additional detail.

So now it´s your turn – if you haven´t played along yet, there is still plenty of time to do so! Hope to see you at MMCC!! Have fun with the challenge!!

Misted and stenciled layout background – Canvas Corp Brands

Hello there, everyone! Summer is finally here! We´ve had our share of some pretty hot weather the past days. Even though it has been so warm, you will not hear me complain. I love summer, I really, really like the warm weather more than the cold and dark winter days. You might have also noticed that many of my layouts have summer photos on them. A coincidence? I do not think so ;-).

And therefore, I will be sharing another summer themed page right now :-). This one features my boys on a vacation a few years back. Half buried into the beach sand playing with their Pokemon figures. Fun times & great memories.

I´ve used quite a few Canvas Corp Brands products on this layout. Starting from the kraft cardstock, spray inks, canvas ribbon and the little paper embellishments. I wanted to add different layers of ink, paste and paint here and there and kept the colors very natural (yellows, browns, blueish green/patina & sandy tones). Here is a little video on what I did – it has been a while since my last one… hope you like this one!

And here are a few close-up photos. The stencil I´ve used is by The Crafter´s Workshop. I´ve tried to add all product infos to the video, but if you have any questions, leave me a comment and I will do my best to answer them :).

These little black & white maritime tags are so cool as you can change their color to match any project just by spraying them with some spray ink. I´ve pretty much misted every item on this layout, by the way. The journaling is written on a DIY kraft tag and hidden behind the photo.

Here is a close-up of one of my favorite spray ink tones – the Glimmer Mist Verdigris. It has beautiful golden/bronze glimmer combined with a beautiful blueish ink tone.

Cannot wait for our next vacation – could be that you will be seeing some more vacation & summer themed layouts in the future too. Have fun scrapping and put your mixed media goodies in action ;-)!!
