„The New Normal“ – Studio Tekturek

Hello and happy Thursday! It´s again „Studio Tekturek-day“ on my blog today. Have you been following their social media sites recently? If not, there are great news – their STORE IS NOW ONLINE. So if you have been waiting to be able to shop some Studio Tekturek goodness, go to: shop.studiotekturek.com!!

So if you, for example, like the Strawberry Shake collection that I´ve used on the above layout, you now can do so. Also, new customers get a discount of 15% for their first order!!! How cool is that!!?

The papers and stickers are all from the Strawberry Shake collection and I love the versatility of this collection so much. It´s so perfect for everyday scrapbooking! The other products I´ve used are either from my own (older) stash (Wycinanka chipboard and Technique Tuesday stamps) or from other manufacturers, like Bramblefox.

I´ve again recorded a start-to-finish video (partly spoken, partly fast-forward). I hope the video inspires you and gets you scrapping yourself!! I´ll be back with another scrapbook layout and video on the 29th of November. See you then again!

Wishing you a fabulous day and happy scrappy moments!

Metallic toned die cut cards – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello everyone and happy Thursday!! Today I´m back at Elizabeth Craft Designs blog with another guest design team member post. This card idea started from idea to use white Soft Finish Cardstock in a different way. Also, due to the pandemic weddings had to be postponed by many people this summer and are now slowly taking place, the need for wedding cards moved to fall. Thus the love theme today.

For this card idea I´ve used only the same dies and yet they all look so different. It´s because I´ve treated them with a metallic media. My starting point by each of these cards was the same; white Soft Finish Cardstock!

All 3 cards still look so different due to the color choices. The dies are the same, only the colours vary. And the background paper I´ve used for matting everything.

I´ve again recorded a step-by-step video for you to watch – hope you like the idea!

Be sure to check out the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog for written steps and more photos of all cards.

I hope you could inspire you today to see the versatility of plain white cardstock. There are so many ways to give it a different look and it´s always a great starting point for many projects.

Also I would like to note that hoarding various media is not a good idea. This happened to me recently when I opened one of my Nuvo Embellishment Mousses. They had ALMOST completely dried up! I was able to save a few, but also had to toss quite a few. So, take my word for it: use the product you buy. Use it before it get´s old! So these cards were also an opportunity to use up some of those mousses. You might be seeing other metallized projects showing up here on my blog – I learned my lesson and am for sure going to use the product now and not be sorry later :).

I´ll be back next month with another Elizabeth Craft Designs guest member project. Hope to see you then!!

Happy crafting,

Mr. Grimasse! – The Wild Hare Kits

Hello and happy Sunday!!! Today I´m sharing my second project created with the Wild Hare Kits September Petite Kit. This time the layout features the Carta Bella stencil from my kit with some Sparkle City papers and stickers.

For this layout I´ve used a piece of 8×11 inch white cardstock as my starting point and then combined Shimelle´s Sparkle City paper and stickers with the Carta Bella Garden Geometric Stencil.

This layout I about my dad, who I lost way too early. I really like this photo of him so very much, because now I know from whom my boys inherited the „funny face in photos“-personality :-). So no wonder I cannot get a decent photo of my boys…ever! Always pulling faces, the two. I´d love to see my dad to see how similar my boys are to him…

And now to the steps – here is what I did:

  1. Take the Garden Geometric Stencil by Carta Bella and place it on a white piece of cardstock in the size of 8×11 inches. Take a blending brush and apply Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink thru the stencil onto the white cardstock. Repeat throughout the whole paper.
  2. Next take the Sparkle City „office paper with rays“ by Shimelle and cut the rays apart with scissors. Now arrange them onto the stenciled background paper leaving a little open space between each „ray“. Adhere on place. Now arrange the photos onto the page. I used two exact same photos for a repeated look, which creates more interest to the page in my opinion.
  3. Now take a black pen and add faux stitching to the blue toned paper „rays“.
  4. Adhere the photos on place and attach stickers and a fussy cut tag next to the photos into a cluster.
  5. Stamp small sentiments with black ink onto the rays for a fun detail and add a few black ink splatters here and there for additional interest.
  6. Outline the layout using a black marker and add the journaling.

I´ve again recorded a start-to-finish video for you to watch! I hope you like it and get inspired by it. By the way, we (as in the design team girls) would love to see your The Wild Hare Kit creations, so be sure to tag us on social media and use #thewildharekits, so we can find your lovely work and come and leave some love!!

Happy scrapping and see you again on the 25th over at the Wild Hare Kits blog! We´ll be sharing our monthly team member scraplift projects on that day! I cannot wait to see what everyone has created!!! This month we are scraplifting the lovely Laura Rahel Crosby !!

Happy scrapping,

Art Journal Page – STAMPlorations

Hello there and happy Sunday! Today it´s again time for the STAMPlorations Mixed Media challenge reveal for May. I created an art journal page for this months reveal.

Here is what I created:
And here are the steps:

I started with a yellow Distress Oxide background – applying the ink onto the page with a blending brush. Next I placed the RagRug stencil onto the page and applied orange Distress Ink tone on top of the yellow color thru the stencil.

I gradually moved towards darker colours and also changed the stencil in the process. For example, I created a frame with the Fairy Tale Forest stencil and green Distress Oxide tones. I wanted to leave a „white space“ into the middle of the page for the text. After that particular stencil I took the Dream Flower stencil and a coral Distress Oxide tone and brushed the ink next to the green frame  with the blending brush.

Finally, I again changed the stencil and took a purple Distress Oxide tone and applied it thru the Cornflower stencil along the sides of the page. Now my „frame“ was ready for some text I wanted to add to the page.
I first wrote the text using a black pen, then doodled a scalloped frame around it and colored it with a green Posca marker.

I had a great time creating this page – it was quite meditative, actually, to layer the stencils, the inks and the patterns overlappingly on top of each other. It´s almost like the sun is peeking thru the middle of the page framed by all those flowers and leaves.

Oh, and remember that you can get 20 % off your order by using following code upon checkout at the STAMPlorations store: STAMPGIRLSANNA. Enjoy!

So now is again your turn. Create a mixed media project using a stencil and submit it to the challenge. But before that, hop over to the STAMPlorations blog to get inspired by the artworks my design team colleagues created for this months reveal.

Happy stenciling,

Your day card – Tonic Studios

Helo lovelies, today I´m sharing yet another card, created using mainly Tonic Studios product in combination with Distress Inks. For this card I blended the background in various orange ink tones and added a die cut heart into the middle as my centerpiece.

This heart die is one of the Tonic Studios German sentiment dies. I die cut it from white cardstock and adhered it onto the inked background with the Nuvo Glue Pen. It workds really well on die cut elements. Also, you coud use double sided adhesive sheets for adhering. Those will guarantee really easy to adhere and clean results.

For decoration I added some Nvuo Glitter Accents dots here and there.

So all in all this is a very clean and simple card and really easy to make. The sentiment in the middle says: „Today is your day“.

That´s all from me for today. See you soon again with more projects! Hope you will drop by my blog and take a look.

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna
