All about winter – TAGplorations

Hello there, everyone and Happy New Year 2018!!!! I hope you had a lovely Christmas time and a nice New Years evening. Let´s start the new year with a creative TAGplorations tag challenge: create a project, featuring a tag around the theme: ALL ABOUT WINTER!

Here is my project for the reveal:
I first die cut a manila tag from black cardstock with the Manila Tags Nesting Dies by STAMPlorations. Then I die cut the second, smaller tag, from blue cardstock with the Tags 1 set. The snowflake is a lefover piece from another project and it perfectly goes with the winter theme, so I used it as a focal point on my tag.

I used the Christmas Tree 1 (my stencil series at STAMPlorations) and misted some trees with Sandy Beach Tattered Angels Chalkboard ink onto the background. The snowflake was originally white. I used a Chalkboard spray ink to color the snowflake blue (Wave tone). Then I added some faux stitching around the edges with a white gel pen and decorated the snowflake with some rhinestones. The little white snowflakes are hand drawn on the background. And finally I added a stamped sentiment to the tag and finished the tag off with a piece of ribbon.

Now it´s your turn to join the challenge. TAGplorations CHALLENGE GUIDELINES:

  • Create a project based on the theme with or without the twist.
  • Your project(s) can be anything but it must have a tag (or tags) in it.
  • Link up as many projects as you wish as long as they are in separate blog posts.

12 tags of 2015 – December w/ Canvas Corp Brands product

Hello there, lovelies! I´ve wanted to share this tag for months now, but never came found the time. This tag is created with Canvas Corp Brands product and after the 12 tags of 2015 – December tutorial by Tim Holtz. Here is what I did:

Sanna Lippert1. I took piece of Canvas Corp canvas and placed a The Crafter´s Workshop stencil over the surface. I used washi tape to adhere the stencil on it´s place. Sanna Lippert2. Next I sprayed some Baseboard Mist Paint (Gerber) spray ink over the canvas piece. Sanna Lippert3. I always use the residue ink too, by pressing a watercolor paper over the damp surface. That way I get a second image – it might come handy for a journal or another mixed media project later.  Sanna Lippert4. This is how the misted canvas looks like. Sanna Lippert5. My tag is not very chrismassy, as I used hydrangea petals (punch by Martha Stewart) for the wreath. Here I punched them from a piece of ivory cardstock (also by Canvas Corp Brands.) Sanna Lippert6. I then placed the petal over a dry baby wipe and misted them with Kiwi spray ink (by Tattered Angels – also a Canvas Corp Brand). Sanna Lippert7. Next I adhered the canvas and the wreath pieces on to a tag. I used a piece of golden yarn as a „wreath base“, adhering the green petals along it. Then I added a few silver rhinestones on top of the petals for additional interest. A green ribbon from my stash went on top. Sanna Lippert8. I used some Tim Holtz rub-ons on ivory cardstock, then misted the with Boardwalk Glimmer Mist over the area to create a grayish background. Sanna Lippert9. I cut the sentiments onto banners and adhered them onto the tag. Then I added some grey Glimmer Glaze splatters onto the background. A little Prima pebble also found it´s way onto the tag. Sanna Lippert10. Finally, some white platters had to be added too. I used the Liquitex Titanium White Ink for this purpose. Sanna LippertIn the end I resized the tag abit as I didn´t like the grey tone on top. Notice that I even did the sewing, like on Tim´s tag. And I am definitely really bad in sewing :-).  Sanna LippertThis is the finished tag – and some close-ups to follow too. Really enjoyed making this!!! Sanna Lippert Sanna Lippert Sanna Lippert Sanna Lippert This tag has been touring with the Canvas Corp booth since CHA 2016. I´m kinda jelous of it, it get´s to see so many fairs I cannot attend 😉 …

Happy crafting,

Misted and stenciled layout background – Canvas Corp Brands

Hello there, everyone! Summer is finally here! We´ve had our share of some pretty hot weather the past days. Even though it has been so warm, you will not hear me complain. I love summer, I really, really like the warm weather more than the cold and dark winter days. You might have also noticed that many of my layouts have summer photos on them. A coincidence? I do not think so ;-).

And therefore, I will be sharing another summer themed page right now :-). This one features my boys on a vacation a few years back. Half buried into the beach sand playing with their Pokemon figures. Fun times & great memories.

I´ve used quite a few Canvas Corp Brands products on this layout. Starting from the kraft cardstock, spray inks, canvas ribbon and the little paper embellishments. I wanted to add different layers of ink, paste and paint here and there and kept the colors very natural (yellows, browns, blueish green/patina & sandy tones). Here is a little video on what I did – it has been a while since my last one… hope you like this one!

And here are a few close-up photos. The stencil I´ve used is by The Crafter´s Workshop. I´ve tried to add all product infos to the video, but if you have any questions, leave me a comment and I will do my best to answer them :).

These little black & white maritime tags are so cool as you can change their color to match any project just by spraying them with some spray ink. I´ve pretty much misted every item on this layout, by the way. The journaling is written on a DIY kraft tag and hidden behind the photo.

Here is a close-up of one of my favorite spray ink tones – the Glimmer Mist Verdigris. It has beautiful golden/bronze glimmer combined with a beautiful blueish ink tone.

Cannot wait for our next vacation – could be that you will be seeing some more vacation & summer themed layouts in the future too. Have fun scrapping and put your mixed media goodies in action ;-)!!

Bon Appetit – Canvas Corp Brands

Hi there! Today I´m sharing yet another Canvas Corp layout with you. This one is about food. Well, who does not like good food? I know I do. And very often we have special memories from places we had special foods at – what better way to capture those memories than to create a layout about them.

These photos were taken from our day trip to a very popular Austrian wine region called Wachau. They have gorgeous wine gardens and scenery there AND good food :). The Farmhouse Kitchen collection is just perfect for those foodie shots!! Here is my layout with a little step-by-step:

I first chose my photos, assemblied them onto the ivory cardstock and then cut two various sized paper strips from the Farmhouse Kitchen on Kraft paper. I also chose a turquoise strip of lace to go with the papers.

Next I took some Baseboard and Chalkboard mists (blue, red and green) and applied them one tone after another onto an acrylic block.

After applying the spray paint onto the block I quickly pressed the colour onto the ivory cardstock and let it soak into the paper. This way it formed totally random patterns onto the background and added interest. I´ve also added some random splatters in the same colours here and there.

Next I used a 7gypsies stamp and stamped the word „seriously“ several times onto the area where the photos would be going to be later. I also added some black Glimmer Glaze splodges here and there for additional interest and let those air dry.

While the paint was drying I fussy cut some additional images from the Farmhouse Kitchen on Kraft paper to later add them onto the layout next to my photos.

Here you can see how I added the fussy cut images. There are also some Gypsy Moments roses in there – I´ve fussy cut those from a small file folder piece. The numbers are also by Canvas Corp. Oh, and the lovely red and ivory polka dot paper is also from their paper selection – I´ve just punched some bigger and smaller flowers out of it and added them for addtional decoration.

I´ve added some wood veneer to go with the papers as I think they make a perfect pair :). These are all from my stash. And this is how my finished layout looks like:

If I now got you interested in the region and typical Austrian food/wine, here is a link for you to see some general information and here some more details about the Wachau region.

Happy scrapping,
