First of July, can you believe it?!! Where has the time gone? Therefore it is again time to share the new Mixed Media Card Challenge with you :). This time the theme is to use the color BLUE and as an optional element you can add a VASE.
I´ve used a big 12×12 inch watercolor paper as a starting point and first misted it with water spray, then added blue spray ink onto the surface and let it spread freely around the paper and form random patterns.
When the paper was dry I next added random stamping with blue ink here and there using various hand carved stamps from my stash. I then went along and kinda split the paper in 4 areas and added various media on these areas. There is pearlescent paste on one corner, added thru a The Crafter´s Workshop stencil. On the other corner I´ve added some Fragments (as a „glue“ I used Glossy Accents). On the lower left corner I´ve applied paper glue and dabbed some embossing powder on those areas. I then used then heat set it with a heat gun. And finally, on the right bottom corner I´ve added Glossy Accents here and there and then poured a layer of Distress Glitter on those areas. I´ve kept all media in blue tones.
The only thing missing is a vase :). On this particular card you see the Distress Glitter piece. I´ve then added a few pearl arrows from Prima (colored blue with a marker), a blue twine around the circle, a flower and a brad as well as some outlining with a blue pen and a stamped sentiment (again using a hand carved stamp here).
Now it is your turn – but before you get those blue papers and inks and media out, make sure to hop over to the MMCC blog to take a look at the gorgeous cards my design team colleagues created. Also make sure to come by later this month for more inspiration :). Have fun with the challenge and see you at MMCC!!!
