Hello everyone and happy Thursday! Today I´m again stopping by to share another face experiment/face drawing in a bigger format in my black Ranger Inc. art journal. You know I did #the100dayproject this year for the very first time and drew 100 faces on tags.
While I did that challenge, I also from time to time practised the same image in a bigger format into my art journal to see how I´d do with that. It´s actually quite challenging – at least I find it challenging – to first draw a smaller face and then draw a bigger one immediately after in same manner. Getting the proportions approximately right is good practise.
For this face I again used the Neocolor 2 crayons and created this monochromatic look. So I used solely purple shades here.
I am still in awe about how much you can learn in just 100 days. Imagine you practise a little of someting every day for a year!! The things you can achive in that time..!
For this months reminder post I again played in my art journal. This time creating a face. I´ve been doing #the100dayproject2021 over at my Insta account drawing faces on tags and try to do some faces also in my art journal (bigger size!!) from time to time. Once you get used to a smaller size, it´s not the easiest to scale into bigger size, so that definitely need some practizing. And what better place to add some fun stenciling, than a page with a face?!
I had rolled some leftover paint from my brayer into the background (pink salmon/peach and light blue) and it looked so good against the kraft paper that I wanted to paint a face around the colours. I used Neocolor 2 crayons for coloring and painting the face and Stabilo all black for outlining. I also hid some older rub-ons here and there onto the page.
And for finishing touches I used one of my stencils (Flowers 2) to create details to the face. Now is again your turn! Hoping to see you play along this month and submit lovely stenciled artwork to the May challenge!!!
Remember to play by the rules – otherwise you cannot be counted in for the monthly prizes!! You will find the rules at the end of the main challenge post always.
Also, like always, do take advantage of my discount code at the STAMPlorations store!! It´s 20% off your order :). See you at STAMPlorations, lovelies!!!
Hello and happy Tuesday!! So I have been doing #the100dayproject for the first time and I´ve been drawing faces on tags for that. It´s almost done now and in between the smaller sized faces I did a few in my art journals too. This one, for example, was one done in just a few minutes with Scribble Sticks by Dina Wakley.
I challenged myself to draw a face as quikly as I could on a canvas page. It was tricky, as canvas moves under the crayon. I also just drew and didn´t presketch anything! Thus the wonky proportions :).
But it was really fun to try this out. I might leave this page as is or come back to it later and add bits and bobs or only use parts of the face or add tags on top. I haven´t figured that part out yet. But it was a fun exercise nevertheless!
We´ll see how this page develops from here ;-). Have a great day! xxx, Sanna
Hello and happy Tuesday! I´ve been doing #the100dayproject for over 70 days now and in between the drawn tags I also did a few experiments in my Ranger art journal. Here is one of them – a „one-line“ face:
I drew this one on a page I had pressed some wet Nuvo Embellishment mousse residue onto and then just using my Stabilo all black pencil drew a face never lifting the pencil from the paper.
It turned out very masculine and I really like how the lips and eye areas look like. I didn´t want to add anything else to the page (for now). Maybe later I might add some journaling, stenciling or paint details to it, but I am still just admiring it as it is.
And here is my art project for this months reveal:
I again created an art journal page for my Ranger Art Journal – this time featuring colours I hardly ever use in my journal. Brown with mint green and pink. Well, pink you can find, but in this combo not so often!
There is some crazy layering going on on this page. I´ve done the tag with a Gelli Arts gel plate using acrylic paints, DIY foam stamps and then finishing the tag off with Dina Wakley Gloss Spray and my Art Flowers 1 stencil. On the background I´ve got a layer of gesso, then a layer of mint green spray ink, then a tissue piece I´ve stenciled the Art Flowers 1 pattern in ombré style. Then some very well hidden asemic writing. On top of that some strips of washi, designed by my lovely friend, Tina Walker! Then some bits and bobs from my other lovely crafty friend Lizzy that came in a happy mail awhile ago. Also featuring one of her was seals she sent me. Then some black ink splatters (still love adding them!). And some die cut leaves, covered with washi from Elizabeth Craft Designs. And for finishing touches the words that Lizzy also gave me.
As you can see, I was not exaggerating about the layers! I think this is one of the layer-richest pages in this journal so far. And still, it does not look too crowded. Still some white space here and there!!
Now it´s again your turn! Play along (and remember to play by the rules if you want to be in for the prizes!!!) and do some fab artworks with stencils! It can be anything from a wall art piece to textile work to aprons to ATC´s to cards or something else. Just AS LONG AS you used A STENCIL!! Hop over to the STAMP blog and get inspired by the DT girls creations and then have some stencil fun yourself! Can´t wait to see what you make!
