Craft for a Cause – Blog Hop for Shery Russ

Hello everyone and happy Sunday! Today I am sharing a craft post for a cause: We are organizing fundraising for our friend Shery Russ. Shery is a paper crafter, creative designer, illustrator and owner of @stamplorations along with her husband. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2022, and it has spread to her right pelvis. She and her husband David have two beautiful daughters, who are 6 and 4 years old.

Shery has been unable to work since receiving her diagnosis, and as of May 23, David is responsible for pretty much everything due to Shery’s chemo treatments. So we join together to send her some good energy and help thru purchases/donations with this crafty hop. (Please read all the way to the end for a change to win a little prize, too).

I created this card for Shery using STAMPlorations stencils and papers from my own stash. The stamped elements are also done with STAMPlorations stamps. Now due to the treatments and concentrating on her cancer journey, she has clearly not been able to keep the sore open as usual, BUT if you want to help, here are some options:

July 3, 2022 — Since my breast cancer diagnosis in April, I’ve had to drastically cut back on work. I needed to focus on getting to doctor appointments, having labs/scans/tests/procedures done, and (since May 23) going to chemo treatments. Our online store is our family’s main income source; our finances have taken a major hit since my diagnosis.

As my physical health allows, I’m making select products available to order. I’ve bundled them up and put them in envelopes so they are ready to be mailed as soon as possible. They are also available at up to 64% off (either at an instant discount or with their respective discount codes indicated on the product titles and product descriptions). At this time, we are shipping only within the US and Canada. I need to keep shipping simple for when my husband has to take over shipping duties. Shipping is either a flat $5 (orders under $35) or free anywhere in the US, while shipping to Canada is a flat $21 (inclusive of duties and taxes via Delivered Duty Paid).

For our loyal customers and friends who have asked about ways to help us during this time, a sister at our church has put up a Meal Train page for our family — those who live close by us could bring us prepared meals, and those who live far could send us gift cards through GrubHub or donate money to ease our financial burden. If you would like to donate directly, we have created a page dedicated to our family’s breast cancer journey that we will regularly update.

Whether you order from our store, help us through Meal Train, or make a donation, our family is eternally grateful for your help and generosity!

Also what you can do to support Shery and her family is you can go to the STAMPlorations digital product section and purchase designs there. Here is the direct link there. Any purchase and donation is a help, no matter how small!

To follow the blog hop, please kindly start from Sadia´ s Instagram page and hop along from there. Any kind of help towards Shery´ s family is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support and/or purchase.

Happy mail from Australia

Hello everyone and happy Easter Monday! I recently received a set of mixed media art print papers from Yuna in Australia. She has been watching my videos on YouTube (daily art practices) and she contacted me to ask me, if she could send me some happy mail!

I first thought she had misteken my location to Australia instead of Austria. But that wasn´ t the case. She wanted to send me some of her art work prints to play with all the way to Europe! And here they are:

That is so very, very kind of Yuna! I cannot wait to play with them and add them to my art journal!! I will make sure to share on my YT channel, when I incorporate these pieces, too! Thank you so much Yuna, that is so very kind of you to send me your work as prints! They are just lovely!!! I cannot wait to play with them!

Thanks again so much,

DP Dezember 2021 Scrapbooking kit & news flash

Hallo ihr Lieben (for English, please scroll down)!

Hello lovelies! I have some special news to share and since it is a German company, I did something I haven´ t done here for AGES. I wrote the intro in German first. So what are the news then – here goes:

In summer, while on vacay in Greece, I noticed a DT call go up for a German online store, who´ s stamp line I have been a big fan of, for, like FOREVER. I typed my application on my mobile phone at the beach (lol!) and ended up sending it thru at least 3 times, due to a bad connection. Nevertheless me bombarding the store owners mailbox, she went thru my application and I made it to the “recall”. After making sample works and after plenty of excited waiting I received the news that I had made the team. I might have just squealed a little when I received the mail :-D.

It is now official and I got some happy mail mid last week to play with. I will be sharing work done with their December Scrapbooking kit very soon, but for starters I put the “unboxing”/flip-thu kit video up. Hope you enjoy!! There will be more Dani Peuss store related posts to follow on regular basis. Hope you enjoy!! Also, chech out the Dani Peuss Insta post to see who are my teamies (link can be found unter the pic).

Have a fabulous day!

#finishedinfeb Challenge – product pack reveal

Hello everyone and happy Thursday! Today I´m quickly sharing one of my February projects that I´m planning on doing: the #finishedinfeb challenge, organized/started by Donna.

And since February is just around the corner, I have gathered some older product together that I bought ages ago, but never used so far! Believe me, there are very many options in my stash still, but I randomly just grabbed this pile.

As I don´t own that many UFO´s (unfinished objects), I chose the way of using product that has been waiting for it´s purpose too long. This is my crazy pile. Really random product from stickers to tags to stamp set and papers. I´m challenging myself to use the product in the photo above to create card(s). Let´s see how many I manage to make, but I´ll make at least one :). Feel free to join too! Just tag Donna when you create something yourself, so she can see you joined in. This is just for inspiration, everyone, no strings attached or prizes to be won. Just for the fun of it! And to get UFOS done and/or reducing that stash of ours. I look forward to this!

I might add a bit of media to a card or two, because that is how I roll, but I try to keep to the products shown above. I´ll be sharing the card(s) here as they get done and do a final post end of February to share all the results from this challenge. Wish me luck!

Oh, and since I´m sharing my plans. I also decided to join in on the #100dayproject for the first time this year. Starting day is the 31st of January and I´ll be drawing a face on a tag. One tag a day for 100 days. Let´s see how long that will work out – but I´m very motivated. I´m also eager to see how I develop during the hundred days. Should be lot´s of fun. I´ve pre-cut and pre-prepared 100 tags with a layer of paint/spray inks/other media and will only concentrate on doing the 1 drawing a day. I´m am not a talented drawer, so I´ll do abstract, simple faces foremost. If you want to see my development, follow my Instagram account here. See you!

That´s all for today – looking forward to interesting February and 100 days :).
Take care!

One Little Word 2021

Hello and happy Saturday!!! I have been thinking about my word for 2021 for a while now and it was not as an easy choice as last year! I´ve been thinking about the perfect word to carry me through 2021, but I just couldn´t put my finger on one single word and say: “that´s it!”. So I´ve chosen three words for 2021 to guide me through the year.

Here is a page desplaying my chosen words:

So the words I chose are: dedication, growth and strength. I plan to carry these words in my mind and heart throughout the year and hope to reach the goals I´ve set myself.

This word should guide me in all areas of life through this year. Whatever I decide to do, I´ll do it with commitment. Whether it´s sports, work, crafting, family life, me or anything else.

Growth on the other hand is growth as a person, on a mental level and development in all areas. Again whether it´s work, sports, my art or me in general.

And last but not least, my third word: strength. This brings all the previous words together and connects them to a stronger bond. Here, I also want to develop my strengths – whether it´s sports, arts, work or any other areas of my life. I will need strength to carry on and to remind me that I want to be dedicated and grow and develop.

For creating this page I used plenty of various media. Stencils are from my stencil line at STAMPlorations, Dina Wakley paints were added and Dylusions sprays were used. The stamps are also by STAMPlorations and I´ve also added some tissue here and there, gifted to me by a lovely ATC swapping partner from all the way in Australia. I´ve also got some Tonic Studios Crackle Paste on the page as well as Posca pens. And some date stamping to record the date.

I also felt the urge to use bold, strong colours again for a change. It´s been a while I´ve used them and at the moment I just cannot get enough of them.

Last year my word was self-care and little did I know how well it fit the year 2020, when I chose it. It honestly scared me a little how well the word matched the year, so that is also why I´m putting extra thought to this years word(s). As I am asking the universe for these things, I might as well do it with my whole heart. Fully committed. I am a little fearfull (which should be a good thing, right?) of putting the words out there and hope that at the end of the year I´ll be happy I chose these words.

I hope you enjoy my art journal page share today! Wishing you all a lovely start into 2021! Have a great weekend!!
