Happy news & Tonic Craft Kit 06 – Tonic Studios

Hello there, everyone! Today I have a little announcement to make. As of today you will be seeing regular posts created with Tonic Studio products on my social media sites: here on my blog, on my YouTube channel, on Instagram and Pinterest as well as my Facebook page.

So earlier this week I received my first parcel from Tonic Studios. Consisting of the Tonic Craft Kit 06. This is their monthly craft kit that always has exclusive product inside that you will not find anywhere else. And as it seems, these kits sell out really fast! No wonder, they are of great value and have gorgeous product inside. If you haven´t heard of these kits yet, you should definitely check them out.

To give you an idea of the kits, I recorded short unboxing videos in English, German and Finnish. I´ve also added all the links to the kits in the description section of each video, so you just need to click the link of your interest and you are there :). Hope you enjoy the videos!

Looking back at 2017

I am glad it´s over – I am not going to miss 2017! It was a year of struggles, bad luck and lots of worries. I´m glad it´s done and dusted. It was a year of continuous trials and tests on a personal level. What am I taking with me from the past year? Lot´s of lessons learned about life, myself and strength. It was a tough year and it tired me out pretty much. So I´m glad to have taken a few days off from all of that and to get ready to embrace the new year.

This was my fave minibook from 2017:I´d like to share some of my „most liked“ work (according to Instragram :D, that is..) with you and then also talk about more positive things. This is a collection of nine of my most liked work on Instragram during 2017 (thank you for following and liking me there!!!!):

2017 in figures: I created a total of 13 sets of ATC´s past year, 8 home decor projects, 4 minibook projects, 8 scrapbook layouts, 35 tags, more than 90 cards, 4 wall art projects, 7 art journal sheets and a couple other crafty projects as well. So all in all I was very active, crafty wise. Not to mention a nice number of YouTube videos and my very first own stencil designs, making their first ever appearance in November. That was a very special highlight in my year for sure.

These were my fave wall art project from last year:
When you keep in mind that I work in a fulltime job, the number of projects listed above is a good amount. I´ve had people ask me why I do it? Well, I constantly feel the need to be creative in some way. It is my place of peacefulness in middle of crazy everyday life. I find happiness in what I do and I want to still develop, learn new things and try out new products and techniques. I can so relate to my lovely friend Tina, who practically shuts herself away from the outside world on weekends just to get some creative time for herself. Other people run marathons, we create :D, it´s that simple.

This was my favorite card project from 2017:
In 2017 I was lucky to design with/for Elizabeth Craft Designs, Studio Forty Designs, Canvas Corp Brands and STAMPlorations. I´ve cherished every single possibility and loved working with their products. In 2018 I will be continuing working with&for Canvas Corp Brands and STAMPlorations as a design team member and very happy to be guesting from time to time at Elizabeth Craft Designs.

This tag and ATC were my faves from 2017:
I´ve added some of my fave projects from 2017 into this post to share a summary of my 2017 art with you. Creative wise the year was really good to me, the rest could have been better, but I suppose there is also a reason these experiences were necessary, so I´ll just take it as as lessen from life and look forward to a much better 2018!!! Who knows how it will turn out, but I´m excited about the new adventures it has to offer :).

And a fave layout from 2017 would be this one – happy memories:
Wishing you all a lovely new year with less drama and lots of tranquility, peacefulness and joy! Thank you for stopping by my blog from time to time and leaving some love here. It is very much appreciated <3

See you again soon with new papercrafting projects and adventures,
xxx, Sanna

To say I am excited would be an understatement of the century! 😀 I am still pinching myself to make sure this is not a dream. These are my very first own stencil babies and I am really, really excited about this set!

It was thanks so Shery, who believed in me, that made creating these stencils possible. So I am very thankful for her support and for her trusting in me and my dream. Without her and STAMPlorations it might never gotten to this point. So I am very proud to be joining the STAMPlorations family with my stencils!!

I´ve recorded a video for you to watch with a little background info about the stencil and what I had in mind when creating them. Have fun watching:

Valentine tag

Hello everyone, it´s time for another Tag Tuesday :). This time I would like to share a Valentine´s day tag I made a while back. This again is one of the projects travelling with the Elizabeth Craft Designs booth.

I´ve used a grungy black and white paper on the Background and die cut the arrow, the word Valentine and the feathers from patterned paper. Then I added a layer of Glossy Accents on top of those elements to create some dimension.

Quickly before the Glossy Accents dried up, I poured some Silk Microfine Glitter on top of the feathers for additional shine and let that layer dry. A ribbon and some gems for decoration and this tag was done in no time. In the end I also added a faux stitching along the edges for more detail. That´s it!

Happy creating,
xxx, Sanna

Inspired by Iceland Art Challenge

Hello lovelies, I´ve again joined an art challenge organized by my dear, talented, friend Tina and a bunch of other creative geniuses. These collaborations/challenges are always so much fun. They push ones creativity, force one to walk out of one´s comfort zone and in the process you always discover something new. AND you get to know lots of creative peeps a lot better! It´s friendly and supportive. Just the way I like it :).
Inspired by Iceland Art Challenge

This time the challenge is about Iceland – there are no other requirements or rules. We were supposed to get inspired by Iceland in general and create something/anything around that theme. What we created, was totally up to us. There are some things that immediately come to mind, when thinking about Iceland: volcanic island, ice, water, northern lights, rocks, fays/elfs, ponys and Björk (love her music!) just to mention a few.

For me, growing up in Finland, it felt comfortable to think about my childhood, the things I grew up with and combine those things with Iceland in my art piece. So I went for an approach towards nature. Ancient Finns believed in all kinds of sprites, feys and elfs, so there are some similarities there to Iceland and I used those as a starting point. In Iceland they even have an elf school (see here).

SannaLippert_guardianfay_InspiredbyIcelandArtChallenge

So I created a forest fay/elf. I tried to use as much natural materials as possible. There is felt, wood, stone and wool on my artwork. Some pieces are eco dyed (felt/lace). I tried to combine as many family „roots“ into this piece too – the wool I used is from Finland, the stone is from Greece, the wood piece if from Austria (and the eco dyed felt is a present from Tina – which just perfectly fits into this challenge, being organized by her). These countries above pretty much sum up our family roots. The fay is something that is typical for Iceland. And the word love: thru love all these different places or roots are combined together in our family.

SannaLippert_guardianfay_InspiredbyIcelandArtChallenge

I feel really strongly connected with my piece, it is way more than just a piece of artwork you put on display. It has a story, a special meaning to me. It has inspired me to make more – I want to make a series of these, representing other things important to me.

SannaLippert_guardianfay_InspiredbyIcelandArtChallenge

In the beginning, when I signed in for this challenge, I was a little bit unsure what to make. Iceland as a theme felt challenging. And I had never been there! It´s hard to be inspired by something you have never been to, I thought. So what to make? BUT then when all these bits and pieces fell into place, it was pure pleasure creating this piece. It is one of my faves ever. You know, sometimes you make something that is more than an artwork. It develops a spirit of it´s own. That is how I feel about this piece.

SannaLippert_guardianfay_InspiredbyIcelandArtChallenge

I would like to thank Tina for always challenging us, pushing our boundaries and getting us involved with projects that help us develop. That is at least how I feel about this challenge. Thank you so much Tina, I loved this one!!! Happy to do another one, whenever you feel like it <3!

Looking back – this was 2016

Hello there, I am here posting a little overview of what I created 2016. Don´t worry, I am not going to share everything, just a few faves of mine :). Here are some thoughts on my work and the creative year 2016. Let´s start with my cards:

SannaLippert_favecards2016

There are my nine faves from past year. I created quite a few cards during the past year, more cards than layouts actually. I think I needed a break from scrapbooking in a way. The layouts I created I totally loved, but it was not my go-to creative outlet in 2016. I did more other crafty projects. And in my opinion that is the way it should go, we should do what we feel most comfortable with that moment. And now, after doing less layouts for a year, I can again see myself making more. It feels more interesting again.

My cards have lots of die cutting details in them, that is due to the design teams I was in, I think. And besides, I enjoyed a move towards this direction creativity wise quite much. Looking at my cards, do you notice what is missing? The splatters!! They have been following me for a couple of years now and in these cards there seem to be less or no splatters at all. But don´t be fooled, I am still a splatter girl :). Just yesterday I managed to splatter my whole computer screen, my keyboard and my photo printer with white paint splatters. YES! That´s me… Thank God I was able to remove every little stain and droplet. I am not even going to go into detail how that happened, but things happen around here when I get creative, people :).

SannaLippert_favelayouts2016

I still seem to have a thing for color too. It´s happy bright colors apparently, that I am drawn towards naturally. And I still think kraft and browns with whites and blacks look good together. Tags are appearing more and more in my work. I made quite a few last year. And enjoyed making them very much. I like them, they are small but still offer enough space to experiment and play with techniques and media. My desk is always a mess after working on how ever small an artpiece *lol* you´d think I created something big by to look of my working area, but no, it´s just a tag or two *laugh*..

SannaLippert_favetags2016

And then there are other crafty projects like OTP, minibooks, art journaling and ATC´s and even home deco. Yes, I actually did all of those last year. I always thought it would not be my thing to do home deco, but I must admit I quite enjoy it! AND besides, we DO spend a lot of time in our craftrooms BUT do we also showcase stuff we do? So that is something that is about to change in the future.

SannaLippert_faveartwork2016

I signed in for an online class that lasted a whole year. That was fun – although I did not manage to finish every single prompt/tutorial. I still plan to, though :-). And then there were friends, I can´t recall if I chose OLW for 2016, but if there should be a word for 2016, it should be friends. I met many of my crafty friends in 2016 in person. That is something really special. I cherish it very much!! And we are not talking about friends living right around the corner, no, these friends I met, live scattered around the whole world. And to meet some of them in person is really something special!!!

Then I got the possibility to go to Frankfurt (Creative World/Paperworld) and do demos there. Now that was really special. Something I hadn´t even dared to dream about. Somewhere in the corners of my mind there was always a little spark of hope, and it coming true was really special to me. I enjoyed interacting with people very much.

I am not a very communicative person. Well, I´ve gotten much better in time, but I am not the type of person who loves to be the center of attention. Thru this hobby I´ve learned how to share ideas, even teach and hold classes. Being more of an introvert than an extrovert I am very proud of myself for coming this far.

SannaLippert_OLW2017

So for 2017 my one little word (OLW) is going to be WONDER. I think it fits. I want to live more curiously (in  a good way!), discover new things, discover surprising things, be more astonished about creativity, ideas, techniques and play more. Does that make sense? I want to wonder, discover and develop. And travel, yes, that too. I´ve decided it´s going to be a good year. I want to concentrate on the good, the positive.

There is just something about the first days of the new year that makes us feel like we can conquer and achieve anything. I hope I can call upon this feeling throughout the year and at the end of this year be able to say it was an amazing year!

Thank you for coming around once and a while and reading my posts. I am still wondering if someone stops by besides me and Lizzy *lol*.

I wish you a wonderful 2017!! Let´s stay curious and creative!!!

Special discounts for you!!!

Hello lovelies and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I wish you all a wonderful start into the new year and boy do I have a great goodie prepared for you :)!!! Starting from TODAY, when using my special STAMPlorations DISCOUNT CODE, you will get 20% off your order of their stamps, dies and stencils!!! Good one, huh?

discountcodesanna

Just click the icon above, it will take you directly to the store, so that you can start using it :)!! I am pretty excited about this, as it is very generous of Shery, the store owner, to offer a code like this. Best part, it is valid as long as I am a member of this team which means you are good to keep on shopping with this code at least the next 6 months if not longer (I´m hoping for longer *laughs*).

OK, so what is in and what not? You CAN order as many times as you want to, just make sure you add the code at the COUPON CODE section upon checkout from the store. The code is good for BOTH regular and SALE prized goods in the store!! The only „no-no“ is that you cannot combine this code with any other sale codes which actually is common everywhere, so makes perfect sense to me. Just in case you are not sure what to type in, this is the code: STAMPGIRLSANNA (just copy and paste :)..). Have fun!!!

Wishing you a great time shopping!!!
