Hello – MMCC May inspiration

Hello there, again, lovelies!!! Today I´d like to share my second take on the Mixed Media Card Challenge blog´s May challenge. This time I´ve again used Brusho (kind of addictive, that product!!!). The challenge is all about REFLECTIONS and WATER.

Here is what I did:

Sanna LippertI again used a piece of watercolor paper as my starting point and first drew the puddle and the clouds onto the paper using a water tank brush. I then went and applied turquoise toned Brusho onto the wet areas. As it reacts with water, it soon created those interesting looking water areas. It is really fun to watch what you end up with in this process. Every image looks different! Next I let the blue color dry properly before changing to yellow to draw the sun.

Again first using plain water with the water thank brush to paint the sun, then I applied the Brusho over the area. Since it only reacts with the wet areas the powder that “lands” on dry areas, will not smear -> when the sunrays were dry, I just dabbed the residue of and hand a clean image. Next I cut the umbrella from a Brusho toned paper piece with my die cutting machine and an umbrella die by Elizabeth Craft Designs. I added some white gel pen details onto the umbrella and glued it on it´s place. The “reflections” on the water are also drawn with a white gel pen. Sanna Lippert The raindrops are also blue Brusho and there are even transparent ones in between – created with Glossy Accents – but in the photo they don´t show that well. Finally I added a raindrop border with a black pen and a die cut sentiment.

Now hop over to the MMCC blog and join the fun with us!!! See you there!!

Happy creating,
xxx, Sanna

  1. Fabulous results, Sanna. Makes me want to try this with my Color Bursts. But those little stinker puffs of color go EVERYWHERE!

    • Thank you, Maria!! *nodding* I can imagine. I used a needle to make a hole into the Brusho jars, that way when I dab on the jar with my finger, I only get ever so little of the powder onto my paper and hardly anything goes “outside the lines”.

    • hehe…I don´t know, about the tutelage…just having fun with the Brushos 🙂 🙂 🙂 but thanks so much <3
