Butterfly tag – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello there lovelies!!!  Time for „Tag Tuesday„. That just came to my mind when preparing this post, but would be kinda fun to try and post a tag every Tuesday, wouldn´t it? However, I am afraid I will not be able to make one EVERY Tuesday, so these „Tag Tuesday“ posts will be somewhat random in the beginning. But it is a start :).

This tag is one of my projects that is travelling around with Elizabeth Craft Designs booth atm. I made a few cards and tags for shows and this is one of those. There is plenty of things on this tag I really like: Silk Microfine Glitter, Moda Scrap line die cut dies and spray inks by Tattered Angels. I love this combination – happy spray ink colours mixed together with shiny glitter and combined with lovely die cut butterflies. There is lots and lots of spring feel to this tag. Happy spring everyone!!!

Happy creating,

Masculine, rustic boho style layout – Canvas Corp Brands

Hello there, everyone and happy Saturday!!! It has been a LONG, LONG while, since I made a scrapbook page. I have been „distracted“ by other types of projects recently. Then this photo fell into my hands, while cleaning up the mess the burglars left behind when they broke into our house earlier this year…and I don´t know if it was due to the emotional ups and downs after the burglary or something else that made me feel the urge to document some stories again.

I wanted to document my thoughts about my dad onto this page. He sadly didn´t get to live a very long life and I never really got to say goodbye. So there are lots of things that still dwell in my mind from time to time. I wanted to record these things, put them on paper. The journaling, because very personal, is hidden inside the envelope. I put it there, so my boys one day can read it and get a better idea of our family history. It is part of their story too.

So a big part of my layout making is documenting, putting thoughts and feelings down on paper. BUT I also have fun with the product!!! 🙂

I´ve used plenty of Canvas Corp Brands (Tattered Angels, Canvas Corp & 7gypsies) product on this layout. In the video you will find all the used product listed and will get a better idea on how I proceed when creating a layout. Hope you like it!

Happy scrapping,

Coffee themed tag – Coffee Lovers blog hop

Hi there everyone, I am up today with one last – although I could go on and on with these coffee themed projects, as I AM a coffee addict 😉 – project for the  Spring Coffee Lovers blog hop.

This time I ended up creating a coffee themed tag. Here it is:
And this is how I created it:

First I took a plain white tag and misted it with a Tattered Angels Cardboard toned Chalkboard spray ink. I sprayed the tag really wet so that the color would start „running“ on the tag surface and then quickly dried the surface with a heat gun. That way I got this really cool background look. Looks like spilled coffee :)..! And next I stamped the A Cup Of Roses clear stamp image onto a piece of beige patterned paper. The paper had platters on it, which makes it look like it has been stained by coffee/tea. Perfect for this theme then! I colored the image with markers again – using mainly Copic markers and adding white dots with a white gel pen. Finally I decorated the rose petals and the coffee cup with Rose Gold and Stardust Sticles to add some sparckle to the image. Next I took the Bloomin´ Spring Coffee Basket stamp set and used the sentiment stamps with black ink for the tag background. I repeatedly stamped the images next to each other mainly concentrating on getting the coffee name parts visible on the tag. Then all I did was to fussy cut the Cup of Roses image and adhere it onto the tag. I also stamped a sentiment onto a white paper and inked it with darkish yellow spray ink tone to match the tag colors and adhered the stamped sentiment underneath the rose image. Finally I added some ribbons to the tag and the project was done. I really like the colors on this tag. I am not that big a fan of brown but when I see it on a project, it gets me every time – maybe it´s because it reminds me of coffee 😉 ….

Coffee themed bag – Coffee Lovers blog hop

Hello there again, everyone! Time to share another Spring Coffee Lovers blog hop project with you today.

I could not stop with the ATC cards, but had to make another project :). This time, I altered a fabric bag to a customized present bag. Here is what it looks like:

I can fill it with goodies and give it away on a suitable occation. Here is what I did:

I first took a waterproof black ink and applied ink onto the STAMPlorations „A Cup of Roses“ clear stamp. I love this stamp!!! It is soooo pretty!!! Then I took some markers – both water soluble and permanent ones, as I am not going to add anything wet inside this bag, so it does not matter which ones I use. When coloring, I added a piece of thick cardstock inside the bag to keep the marker color from seeping all the way thru the bag and leaving ugly color spots on the backside of the bag. I also stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set on the bottom of the bag.

I don´t have much practise at coloring, so I went for a more „artistic“ look instead of trying to get a realistic result :). Finally after finishing the coloring, I added white gel pen dots onto the coffee cup and added some Frosted Lace Stickles around the rose petals for additional detail and the bag was finished. Here is a close-up of the finished project. I really like how it turned out. I have a few more bags in my stash, so I might make some more to give away :). And now, hop over to the STAMPlorations blog to read more about this fun coffee themed spring hop!! Do join in the fun!!!

Coffee themed ATC set – Coffee lovers blog hop

Hello there, everyone and welcome to the Spring Coffee Lovers blog hop. This hop is a sponsored by STAMPlorations (among many other amazing super sponsors).

There are some really great coffee themed products available at the STAMPloratios store and as an coffee addict, I could not pass this hop. Here is my project and a few details on how I created it:

This is a set of 3 Artist Trading Cards and I´ve used the „Bloomin´ Spring Coffee Basket“ clear stamp set on this set of ATCs. My first stemp was to cut vanilla toned cardstock into ATC size (….) and add some patterned papers onto the background. I used 7gypsies Ordre Du Jour papers as I found they would match the blog hop theme very well. And they remind me of old cáfe wallpaper decor somehow :). After cutting the papers into righ size I took a piece of vellum and black waterproof ink and stamped the Coffee Basket onto the vellum. Once dry, the ink does not smear.

Next I fussy cut the stamped baskets and flipped them upside down and started coloring from the backside (just to make sure my alcohol markers would not smear the stamped image – this way nothing can happen!). I used browns, pink, blue and yellow Copic marker tones. After coloring the images I only had to adhere them onto their places with clear double sided adhesive and  add stamped, fussy cut sentiments on top. The words are from the same set. I just used them partially.

For decoration I added some sewing yarn and a button on each ATC. Also there is some glitter glue here and there for additional shine. Finally I wiped some black ink around the ATC edges. These are the finished ATCs and here is a close-up of one of them:

And now hop over to the STAMPlorations blog to find out more about this hop (there are also prizes to be won, so make sure you join in the fun!!!). Have fun!!!

Face – Art journal page

Hello lovelies! Today I´d again like to share a peek into my Art Journal. This is my first ever face. The page started with no plan whatsoever. I was just adding residue paint, some paper scraps and layers onto the page. Then I felt like creating a face on top of it all.

I didn´t do any sketching, just started to add general lines here and there. That then slowly formed into a face.

I´ve sneaked some stenciled details into the page too, although they are hardly recognizeable on the finished piece. It might not be the best of faces, but I am quite happy how it turned out in the end, considering, I haven´t done these before.

When was the  last time you did something out of your comfort zone?

Wishing you all a creative day,
xxx, Sanna

You´re amazing!

Hello there! A few weeks back I was lucky enough to win some Concord & 9th stamps (well, a gift card to their store actually = stamps :-)… ) at their Instagram giveaway! I actually squealed when I noticed that Tina and me had won :-). I have been following their Instagram account for a while now – they have really, really great stamp designs and matching dies and a very inspiring Insta feed! After my parcel arrived and I had first admired the stamps for a while, I then recalled seeing a challenge blog go online too. So I went and looked it up and here I am, joining in on their challenge for the first time.

The challenge #7 is called: „Case A Designer

So I went looking for a card design/designer to case and found this beautiful card, created by Lynn Put. I chose to case her card called „You are Loved“. Here is my take on the case:

Lynn had used watercolors and watercolor paper on her card. I chose to create a faux watercolor effect with green toned Distress Inks onto a white cardstock base with the Lace Leaf Stamp Set. I then added a stamped leaf from the same set on one of the green areas and took a sentiment from the Above Average Stamp Set and stamped a sentiment directly onto the card like Lynn had done with the flower stamp on her card too. She had used sequins and stickles and I chose to use liquid pearls on my card. Finally I adhered a metallic green (you cannot sadly see the metallic tone here on the photo that well) toned piece of cardstock underneath the stamped piece to create a similar effect like on Lynn´s card. She had used a pink strip.

This was a fun challenge – I have not cased a card before, I think. But I really liked the idea. And I had a fun time creating this card with my new stamps. Can you still hear me grinning, while writing this post? 🙂 One happy girl here!!

Wishing you all a fabulous day,
Happy crafting,

Hugs card

Hello there, everyone!!! Today I´m stopping by to share another quick and easy to make card with you! This time I´ve combined some Elizabeth Craft Designs die cut dies and stamps with a STAMPlorations stencil. This is how my card turned out:

This one was again quite easy to make. I first doodled the raindrops thru a ARTplorations raindrop stencil with a white gel pen onto the light green paper. Then I die cut the Chevron Background from a pink patterned paper and adhere it on top of the stenciled paper. A stamped clear stamp sentiment, so pearls, paper flowers and a die cut, misted rose finish it all off.

Have a wonderful day!!
Stay creative,

Distress Glitter ATC set – STAMPlorations

Hello there lovelies, another Stencil Sunday is here!! I hope you are enjoying the inspiration delivered by us STAMPlorations girls :). Every Sunday either all or part of the team share an inspirational project created using at least one STAMPlorations stencil. Today is my turn again and here is what I did:

This is how I created the ATCs. My starting point was a piece of plain white cardstock – everything in color is added details :).

Step 1: I cut the plain white cardstock into ATC sized pieces (2 1⁄2 by 3 1⁄2 inches (64 mm × 89 mm)) and added green and blue spray ink onto the background. Next I used a heat gun for drying the ink.

Step 2: Then I place a misted piece under the ARTplorations Square City stencil and adhered the stencil onto the working surface with washi tape. That keeps the pieces from moving around. Next I applied a layer of transparent texture paste thru the stencil with a palette knife onto the surface.

Step 3: For the first ATC I then poured loose Distress Glitter onto the wet texture paste surface and dabbed the residue off with my finger. I let the piece air dry. Using the glitter this way it will stick to the paste when dry and stay shiny.

Step 4: For the next two pieces I mixed the transparent texture paste and the Distress Glitter with a palette knife together and first then applied the paste onto the tag like explained on Step 2. When you use the Distress Glitter this way, it will not result in a soft and shiny surface. It is more a grainy texture with color than a shine surface. If you would use a regular glitter, the result would still stay shiny when dry. That is the difference between Distress and regular Glitter and this technique.

Step 5: I took a piece of patterned paper and a STAMPlorations Trendy Feathers 2 clear stamp set and stamped feathers onto the paper with black ink.

Step 6: Next I took a STAMPlorations Fond Expressions 2 clear stamp set and stamped a sentiment onto a piece of vanilla cardstock. I then fussy cut the stamped sentiments.

Step 7: Now all I needed to do was to decorate the ATC background. I adhered the feather, some pink yarn, a button and the sentiment onto the tag. You cannot see it here, but I also added some white ink splatters in the end for additional detail. Those can be seen on the finished ATC´s.

Hope you have enjoyed today´s Stencil Sunday inspiration by the design team girls!!! Remember you can also join in the fun with us by submitting your mixed media stencil project (any brand goes!!!) to the monthly challenge!!! Just remember, NO CARDS allowed :). For details, go HERE :).

I for myself am submitting this project to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog´s: Bit O´ Green challenge.
