Slimline Xmas cards in bold colours – Elizabeth Craft Designs

Hello everyone, it´ s my turn over at Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today to share a monthly guest team member card tutorial again. For today´ s card share I wanted to create a set of slimline Christmas cards in bold colours. I did that by using actually very little supplies, so these cards are easy to replicate and do multiples of.

I have again used the gorgeous Classic Christmas Special Kit for creating these cards and the only thing I added to the kit was Brusho´s, metallic watercolours, embossing powders and ink. If you don´t have Brusho´s, you can replace them with spray inks, watercolour palettes or even patterned papers. Here is how I did the cards:

Step 1: Take white plain cardstock and apply the Brusho powders onto the surface. Spray water mist on top and let the colors spread on paper. You can also help a little with a paint brush and then dry with a heat tool. Once you are at it, create several different toned ones, so you can create a series of cards in the end.
Step 2: Next apply metallic or pearlescent watercolor splatters with a paint brush on top of the bold colored pieces and let dry.

Step 3: Now die cut the same amount of backgrounds using the background die from the Classic Christmas Special Kit and adhere it on top of the colorful piece.
Step 4: Next stamp and heat emboss sentiments using the stamp set from the kit. I used white, red, blue and black embossing color tones for my cards, but you can take any colour you prefer.
Step 5: Finally, fussy cut the sentiment pieces into right size and adhere them onto the card bases using 3D-foam. This adds nice dimension to the cards.

Now you have a fun set of Christmas cards, that are still flat enough to be mailed in an envelope, but will for sure cheer up the recipient with their strong colours.

I have again recorded a video for you to watch, so you get a better idea of each and every step. Enjoy!

While recording the tutorial, I created a total of six cards using the same basic technique, but just changing the color combinations. I did this to have a few more Christmas cards in my stash, because I always need so many every year. I also love how happy and bright there cards turned out.

I hope I could inspire you to give this idea a try and create a few clean and simple Christmas cards yourself. You can also divede the stept into several days. One day all you need to do is make the backgrounds, the next you die cut the white pieces and the day after you stamp and emboss the sentiments and on the final day you just adhere everything together. That way you could do a bigger batch of cards, too.

I´ ll be sharing another card tutorial with you again next month – so see you then!

Alles Liebe

Hello and happy Sunday! I did a card yesterday for World Card Making Day, but I forgot TO POST IT! So therefore, just a quick share now.

It is a very, very simple card and done using just a few supplies. A card that is very easy to replicate and do multiples of. You could even change the sentiment and have the same basic design with various sentiments for various purposes! How practical!!!

I used the Klartext “Scribble Kreise” and “Pfingstrosen” stamp sets for creating the card. The orange watercolor looking circle is done with the first stamp set and Distress Oxide spiced marmalade-tone. After that I just added the flowers with black stamp ink and for decor I did some Gansai Tambi Starry Colors gold watercolor droplets. Sooo easy!

And that is my take for the WCMD!! Just a tad late.. oh well!
Have a great Sunday and come back later for a card tutorial with a video ;-).
See you! Sanna
