Hello and happy Wednesday! It´s time for another stash busting card project share! Some of you who have been crafting as long as I have, might recognize some of the product on this card as very old stash. Crafty antiques, almost :).
The background paper is from my desigm team time kits at the Wild Hare Kits and the neon flower is back from 2005 or so. I don´t even remember which company made them. And the flower stem, that is very, very old Pink Paislee if I remember correctly. I used to order boxes from their storage sales back then. I´ve got plenty of chipboard images, die cuts and such from that time still in my stash. But as you can see, they still totally work and can be combined with newer product!
And I haven´t bought ANY paper for a looong time. The only things I buy at the moment are stuff I´ve ran out of or need refilling and a few occational stencils and stamps here and there. Have you tried anything similar? I am going to be honest that it is still very hard to keep myself from ordering lovely new product, but I decided I need to first reduce product that I have.
And it feels good to use them up! It makes me happy to see some of them finally ending up on a project of some kind!
Wishing you a lovely day! xxx, Sanna
Supplies (I´ve tried to find similar ones, as the ones I´ve used a older):
Hello and happy Monday! Today I´m again stopping by to share another clean and simple card with you! One of my all time favorite colours is yellow. I´ve loved yellow since I was little. It is a colour that immediately lifts my mood!
For this card I used the STAMPlorations “Rag Rug” stencil from my stencil line there with yellow Distress Ink. The stamp and die set is by Pinkfresh Studio/Altenew and I love using this kinds of stamps to “color” flowers. This way I don´t have to worry about adding the shading to the right spots, because it´s always right.
For additional decor I added some Nuvo Drops in Emarald and a stamped sentiment (from my older Stampin´Up! stamp collection). That´s all there is to this card. I love the white space on it and the colours. Makes me happy! I hope this card lifts your spirits today too! Here´s to a great week! xxx, Sanna
Hello and happy Sunday! Today I´m shortly sharing the next faces of my personal #the100dayproject2021 challenge. Like mentioned before I´m drawing a face a day on a pre-prepared, die cut tag. If you want to follow me face drawing journey „live“, you should follow my Instagram account (here). And you can also watch the videos directly on my YouTube channel (here).
My take on face drawing is an artsy, abstract one. I am not trying to learn how to draw realistic faces, because at the moment a) it is not my interest and b) I don´t think I am very good at that type of drawings. But this type of mixed media face drawing just interests me very much and I also enjoy it a lot!
This was another fave set. I loved drawing the “sailor theme” very much. They were lot´s of fun. The second tag was a bit tricky, becaues I had added texture paste (Nuvo Mousse) onto the tag for decor. Well, it is kinda hard drawing a face on those areas, thus I ended up making tiny faces here and there. A little different take than the other ones. But oh well, the goal was to do faces, so I still kept to my theme :).
So be sure to come back to take a look of the next 5 :). I wish you all a wonderful new week!!!
Hello and happy sunny Saturday! First it was too cold and then it´s just way too warm. What a crazy weather we have nowadays!! There even was a tornado in the Czech Republic this week (too close to where we live in my opinion)! Very scary! Also I am staying inside still, as my pollen allergy is really bad this year… and since I´m “hiding inside” I have more than enough time in my hands to do some crafting! So I have been seriously stash busting recently!
I´ve used up some residues from my design team kits, while I was a dt member at The Wild Hare Kits. These 2×2 inch square bits by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee are just perfect for creating card backgrounds. You get a really cool “quilt background” with them and then just need to add just a few pieces of ephemera and such for decor and the card is done!
I also used up some Shimelle glitter alpha stickers for this card and to make sure they stay on place I used me sewing machine instead of glue! The little doily was gifted to me by my lovely friend Lizzy and the ephemera is from my time at The Wild Hare Kits. Some faux stitching with a black pen for finishing touches and the card is ready to be sent on it´s way.
I usually do my backgrounds using different mixed media techniques, but during the years of my crafting hobby I´ve managed to gather quite a selection on patterned papers, embellishments and such, so it´s about time I use those products up. It is very possible that I will not be able to finish this goal in my lifetime (yes, there is so much stuff!), but I am at least trying!!
What about you? Are you a hoarder? Take my advice: stop hoarding! Just buy what you need and use it up! First then buy more! Believe me, I know what I am talking about!
Hello everyone and happy Thursday! Today I´m again stopping by with another stash-busting card project. The bits and bobs on this card are all from my time at the Wild Hare Kits design team. I love that ephemera and the lovely flower paper.
And the little cutie snail just adds so much more cuteness to the card which is so very easy to make. Just add the flower paper to a card base and layer and arrange a cluster with various die cut pieces / ephemera on top. Add some faux stitching around the edges and that´s it!
A perfect fast and easy-to-do birthday card idea! I usually go the mixed media way with my cards and on the last ones I have added NONE. Sometimes it´s good to go out of ones comfort zone and challenge oneself with a totally different style. And like mentioned on my previous post, I am trying to seriously reduce my stash, so there will be paper dominated cards and other projects showing up on my blog from time to time. I´ll let you know, when I´ve managed to empty a box or a drawer.
I doubt it will happen any time soon ;-). Wishing you a great day and a good weekend :)! Happy summer and happy crafting! xxx, Sanna
